Social process can be defined as the pattern of social interaction that in turn has a changing effect on society over a set period (Bain, 2017). It has an important role in molding society. It has an impact on service users within the health and social care sector. This can lead to marginalisation, isolation and exclusion. For example, unemployment, disablement, poverty, poor health lack of education and other sources of disadvantage can have a negative impact on the demand for health and social care services. Social processes can also impact health and social care services in due to a variety of socio - economic factors such family, community, peer groups, social class, values, attitudes, gender, income, expenditure, employment status, housing, media, cultural beliefs, discrimination, education and bullying. Marginalisation is whereby something or someone is left out of a group and is made to feel less importance. This is mainly a social phenomenon by which a minority or sub-group is excluded, and their needs or desires ignored. Social isolation is the absence of social contact and can lead to loneliness. It makes you feel you are being cut off from normal social networks. This could be because of factors such as loss of mobility, unemployment, or health issues.
