Regarding EYFS the components of a safe environment include:

Any other helpers or volunteers must be informed about health and safety in a setting. Policies and procedures have to be found in detail at nursery’s office or other known place. Staff getting more instructions about health and safety having trainings, specialized meetings, introduced to the risk assessments. Risk assessments have to be carried out of all in and out premises on a daily bases and special for an outings and unusual activities. The same children, have to be aware of health and safety, teachers have to teach them to wash hands before eating and after toilet, clean nose with paper tissue, do not use others cups, cutlery; eat healthy food; encourage to cough in an elbow or hands and then wash them . health and safety procedures and practises should be under continual scrutiny and areas for improvement should be monitored and dealt with. A good method of monitoring & improving are health, safety and security procedures are visually. Check visitors have signed in the visitor’s book, look for items blocking fire exits or hallways, wet signs are in place during cleaning, COSHH cupboards are kept locked, medication trolleys are secure, hoists are clean and stored in a correct storage place. Policies and procedures need to be reviewed regularly to ensure they are still relevant, circumstances in workplace can change and new risk assessments will need to be put in place or old ones reviewed. Washing hands before touching food is very important as you get rid of any bacteria or dirt which could be harmful towards the child. Every staff member should be CRB checked. This makes sure they have no criminal history. And that they are safe to work with children. An admissions policy is also important almost settings operate on a ‘first come first served basis’ which means who ever applies first get a place first.
Schools must have a policy about safeguarding children and this must adhere to current legislation. This policy should offer advice and have a recognised procedure for practitioners to follow in the case of suspected child abuse. If a child does approach a practitioner to confide in them about any form of abuse, the practitioner must:
• Staff to attend child protection and first aid courses. In cases of special schools staff should have appropriate training on medical issues on safeguarding all children.
* Ensure that the environment is safe, secure with high quality of hygiene practices for staff, children and their families and any member of the public while using the premises.
There are five (5) main points to be considered when planning a safe and reassuring child care environment by
