As seen through her high school transcript, Troytoria is an intelligent and focused student. What you are not able to view through her academic transcript is her extensive extracurricular and volunteer activities that have made her into the student she is today. Troytoria has not only excelled academically but also mentally and socially. She has taken out a great amount of time to dedicate to community service opportunities to assist her immediate community. She has done so through community-outreach programs associated with the Dual-Degree program at Georgia State University. She is also an impressive worker at her part time job at Taco Bell, where she serves as a cashier several hours during the week. Her volunteer opportunities through one …show more content…
Successfully maintaining an extensive class schedule at Georgia State University has enabled her to feel confident in a strenuous collegiate environment. Her consistent involvement on the Booker T. Washington High School’s marching/concert band, swim team and dance team has given her the opportunity to acknowledge her talents beyond the world of academia. Not to mention, Troytoria is a well written and spoken poet, she has been a past participant in the Omega Psi Phi Talent hunt competition and has recently paired with Spelman College, Clark-Atlanta University, and Morehouse College’s Next Great American Poet Scholarship (NGAP). Through these organizations, she has been able to constantly develop her leadership skills and her ability to work independently as well as with a team.
I wholeheartedly recommend Ms. Troytoria Wade for the Atlanta Neighborhood Choice Scholarship. Throughout my time teaching Troytoria, I have witnessed the depths she will go through to ensure her that her work and efforts are consistent and persistent, and am confident that she would be an exquisite
Please accept this recommendation for Miss. Alana Ingram to become a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated. She is an outstanding young woman with a generous spirt who displays her passion for helping others through volunteer efforts both domestically and abroad. (The length of time the member has known the applicant and in what capacity.) I still firmly believe that she will be an wonderful asset to the organization.
I am sorry to say, but I will not be recommending Troy Maxon. Troy is not worthy enough to be put in this museum because what literal historic thing has he done? What has he achieved? Having a somewhat decent family, isn’t enough.
In the past couple of years, I have paid close attention to Treniya’s school activities, as well as, her outside activities. Her academic record includes GPA of 4.3; participation in several Honors/AP Classes; Senior Class President; Varsity Cheerleading Captain and National Honor Society. What interest me was her involvement in social activities such as her involvement in
It is my great pleasure to recommend Denise Perez-Viveros for The Salvation Army Women’s Scholarship. I am the pastor of the church she attends. I have had the pleasure of knowing her for several years.
Ever since my sister attended Troy University and told me about all the superior activities Troy has to offer, I have wanted to attend this college. Troy has an outstanding nursing program, and that is the career field I plan on going into prior graduation. I have always wanted to specialize in neonatal nursing with sick babies. Troy also has some awesome sororities at their school I am interested in being a part of. Alpha Gamma Delta is the sorority I am most interested in. They strive to achieve academic excellence and they help out their school as much as they can. Lastly, Troy has a very beautiful, clean, and safe campus. Feeling safe while walking around your college is a very important factor to me.
In the year 1250, European citizens traveled from near and far to the quaint French town of Troyes in hopes of landing in what was known as the “Hot Fair.” Troyes, with Paris to the west, Châlons to the north, Verdun to the northeast, Dijon to the southeast, and Auxerre and Sens to the south, was a major commercial center at the time (Gies 23). The small town, surrounded by woodland, contained ancient Roman architecture, providing it with immense character. Not only did Troyes have an incredible interior, but the outskirts did as well, complete with gardens and a twenty foot tall limestone wall. With castles and monasteries, along with fields and livestock, Troyes was quite the medieval city. An egalitarian society is defined as “a society
I have had the opportunity to get to know Zach St. Clair this year during my student teaching at Eisenhower High School. I have Zach in Honors Pre-Calculus and Trigonometry. Zach is a remarkable student that balances academic with extracurricular activities and volunteer work while still holding down a job. Mr. St. Clair is a student that doesn’t find everything come easily to him and has to work for it. At a point in the semester Zach had fallen behind due to his heavy work load and missing an extended period of time due to an illness. Mr. St. Clair worked as hard as anyone at Eisenhower and was able to get his grade from a C to the A he currently holds in a matter of weeks contributing to his 3.56 GPA over his four years.
In addition to tutoring and mentoring the children in the community, Jacelyn also holds the position as Volunteer and Outreach Coordination, requiring her recruit, organize, and oversee student volunteers in the project. In addition, due to financial constraints in her family, Jacelyn also has an off-campus job that requires her to work many late nights and weekends. This ability to manage two jobs, a research assistant position, and consistent participation in community service while maintaining her exceptional GPA at an academically rigorous institution like UCLA demonstrates her admirable character, work ethic, and time management, valuable skills found in few students.
In 1949, Joseph Campbell, a writer and mythologist, published a book titled The Hero with a Thousand Faces. In it, Campbell proposed his theory that hundreds of hero stories can be summed up in a twelve-step pattern. Half of the cycle takes place in the hero’s regular world. The other half takes place in a special, unknown world. The cycle doesn’t only apply to ancient heroes; many modern heroes, such as Katniss Everdeen from the Hunger Games series, and Harry Potter of the Harry Potter series, fit in this sequence. Evidently, modern hero characters can be traced back to this simple pattern. One such hero that has been introduced in recent decades is Hercules, from the 1997 Disney movie Hercules. Hercules, like countless other heroes, fits
Without a doubt, I confidently and highly recommend Natalie to receive this scholarship. As a dedicated and knowledgeable and an all-around great person, I know that she will be a beneficial addition to your
St. Ignatius of Antioch was born in 35 in the Province of Syria in the Roman Empire. He converted to Christianity at a young age. This was very risky because he lived in an area where Christianity was very frowned upon. There is almost nothing known about his early life. His life picks up in AD 67. He was chosen to serve as the Bishop of Antioch. He succeeded Saints Peter and Evodius as bishop there for forty years. During the persecution of Emperor Domitian, Ignatius kept up courage by daily preaching, praying, and fasting. Then, Emperor Domitian died and Emperor Trajan took over. Trajan's reign we have records of a number of martyrs,
Analyse the effectiveness of the tactics used by both sides in the Trojan War. ____________________________________________________________
Ancient civilizations have had profound effects of what we know as the modern world today. The primary purpose for anything that lives is to survive. Throughout history animals, plants and humans have adapted to their surroundings. All living things have changed throughout time. The thing that differs humans from rest is, humans are more cognitively advanced. Over the course of time the shape and size of the human skull has changed. The size of the human brain has increased, which has allowed humans to adapt more to their surroundings. To survive, humans were making tools for hunting and to cut with. The closer you lived to the equator the darker your skin may have been, so you could adapt to the intensity of the sun’s rays. If you lived further
Stupidity likes to take a shower in the morning. A wave loudly crashing against a shoreline slips on a banana peel. Pinocchio is omni-present, much like candy. Tomorrow is like a painted flower, it never wilts. These sentences are ridiculous, right? The way you are feeling right now after listening to them is the exact same way the council felt about Nestorius’ teachings. The council went even farther than nonsensicality and called him a heretic. But, more on that later.
