The Xbox One is a gaming console made by Microsoft, Inc. It is in the middle of its product life, 2 years old at the time of this paper. The success of the original Xbox, and Xbox 360 provided a platform for Xbox one to succeed and capture market share for competition- Sony PS3 and Nintendo. Xbox one has become a bestselling gaming console with millions of units sold around the world.
Genesis:

The huge potential and high margins in gaming industry attracted stalwarts –Sony and Microsoft to directly compete with Nintendo by launching their own device consoles, PS3 and Xbox respectively. Although a late entrant in the market, Microsoft attracted huge audience with Xbox in 2001. The existence of developer network for Microsoft windows enabled new and enticing content to be quickly developed for Xbox. As the semiconductor industry saw huge improvements and innovations, Microsoft, and its competitors, introduced advanced hardware. Microsoft followed Xbox with Xbox One in 2006 and Xbox Live in 2013.
Extension:
Xbox One, primarily a gaming device, had penetrated the market by 2010s and has developed a huge fan base of millions of users. Xbox one was offered in multiple versions with 250GB, 500GB hard disk capacity to allow users to store gaming content. Microsoft has extended the original Xbox by adding larger disk space, improved multi-player gaming capability, and a better user interface. The enhancements on the console allowed game developers to extend better content with higher resolution and graphics.
Conversion:
To further differentiate from its competition, Microsoft used hard disks while its competition, Sony and Nintendo, used CD-ROMS, providing Microsoft better device
