The U.S. Marine Corps’ is thought to be one of the five free standing military departments, but in all actuality there is only three departments. The U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force, and the U.S. Navy are the only branches of the military that are correctly recognized as their own departments. There are two other Branches of the military that are under the U.S. Navy, one is the United States Marine Corps’. They were created to protect, but now they need protecting from budget cuts and disbanding. In order to protect the Corps’, they need to become their own U.S. Department, with their own funding and supplies.
The Marine Corps’ was created to protect the U.S. Navy’s cargo ships from the pirates who wished to overtake the ships. The United

There is the Infantry that has been nicknamed the Grunts of the Marine Corps’. The Corps’ contains jobs from mechanics to recruiters, from Combat to desk top jobs, but unlike some Branches of the Military all of the Marines go through the same boot camps. The Marine Corps has a twelve week required boot camp. When the New Marines, also known as Pullies, first arrive to either Paris Island or Sand Francisco, they have one scripted phone call to allow their families to know that they made it safely. For the first two weeks the new Pullie, cannot have outside communications to family or friends. When those two weeks are up they are then aloud to send letters, but they have to earn the credits to purchase the stamps and such needed. At the end of the eleventh week the Pullies go through what is called Hell Week, where they are not allowed to sleep for two days and nights, and still much preform at maxim compasity. When they are finished with their boot camp training they are allowed to see their family for a short amount of time before they graduate. After their graduation they have a ten day leave before they have to eather be deployed or continue on to a Marine Occupations Specialty School, MOS school.
The Marine Corps’ budget for the MOSs comes from the Navy. Contrary to popular belief the Marine Corps’ does not have their own funding from the U.S. Navy (Odom). When the U.S. Navy’s budget gets cut they do not

I believe that the mission of the author, Victor H. Krulak, Lieutenant General, USMC (Ret.), in writing this book was to describe how vital the United States Marine Corps is to our nation and that through the extensive preparation and training we receive, we have become the leading fighting force on and off the battle field. The purpose of this book was to inspire readers about the Marine Corps and to explain stories about how different equipment came into the Corps and how we perfected them. The author’s goal was the educate readers based on his personal experiences
On November 10th, 1775 the Marine Corps was established in Tun Tavern during the Revolutionary War. Since that time, the Marines have played an important role in securing America’s freedom through countless battles. The Marines have distinguished themselves as an elite force specializing in military tactics which assist in defeating the enemy under any circumstance. The Marine Corps is a small branch with limited personnel which allows them the
The Marines are a highly mobile amphibious attack force. Marines are trained to attack from the water and establish a beach head, an area of control on foreign soil. After the Marines take territory, other armed forces such as the US Army move in to maintain control, while the Marines move on. Marines are mobile, lightweight, and very rapid. I would compare the Marines to the head of the spear, wedging in to get a foothold and racing ahead once the land has been secured. In addition to acting as a lightweight attack force from the ocean, Marines are also perfectly capable of taking territory on land. Marines are trained for rapid deployment, and are often the first US military personnel on site. Marines also guard American embassies overseas, providing embassy security and safety. In volatile areas, being a Marine embassy guard is a very risky job.
Marines will always be known as “America's 911.” Since the birth of 1775, Marines always separated themselves

The United States Marine Corps is a frequently misunderstood, occasionally maligned but more frequently mythologized division of the U.S. Armed Forces. Sometimes its role is perceived as overlapping the roles and responsibilities of its military counterparts such as the U.S. Army, the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Air Force. However, as the exhaustive text by Victor Krulak shows, it is far more often seen as enhancing, focusing and insuring the roles and responsibilities. As the original pressing of Krulak's text was completed in 1984, a great many of the sentiments that permeate First in Fight: An Inside View of the U.S. Marine Corps carry pointedly Cold War-related messages and imperatives. However, an open-minded consideration of the text demonstrates a particular relevance for the servicemen and women of today's U.S. Marine Corps.
In the Navy’s mission statement, it states firstly that the goal of the Navy is to “maintain, train, and equip combat-ready Naval forces capable of winning wars”. This means that the Navy takes care of, teaches, and provides equipment to soldiers that are able to succeed in battles. The mission statement also states that the United States Navy “deters aggression and maintains freedom of the seas”. Meaning the Navy prevents enemy forces from attacking the United States by watching over the seas. The United States Navy is a great military branch because they provide nearly everything a soldier needs and pays for healthcare for their soldiers.
The Marine Corps does two things: make marines and win our nation’s battles. Winning battles depend on how well we make marines. Those who have earned the title have been polished and honed by attentive mentoring. We have to remember that to sustain the transformation
Although the US has not utilized large scale amphibious operations in decades, the relevancy of the Marine Corps will remain concrete through 2030 and beyond based on the possibility of amphibious operations and the proven competency of
The navy was the largest naval force in the world 400 years ago. They live on the ocean for months and months. They are always on the move to keep the ocean safe from war and possibly terrorist attacks from water bomb. They are always on guard and fighting to get more men to join the navy could be more protective so our citizens would have more protection from many ways the other forces could have attacked. The navy made the pepole of whales brania feel at ease with them selfs from harm.
As an institution tasked with the protection of the United States and its interest around the world including on, above, and below the sea, it is increasingly more important that the United States Navy (US Navy) continually works to generate and adapt to change in order be prepared for any threat from enemies near and afar.
was signed, and the American Revolution came to an end, the Continental Marines disbanded, and were re-established on July 11, 1798, as the United States Marine Corps. One of the most famous deployments that the USMC has been a part of, were the operations against the Barbary pirates, along the
Another factor that has affected the development of amphibious operations is the reduction of defense budget. The Marine Corps along with other services has managed the reduction in funding by cutting capacities. Many procurement programs, capabilities, and force structures were under severe examination. The fiscally restrained environment associated with the questioned relevance of amphibious operations hit severely amphibious forces that are
