Leadership refers to the act of leading a considerable number of people within an establishment or the capacity to do this. Leadership has to do with coming up with a vision that is crystal clear and the ability to spreads that idea out in a manner that makes individuals, given the information, knowledge, and methods to understand, willing to follow. Subsequently, balancing and coordinating the conflicting interests of all stakeholders and members. It is typical for any good leader to step up in the event of a contingency, with the potential to imagine and act creatively in situations that prove to be difficult. Leadership is often defined as the action of leading a group of people or an organization. In reality, leadership is much more than that. Leadership is being able to inspire others to be great while achieving a common goal. It comprises of having great communication skills and character. To grow as a leader, one should know what type of leader they are. To do that, there are several resources available to assess style, communication abilities, and character.

Most people think being a leader is mostly about being the boss, having people work under you and just becoming successful, but it boils down to more than that. Leaders are those individuals that actually utilize their many abilities in leadership and administration to help make a better change for themselves, the people around them and the goal that needs to be achieved. Leadership is not an expertise that can essentially be grabbed from a book or article based on leadership but instead it is one of those initiative abilities that are increased through experience and understanding those real life situations.

Leadership is necessary in all organizations in order for its objectives to be achieved. Leadership is the procedure of motivating people to behave in specific ways in order to attain certain goals. Leadership is about making decisions to achieve an organisational objective and helping to establish the ‘style’ and ‘culture’ of an organisation- “the way it operates”. (Hannagan, 2008) A leader should be able to look forward and identify the ways ahead. This means that leaders should have followers and should be able to share collective goals with them. Leaders decide ‘where we are going’ and influence people to take that particular direction, rather than describe ‘how we are going to get there’. (Hannagan, 2008)

Leadership is an approach for a leader to guide, motivate, supervise, manage, and influence others in different situation to reach a goal. According to the Pettinger (2007), the leadership can be explained in several situations. First, the leaders have the responsible to provide vision and direction to the followers. Second, the leaders shall energise and motivate the followers. Third, the leaders shall set and enforce absolute standards of behaviour, attitude, presentation and performance.
