On September 11, 2001 , the United States was attacked under the influence of Osama Bin Laden. Ever since these attacks took place the United States increased their security measures on who and what enters into the country to protect its grounds. The actions of Bin Laden came from a terrorist group named Al Qaeda. Al Qaeda was a terrorist group whose founder was Bin Laden. Al Qaeda led to evolution of Isis which is an insurgency and not a terrorist group. The evolution of Isis came from a book named Defense of Muslim Lands. Within this book the were the common beliefs and obligations to becoming a jihad. The key beliefs consisted of “ A Jihad is a personal obligation, Muslims have been humiliated by the hands of impure Regimes and western
Terrorism has been conducted throughout the world on numerous occasions. The groups that perform these actions come from multiple countries from all over the world. The United States even has some forms of terrorist groups and individuals. One of the biggest terrorist attacks was the destruction of the Twin Towers carried out by Al-Qaeda. Also recently there has been attacks in Paris and Great Britain, which were ISIS’s plan. The biggest terrorist organizations include the Taliban, Al-Qaeda and quite recently ISIS. The Taliban was founded in 1994, by Mullah Mohammed Omar, and they kill people in the name of jihad. Al-Qaeda was founded by Osama Bin Laden and also kill for jihad. Finally ISIS was founded recently hand continues to grow rapidly. They kill indiscriminately and how they see fit (Ppcorn, n.d.).
The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, also known as Isis, terror group has been an important issue in the United States for the past couple of years. After the recall of troops from Iraq, radical Islamist movements started to begin and Isis was formed. The first issue of Isis is they have grown in numbers over the years. Secondly, Isis controls thousands of square miles of ungoverned territory. Their high supply of troops and land allows them to creatively think of major attacks, including attacks on the U.S. Lastly, when people see the attacks from Isis, some people naturally gravitate towards these groups. Two months after 9/11 attacks Osama Bin Laden said “When people see a strong horse and a weak horse, by nature, they will like the strong horse.” Isis will continue to grow in power if countries do not come together to help totally eliminate them.
The word “ terrorism” is used a lot in the world nowadays. The definition of a terrorist is someone who uses intentionally indiscriminate violence as a means to create terror or fear, in order to achieve a political, religious, or ideological aim. Some example of what we have establish as terror attacks are the Twin Towers in New York on the 11 of september 2001 or the Paris attack on november the 13 2015. The attacks were done by two different groups of terrorists, but what people tend to ignore is that these terrorist groups did not come to life from the unknown. What people tend to ignore or maybe just don’t understand or don’t know is that in this case, Al Qaeda was a creation of the United States of America, a country which was colossally
ISIS stands for Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. It is referred as a terrorist group by the United States, whereas ISIS considers themselves to be an army instead. ISIS has been responsible for many gruesome attacks all over the world one of them being the execution of Jordanian pilot Moaz al-Kasasbeh. They originated from Al-Qaeda in Iraq but they had big ambitions by kicking America out and setting up an Islamic state. To this date hold their land there unlike other groups like Al-Qaeda and Taliban. They have a huge support from people as their count being over 30,000 soldiers and followers. They are heavily armed, can fund themselves, have an organized infrastructure, and can cause a lot of damage. Later in 2006, their brutality lost them the support of Iraqi Sunnis who partnered with US forces to help push them out of the country. And for this incident, America takes a lot of credit for this and call it the Surge in which they helped Sunnis rise up against Al-Qaeda in Iraq’s rule. This led to Al-Qaeda in Iraq being defeated but not destroyed by only being driven out of the land they used to control and later they began rebuilding themselves by being involved in the fighting in Syria as they were trying to throw the Shiite Assad regime. Due to their brutal and severe tactics, Al-Qaeda disavowed Al-Qaeda in Iraq. Later in February 2014, the group Al-Qaeda in Iraq
In response to growing Western influence in the Middle East, Osama bin Laden formed al-Qaeda, a global militant Sunni Islamist Organization, in 1988. The terrorist activities of this group resulted in the creation of America's Operation Neptune Spear which successfully led to his capture and death in 2011. Osama bin Laden was born on March 10, 1957 to Mohammed bin Laden and Hamida Ghanem. His father was a Saudi millionaire, however, his mother was only a slave to the bin Laden family when Osama was born. In 1962, Saudi Arabia banned all forms of slavery, enabling Osama to become more part of the bin Laden family. In addition, as more U.S. troops began to occupy countries in the Middle East, extremists like bin Laden were infuriated and declared a jihad, or holy war, on the United States. After al-Qaeda was formed and initiated a number of terror attacks against Americans, including the 9/11 acts, the United States launched an operation to eliminate their number one enemy (PBS, 1).
Osama Bin Laden changed the world on September 11, 2012, when he orchestrated the 9/11 bombings on the World Trade Center in New York City. He has also formulated many other attacks including the October 2000 attack on the USS Cole, and attacks on the US embassies in Nairobi, Kenya, and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania in 1998 (Encyclopedia of World 1). Osama Bin Laden had a negative influence on societies, economies, and religion throughout the world because of his actions in masterminding many radical terrorist attacks, and because he created and funded al-Qaeda.
To create terrorism is to create unlawful violence or war that is intentionally targeted to civilians. It can also be defined as a systematic use of terror to induce violent attacks that often lead to war. The network of Al-Qaeda, created by terrorist leader Osama Bin Laden, was formed by the World Islamic Front for Jihad against Jews and their Crusaders. Right after its creation, there were attacks at the US embassies in Kenya in 1998. Bin Laden then planned for the attacks after 2000, as there was an attempt to bomb Los Angeles International Airport but it was stopped. In October 2000, the USS Cole bombing occurred. This was immediately followed by the infamous September 11 2001 terrorist attack. This point in time kickstarted the beginning of wartime in North America.
When Osama Bin Laden was the leader of Al-Qaida, he was a huge threat among many countries. Bin Laden’s hatred for the U.S. was remarkably high mostly due to our views on Muslims and because of how our country would not follow or acknowledge any of the changes or his religions. The U.S. was never too worried about their being a huge attack or a surprise attack. When war was declared with Al-Qaida, Bin Laden would broadcast all over the world and the U.S. was always able to block it. This would help keep us safe due to someone in the U.S. is from Al-Qaida they could do something bad.
(CNN News) After al-Qaeda lost their leader they started to die down. Then just when you thought it would not get any worse than al-Qaeda, it did. A group known as ISIS led by Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, a fundamentalist Islamic leader who is said to have a far more organized and powerful military than existed under al-Qaeda and Osama bin Laden came about. This group followed the beliefs of Al-Qaeda; so I believe that al-Qaeda thought about a bigger and better way to come back against America.
It is very agreeable to say that Osama Bin Laden was the CEO of all CEO when it came to managing his terrorist people (Hoffman 1999, 2). Considering his enormous success his influence among them was boundless. He could easily have been the “face” for western terror. What he was able to accomplish was quite an accomplishment, and until today the western world, specifically America, continue to be in great danger because of his success. I believe he had incomparable attributes. We all know that he fought for the preservation of all Muslim nations by defying Western influence because he believed that any Western influence is corrupting Islam, and that any American should be ousted out of the holy land. This is a Muslim duty. We also know that Muslims believe
Isis originated as a group who fought against U.S. forces in Iraq, and later Syria, and were allies as well as a part of the radical Sunni Muslim organization known as al-Qaeda. The joined group was known at that time as al-Qaeda in Iraq and had
There are several terrorist groups throughout the world today. All the terrorist groups have one common goal and that is to rid the world of Americans and western influence from the Muslim world. There is one organization that has ties to most of all the terrorist groups in the world and is the most infamous group in the world today and that is the group called Al-Qaeda The word Al-Qaeda means “the base” in Muslim. As an international terrorist organization led by Osama bin Laden. The group seeks to rid Muslim countries of western influence and replace them with fundamentalist Islamic regimes. Al-Qaeda grew out of the of the ashes of the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan in 1988, after it helped expel the Soviet
Attacks done by ISIS, from just this year alone have added up to be about under just 30 attacks. The locations of these attacks vary greatly it seems. Some places in Paris, an attack in January and December, Tunisia, two attacks between March and June, and a very recent California shooting. ISIS has killed around 30,000 people. People believe ISIS was originally formed to rebel against government forces, which during the time of the Arab Spring, was a major thing people were doing because their governments were so corrupted. Almost daily, some U.S citizens are applauding ISIS for all its attacks and killings, some even joining them.ISIS has held people hostage and found multiple ways to contact people to try and persuade them into joining their group. Because of the Arab Spring, a major terrorist group emerged and has quickly scared most of the nation, killing thousands, and changing this world for the
When the September 11, 2001 attacks occurred the United States responded in a manner which was seen as a traditional reaction to such an attack; it used its overwhelming superior military to invade the nation of Afghanistan. As Afghanistan was the operating base of the terrorist group responsible for the attacks, Al Qaeda, the invasion all but destroyed the group's operating capacity. But in response to the United States' apparent victory the terrorists have re-organized themselves into a looser confederation and turned to alternative methods of finance and operation. One could say that the success of the American military's answer to the September 11th attacks have created a new environment in which terrorists currently operate. This includes the use of the internet, unconventional alliances with international criminal organizations, as well the inception of the "lone wolf" terrorist. Faced with these new type of threats, the United States and its allies must find a way to identify and deal with them.
After the establishment of Al-Qaeda, the main purpose of the terrorists’ attacks become the Islam. Especially after the War of Syria, Al-Qaeda becomes ISIS, which threats people’s security and planed influential attacks which caused massive death. From the establishment of Al-Qaeda and ISIS, proves the war stimulate the growth of terrorism organization, and the data shows the period after a war occurs, the times of terrorists’ attacks increased.
