Border Terrorism Research Paper

Terrorism is defined as an act of violence that is committed by an organization or a single person in order to be heard. Terrorist acts are usually based on a couple factors such as, historical grievances, foreign policy decision, poverty, and religion. Terrorism is not a new act amongst the world but something that has been around since the beginning. To understand a criminal you must think like a criminal, and understand why they committed a crime or a violent act, then you can prevent and conquer.

I believe terrorism comes from hate as well; I also believe it is something that is taught as a justified act. This kind of hatred in most cases comes from many generations and is passed down the line. It is similar to racism because it stem from hatred as well. When individuals or groups of people can do violent harmful things against innocent people to me it is defined as hate. When you think about the different attacks against the United States you can clearly see the level of hatred they have for the American people. They are willing and ready to sacrifice their own lives in the name of terrorism. (111 words)

The United States Border Patrol is a police force located all over America. Most people think the only job Border Patrol has is chasing down immigrants due to the media coverage on the Mexican border. Although it is a big part of the job it is not the only thing done. The main position for agents is in Mexico, another main location is Canada. Between the two locations 21,000 agents patrol 6,000 miles. (Department of Homeland Security, n.d.) The Border Patrol’s keeps illegal people, drugs, and weapons of mass destruction from entering our country. Another major responsibility is to prevent terrorist from trying to cross the border. In order to prevent this from happening Border Patrol have check points with man power alert at all times. Equipped with the best equipment from the government they stop virtually everything crossing. I along with most of the country feel that this is a very important job in the United States.

This bill was introduced to the “Homeland Security Committee” on January 12, 2017 by Representative Martha McSally. If this bill were to be passed it would improve the border and add more border patrol agents. The citizens living in areas surrounding the border would be the most impacted by the bill along with the illegal immigrants. The bill would make it harder for illegal immigrants to enter the United Sates. If the bill is passed the total bill would be $40 billion, heaped on to the cost of a bill that already poured billions of dollars into increased society, however if the bill is passed there will be more jobs for Americans, and decreased crime rates. The bill will keep other citizens safe from facing these illegal immigrants who may act violently. Overall it will decrease crime rates throughout the United States, illegal immigrants usually bring illegal items with them which if not passed could lead to a rise in the crime rate. Right now, illegal immigrants can pass over the border without getting stopped because of the lack of patrollers. They are able to pass through at any time they want, however if the bill H.R.505 is passed then those illegal immigrants can never pass through the border whenever they would

Terrorism has been conducted throughout the world on numerous occasions. The groups that perform these actions come from multiple countries from all over the world. The United States even has some forms of terrorist groups and individuals. One of the biggest terrorist attacks was the destruction of the Twin Towers carried out by Al-Qaeda. Also recently there has been attacks in Paris and Great Britain, which were ISIS’s plan. The biggest terrorist organizations include the Taliban, Al-Qaeda and quite recently ISIS. The Taliban was founded in 1994, by Mullah Mohammed Omar, and they kill people in the name of jihad. Al-Qaeda was founded by Osama Bin Laden and also kill for jihad. Finally ISIS was founded recently hand continues to grow rapidly. They kill indiscriminately and how they see fit (Ppcorn, n.d.).

As stated in our textbook, terrorism is defined as, “The use or threat of violence to create terror in others, usually for political purposes” (Ember 299). Most often, when individuals hear the word, they think of September 11, 2001, the fateful day that changed our country. Since that day, it seems as if the word “terrorism” has become a common term used by newscasters, politicians, and everyday individuals alike. The concept and fear associated with “terrorism” has seemingly dominated the lives of Americans—and other individuals—since, implying that there was a time before 2001 where terrorism wasn’t as prevalent or didn’t exist. However, this certainly is not true because terrorism is not a new concept at all. As stated by our textbook,

We all wonder where does terrorism comes from? Well for starts it comes from the French Revolutionary war when people went against the government during this war many innocent people died. History has also had some terrorist actions for instance during world war one and two, the Holocaust is one when more than 800,000 jews were killed for no reason killing innocent lives. Border Violence, This only happens in the border such as in Presidio Tx & Ojinaga Chih, El Paso Tx & Juarez, Del Rio Tx & Acuna, and San Diego Cali & Tijuana and so on. Border violence is a very unhealthy and violent thing to be around especially if you’re young and grow up around it, it would prevent many scars in your life. Border violence is the triple threat of drug smuggling, illegal aliens, violent gangs, and the concomitant rise in violence is no more evident than in the state of Texas. As America keeps a high fence around its country, people from both ends of the north and south border still find ways to quietly enter the country illegally without being noticed. Those who have discovered the trick to avoiding border patrol have entered the country a few times now, sharing the secret and inviting a few more people.
