Imagine that you were talking to a girl / boy that your friends don’t like , she/he was talking about them . She leaves and they ask you , was she talking about us ? would you tell the truth or lie and say no ? Lying is justified when it can be used to protect and care for others for example , when your partner and you are going to an award ceremony and she asks you if she looks okay but you don't think she does . Sometimes you need to lie to protect others . Hurting people is wrong . In addition to Harold Smith's daughter getting worried he tells her she doesn't have cancer . He cares about his daughter why would he want her to be hurt ? He loves her and just wants the best for her.Sometimes lying is the thing to do, if necessary , these people lied for good reasons
Lying is acceptable if it creates more positive results than negative ones . Anne Frank survived as long as she did because those people sheltering her and her family from the nazis . If they did not lie she would have got found . Our country today would not be free like it is today . A couple who leaves early , saying the babysitter has a curfew .They lied so they would not hurt the person's feelings because they were bored . They

Lying is okay when protecting others their emotions , feelings and everything . you would never want to hurt a person . If you lie and more positive things come out where everyone's happy , because you lied and made them feel better then that's all that matters . Some people say lying is never okay , i gave some examples about why i think lying is okay if necessary . I want my readers to know lying , is not horrible as they describe it , some lies save lives, protect people's feelings , and make more things positive more than negative it can make people's day with just a word better then it was . Lying is acceptable if it is used the right way
I feel that telling lies is not acceptable for the following reasons. Lying is not the right thing to do in a bad situation. If someone is talking behind your back, you would want someone to tell you what they are saying. If that person lies to you, you think of a different perspective then of what the situation actually is. If you confront the person who’s talking behind your back and it turns out to be a different story, the situation is going to get worse because that person who told you about the
Staples, Inc. is a "green" company, and ranked in the top 25 on the Green Power Partner list put out by the EPA (Pallavi, 2006). Nearly 3000 of its office products have at least some recycled content in them. Clearly, Staples has sustainability and the global village in mind. By using recycled content, Staples shows that it is committed to helping people live better lives and reducing the number of items that end up discarded in landfills each year. The paper the company sells and uses is environmentally friendly, and Staples is working on the creation of its own brand of products that are produced with raw materials that are green. The fulfillment center in Maryland is solar powered, and a store in California is also using solar power for at least part of its energy needs (Pallavi, 2006). Strategies to reduce power usage include putting all copiers in the store in "sleep mode" if they go unused for more than 15 minutes, which saves the company more than $1 million every year on its energy bills. That simple step also keeps 11 million pounds of harmful carbon monoxide out of the atmosphere (Dalkir & Warren-Boulton, 2003).
Throughout the years many schools have been caught paying their athletes money when they are not allowed to. The National Collegiate Athletic Association, or the NCAA, makes billions of dollars every year because of the popularity of their sports. When the school has a successful season they are making millions of dollars and as a result, some schools are breaking the rules and they are trying to pay players and recruits to entice them to come to their school so they can make even more money. This has lead to a corrupt system and has many people asking whether it would be better to just pay college athletes or not.
Lying is one way people deal with conflict. Why wouldn’t it be. An example would be from the Diary of Anne Frank. The Diary is in the point of view of a young girl and her family hiding from the Nazis. She details her experiences in the annex as well as her thoughts and feelings of herself and others around her. Essentially, Anne and her family lie to the government and neighbors. There have even been many times when the Nazis have lied. They have lied to Jews by telling them they would be taking showers and killed them. Lying seems normal in situations of conflict. People may lie to save themselves or to save others. People may also lie to achieve a sort of goal, whether it be good or bad. It seems to be a very common way of responding to conflict.
Is it always morally wrong to lie? Yes, I strongly agree, others might disagree; moreover, this can depend on one’s own morals.
A little over a week ago Richard Feynman's autobiographical book "Surely You're Joking Mr. Feynman" was recommended to me. Typically, I don't jump on book recommendations immediately due to my already obnoxiously long reading list. However, with this recommendation I broke with tradition and bought the Kindle edition a few days after. Here is what I learned:
According to Immanuel Kant, a German philosopher, lying is acceptable in not even one situation you can think of. He specifically states,”Truthfulness in statements which cannot be avoided is the formal duty of an individual to everyone, however great may be the disadvantage” (Bok 1). This is so important because it really elaborates on how religiously one should avoid
Lies the thing that could hurt or save some people and people lie a lot almost every day.No one could escape a lie, lies are basically everywhere. Some people say lying never ok but the people who say that have lied before. So here’s the question when is or is lying ever ok?
Lies are permissible when told under the right consequences. There’s a time and a place for everything, even lies. If you lie about something that will not have a negative impact on another person or thing then it is okay to lie. Other than telling a “little white lie” is never acceptable to misrepresent
Imagine that you got arrested for no reason when you were at the police station next thing you know you get a random phone call from a strange man? Lying a common thing that people have been doing since the beginning of time. Lying is only acceptable when it can be used to protect and care for others
Everyone has told some sort of lie in their life. A person's lies can range from small white lies such as, “your haircut looks amazing”. Some people tell bigger lies such as “no, I did not commit tax evasion”. I believe it is morally permissible to lie, because people who always tell the truth can cause lots of ill-will. Then in cases the truth will end up causing more pain, a lie is the morally correct.
Lying is ok because it maintains your image. In paragraph nine it says that moral philosopher would disagree that all lies are bad but Randy Cohen says i'm a big fan of lying.Lying is not always justified it is a moral duty we lie without even thinking about lying. We lie to maintain our image so people won’t think bad of us or be hating because if we always say the truth people might get
First of all, lying is sometimes justified when someone's life is in danger. For instance lying is never justified according to immanuel kant who believed that all lying is bad. But i feel lying is justified if your saving someone's life. For example, cohen explains that Not Only Is lying justified, It is sometimes a mural duty. This evidence highlight that, when a family member is being told off it's my job to defend them. One can see by this, that you just have to do it you don't have a choice. Moreover cohen identifies that, lying to protect someone from harm, so it's a justified time to lie paragraph 10 Article 1. One again notice that, lying could save others from serious harm and trouble. This is most important because, you could save people's life with those lies people don't accepted.
I think that you don't always have to be telling the truth.I think that sometimes it is ok to lie but it's not good if you do it all the time. There are some point in your life that you will probably lie but it's not because you want to it's because you're trying to help someone or it's better if you lie so your friend doesn't get hurt or something like that.It could be that if your friend tells you something and he doesnt want anyone to know and if someone finds out he could get hurt.
I believe that lying is ok . my reasons to believe so is that no one really knows if you're lying example nbc news.com it said “nelin was in no mood to go to work so she called in sick’’ this helps my claim becuse it was up to the person to bilive her . one more reason i have is that lying is a part of life everyone has told a lie whether it was about a bad grade , getting out of trouble , or when you break your mother’s vase and you blame it on the dog or cat or your brother or sister . there are other reasons why people lie to help themselves like when you don't want to go to work and you tell your boss you're too sick to work . Im sure this happen to you . let me paint the picture you out
