Against Abortion
The right to life is the fundamental right that belongs to every human being. We must consider that a human life is a sacred value, from its beginning until its end; therefore, the value of life is entitled to be fully respected. It must defend and promote life, especially when it is weak or threatened. The decision to take the life of a human being is always bad from the moral point of view and should never be licit either as an end or as a means. The controversial issue of abortion is no longer a taboo. Think yourself the growing baby in a womb, expected to have a life outside after a specific period. But then, you are deprived of that life. Abortion is not justified because it’s considered a murder, it’s unsafe, and there are other alternatives to abortion.
The first reason why abortion is wrong is because it’s considered a cruel murder. A murder is to directly and freely take the life of a person by another person. Supporters of abortion argue that a fetus is a human being and that abortion is therefore equivalent to murder (“To what extent...” 6). Women are taking a life and killing a human being. The baby is alive and not just some 'group of cells' abortion doctors call them. People are painfully putting a child to death. It is wrong to think someone has the power to end a life so harmfully. There is no more moral of killing a child after it is born than it is before it is born.
