Abortion : A Controversial Issue

The issue of Abortions has been a controversy for years now. There are two main groups for this problem, Pro-Life, and Pro-Choice. Pro-Life supports the human rights of life should be embraced, by religion and ethics. Pro-choice is when someone wants to make this choice without no remorse of human life, but because someone wants no part of it raising one.

Women need to have the choice about abortion, it's no ones choice but the women who are facing the question.The women can choose what she want with her life. She can have control to shape her future as well as her body. Pregnancy should be planned and taken into consideration, therefor pregnancies take planning and preparation, no baby should come into the world unwanted (procon.org). Embryos and fetuses are not independent, self-determining beings, abortion is the termination of a pregnancy, not a baby.

There are always a number of heated debates within the United States. These debates are always a hot topic and very controversial issues. One of the most controversy issues that have had many Americans debating over the years is abortion. But why so much controversy? Well to start with we have to understand what abortion is. According to the Oxford dictionary, abortion is the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most often performed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy. There are also 2 types of abortions. The first one is Therapeutic abortion, which the baby is aborted for the safety of the mother, and elective abortion, in which the abortion is performed due to a choice that the mother has made for an unborn child. In other words, abortion is the end or the expulsion of a fetus from the uterus by natural causes or by clinical methods before it is able to survive independently.

Every culture and society does not allow or consider abortion as a rightful act, and abortion is a name of destroying human life. Even though the controversial conversation of abortion somewhat prohibits the open talk of there being other reasons that would make abortion essential and sometimes critical to the health of the mother. There are several reasons women are seeking and have sought abortions and were denied or otherwise restricted to laws and/or regulations. How would you feel, if I told you that your mother wanted to have an abortion when you were a fetus just because she didn’t want to raise you, didn’t have the time for you, or the money. Or didn’t want the responsibility that came with having a child. What if I told you that half of the women that get pregnant in the U.S. today have abortions, and their main reason is most likely because it might interfere with their work, education, or relationships. Which is selfish. If you think about it, they think that the the baby inside them means nothing. They don’t deserve to live a happy life or a life at all. Also they think it’s their body, but it’s not it’s the baby's body too. This controversial topic has been an a highly debated argument for many years, whether it’s ethical to kill your unborn child or or not! Also the fact that the rate is growing tremendously. Abortions first started in the 1820s. At that time women knew that they were and are killing their fetus or embryo. Some women are not ready to become parents to take the responsibly. Personally, I think that having an abortion is morally wrong because you are killing an unborn fetus or embryo, while it is barely starting to develop.

However, they do not figure out that woman who is on the inevitable situation such as infection, rape, or extreme poverty would still have the abortion even though the abortion is illegal. Many women die due to unsafe abortion, which is illegal and performed by uneducated people. Therefore, the abortion should be legal to protect the life of ‘alive women’ because women’s life is equal to human’s right. I would like to provide more affirmative bases to support abortion in this paper.
