It was 5AM when Sophie was walking down the side of the eerie waterfront, just a few blocks from her apartment. This is really not what I wanted to be doing tonight, thought Sophie, staring down at her light blue canvas shoes. Is it really so hard to just leave me out of the antics? I just want to sleep. Molly and Zeke had long since abandoned her in lieu of a better party across town. In Molly’s drunken stupor, she forced Zeke into his car and sped away before Sophie even knew what was happening. When Sophie noticed that her friends were no longer in the rank old bar, she went outside to discover Zeke’s car was gone, with only skid marks as a clue to what had occurred. Having no money for a cab, Sophie was forced to walk the several block …show more content…
The darkness surrounded her, only given in to the occasional headlight of a passing car. Moisture hung in the air, developing a blanket over the area and making it that much more difficult to see more than 10 feet ahead. The smell of salty air and the sound of crashing waves was the only indication that Sophie was near water. As she meandered along, she noticed a truck up ahead, parked several feet from where the water was crashing against the concrete barrier. Sophie was only 20 feet away, but something told her that she shouldn’t go near that rusty, dated truck. Maybe it was the fact that there was no road nearby, or maybe because the driver was simply standing, watching the waves crash, contemplating. Darkness and fog obscured her view, but she could make out what looked like a lump of trash next to him. The feeling that Sophie felt next was that of horror and panic as she realized the mass by his feet was moving. Not only was it moving, but it was obviously trying to get away from the man and his plan. The individual wasn’t able to get far due to what appeared to be ribbon tied around her arms and legs. Sophie was frozen in disbelief and horror as the man stood the girl up with her back to the water, gave her face one last stroke, and pushed her into the dark abyss
Then the police starts asking them questions and finally tells them to come out of the car with their hands held high up. When the police says that Sophie uses the car door with a lot of force and slam it as the police making him fall on his back. Then Sophie drives away at really high speed with the police car following them. After they lose the police car, some people dressed in black clothing starts to grab Sophie and Hugo but then a white caravan appears and the people in black clothing let Sophie and Hugo go. In the white caravan, there was Luce and her dad. They let Marc-Andre, his parents and Luce come along with them.
Bella is pulled under the waves, her vision goes black. She feels something around her waist pulling her upward but her vision is still black. Bella is dragged to shore. She wakes up and starts coughing up bloody water and sand. She sees a figure in the distance coming closer
Throughout time many have had a fascination with serial killers and with help from the media they have become celebrities within our culture. There are many books, movies, television shows, and news coverage to introduce viewers to their lives. With all the interest behind serial killers, many wonder how they come to be this violent. The question is often asked, are serial killers born or made?
Raina left the house and set out on her mission. Walking down the sidewalk, she felt a shadow following her every move. Then, when she least expected it,
Complete darkness. The distant bioluminescence of the hidden fish flashed around the girl. The cold water of the deep ocean felt frozen on her skin.
Cassandra stopped the second she sensed a cold breath on the back of her head. It cut through the warm hat and her hair, and made her body shiver. Her sisters didn’t have a breath like that, nor did it resemble the blow of the wind.
No sand could run through her toes; they were blocked and webbed by nylon. Clarissa reached one of the pillars, closest to the rippling waters upon the shore, and embraced it by hugging it. No one was around this area, so she had not a care in the world. She pretended the rough wood at her frontal side was that of Johnny’s body and hands having his way with her. But the excitement must have been too much for her; her breathing became very shallow. A tingling sensation came over her. Clarissa’s eyes became blurred, but she stayed as fixated as she could to the incoming water that was now running through her leggings at her feet. The cold water sent her into a chilled world. The moments went by and she held on to the scene ahead, and to the thought of Johnny’s love for her, but she eventually collapsed right there as the water came up to her one last time while she was somewhat conscious. She was no longer breathing and her crisp outfit was becoming drenched from the water that had approached. It was official…Johnny would never see his femme alive again. And Clarissa succeeded in keeping herself in the shadows so that Johnny could never see her suffer at the very
We barely managed to escape in time if it hadn’t been for Sophie I wouldn’t have made it. She pulled me through that leygate thing and we went from Ojai, California to the church of Sacré-Coeur in Paris, France. We ended up in a supply closet I figured there would be alarms but Flamel didn’t listen. As we frantically tried to find a way out he managed to set off two more alarms. As if things couldn’t get any worse this big creature made out of wax appeared. I believe Flamel called it a--a tulpa Scatty seemed surprised when flamel said that. It honestly scared me when Sophie turned and screamed causing the monster to melt. I don’t like her having these powers she's not the same, and every time she uses them I can’t help but think how dangerous
Robyn took over driving for her father nearly ten miles ahead of the construction zone. The father-daughter duo was to drive on part of the interstate where the floods had washed part of it away. As the signs were blown over, they had no idea that the construction was going on. Driving along, Robyn was doing fine. She kept her father’s truck square in the lines, and her speed constant. Always loving to different types of landscape, Robyn looked out the driver side window to study the golden fields of wheat, rolling like waves in the ocean. As she looked out the clean, streak-free window, the truck was coming closer to the site of the construction
The generic definition for diversity is the condition of having people of different races and cultures in an organization, such as a school. Culture is similarly generically defined as the beliefs, customs, and attitudes of a group of people or an organization. A deeper perspective encompasses sociocultural theory, where the social and cultural context of a person’s thought and actions are considered. According to sociocultural theory, we do not live in a vacuum. Interaction with social forces, or those omnipresent social influences that surround us, goes a long way toward explaining our attitudes, character, knowledge, feelings, and other individual attributes (“Diversity Consciousness”, 2010, 2004, and 2000).
Icy sweat had split Murphy’s forehead into sections of moisture and flesh. He couldn’t fixate on what was causing him such distress. He only knew that he was afraid of the unknown. He glanced around at his surroundings, but most of his senses had failed him. To say the room was dark would be an understatement. He was surrounded by a void of perpetual darkness that seemed to surround his pale complexion, gnawing away at the faint glow his skin once possessed. Since his sight had failed him, he strained to listen for any hint of activity, but the more he concentrated on the abyss the less noise he could hear. It was as if he had descended to the bottom of the Mariana Trench; the pressure from the water impeding his ability to hear, see,
One of the key manners in which direct-to-physician advertising of pharmaceuticals can lead to health promotion is in the reduction of malpractice on the part of physicians when it comes to the administering of pharmaceuticals. It is of course the primarily (and ultimately, solely) the physicians' responsibility to ensure the proper and effective use of pharmaceutical products, just as it is their responsibility to ensure that all care practices and interventions are in the best interests of the patient. Pharmaceutical companies have this goal and this responsibility as well, however, and they can be instrumental in making sure that true best interests are served with current knowledge of best practices and new potentials. As advertising is ultimately the provision of information, it can be seen that the direct advertising of pharmaceuticals to physicians can provide more comprehensive, detailed, and current information regarding new products, new uses, and the risks and benefits of specific pharmaceutical agents. The direct advertising constitutes an information-sharing relationship, and arming physicians with better information can only serve to assist them in their quest to achieve the best results for their patients (Schwartz et al, 2009).
I stared into the dark murky lake. The black waters rippled, revealing plastic bags, soda cans, and orange peels. The stench wafted up to my nose even when standing fifty feet above. I peered below and shivered involuntarily due to the icy wind hitting me like a ton of bricks. Tightening my grip on the rails, I leaned back to control my shaking. Voices surrounded me, encouraging me to jump. But I was transfixed on what’s below. Taking a deep breath, I took one step forward.
I ran my hand through my tangled brown hand and sighed. Today was eventful. One minute I'm in my room playing a video game and the next I'm involved with the fate of mankind. Let's start from the beginning. I had just gotten home from school...
He ran outside half-dressed screaming “WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON” He ran to see guess what NOTHING he thought he was losing his damn mind. He closed his eyes and thought about being back on the water. He wishes he could find his sister, but no one knows where she is. “Maybe she’s on this damn island from where was that who I saw last night”. “Could my sister be dead or the person I saw last night”
