I believe that all of the circumstances were not fully explained to Erma. As for Erma she was a single mother of two that was arrested. Erma at the time did not know what she was being arrested for. Erma put her faith into who her court-appointed lawyer was. What she later found out the lawyer who represented her gave her no time at all. The other disappointing part was in the video when they asked her appointed lawyer about Stewart’s case, he said he had no knowledge of representing her as his client. Even though his name was on her plea agreement. Though what her court-appointed lawyer did not explain was that he didn’t explain all of the repercussion of taking the guilty pleas. Though in the end this cases was very unethical, and the worst
Before the trial even started, the entire court house was evacuated due to the fire alarm going off. After the building was cleared, we were allowed back in and returned to normal operations. I stayed for half a day of the trial in this case. My first initial observations were that the lawyers from both sides were rather friendly with each other and talked as friends. I also noticed a difference in the way the lawyers performed during the trial. ASA Williams was very calm and collected, very well versed, and did not appear to react in any negative manner when the defense made an objection. In my opinion, PD Scarbrough did a mediocre job during this trial. She appeared to be nervous when she spoke to the judge or the jury, and also when the prosecution made any objection she appeared to get flustered rather quickly. In my opinion, the judge handled the trial extremely well and I feel that she ruled correctly when she made her

The entire trial lasted only a few hours in which the jury’s verdict was not guilty. This didn’t mean no one realized that Roy and Milam were truly
I believed that Rachel Jeantel mess up the case they couldn’t barely hear her, it seemed like she had an attitude and she didn’t want to be involved with the case. Once the lawyer had her to speak up and repeat herself she started to mess up on her words and what she said that happened. While doing a case you’re not supposed to have an attitude that’s what they want you to have so they can dismiss the case.
The health care colleague interviewed, Faith McClure, has about thirty three years experience in the field. She was the Medical/Surgical Director at my facility, and currently a case manager in my office. This is to emphasize her experience and expertise in the medical field. She obviously had strong feelings about pharmaceutical marketing and was happy to contribute.
Like the OJ Simpson trial – the jury loved Racine. To them she was a star the way she treated her mother, her stepmother and her sister. In the most-strange case known in history – Rebecca and Gladys should not have told lawyers that at one they had viewed their capture as a vacation telling the jury they had much more difficult challenges at home than they did vacationing with Racine. That was a mistake. They testified seeing Juice rape Racine in front of them and knew Racine had nothing to do with their kidnapping by the way she acted when Juice told Racine they were there. Under cross examination, Gladys had to tell the truth. She told the court Racine would have let them go but juice would not let her. Gladys admitted Racine took them shopping closing down Nordstrom; Gladys talked about loving the meals the movies they’d seen and despite her son’s death Gladys had to tell the judge that Racine reminded her of the gorgeous Scarlett O’Hara. Gladys said when she got home she figured that it was Racine’s idea to let them go because she knew about that laundry truck. In lieu of her son’s horrible murder – the attorney was intent on Gladys telling the truth. Rebecca testified they’d be able to escape because she felt that Racine left them go intentionally. They told the jury Racine could have easily routed them from the spa to a secured area and didn’t. The jury only took a half hour to say not guilty on all charges for Racine. They asked for footage of her mother’s funeral where Tramaine sang “Going up Yonder” they saw how much Racine loved her mother and what she did for her mother. It was a unanimous decision to let her go. Once Racine, was free her sister and father raced up to hug her not knowing another snake named Carol was intent on Racine going to jail for murder. Carol had been sitting in the back of the court waiting to trump Racine for what she had
People from all walks of life face many ethical dilemmas. These dilemmas have consequences. Our worldview determines how we deal with these dilemmas, and guides us to the right decisions. In this essay, I will examine an ethical issues through my Christian worldview. I will also present other viewpoints, and compare them to mine.
The question of what is truly the nature of justice remains an unanswered question as noted by Bertrand Russell in ‘The History of Western Philosophy’ wherein he notes that Socrates was unable to provide a convincing rebuttal of Glaucon’s arguments on justice, and neither have all the social philosophers since, been able to do. Amartya Sen, in his book ‘The Idea of Justice’, has
“Criminal Justice” is a drama that shows us step by step how the US criminal justice system works, it demonstrates the injustices and irregularities that occur in our justice system. Moreover, a better lawyer could have cross-examined the witness and discredited Denise because she lied saying that she had never been convicted. She was convicted for prostitution, drug possession, and shoplifting. There were no other witnesses to support her testimony and almost all jurors have been victims of crime. This was a case of
I feel it is a person’s choice and it is different than suicide. It has to be well thought out and talked about with a team of people involved including physicians, psychologists, and family. I also think it is based more on
She stood up and the judged asked her if she had been checking in at Southwest that week she admitted she forgot then he said she had to check in for another week. She then said that she had been good about paying her drug court fees and that her fee balance was at zero. He asked how things were going at home and Ashley told the judge that she and her husband had been arguing lately even though the marriage counciling had been going well. She said they had been arguing about the little things like doing the dishes. She also said that she had expected that but she talked about it with her counselor and that they are making a plan that is conducive to her safety plan in order to keep her commitments she has made. The judge asked if she had followed through with meeting with a online school to get her degree she said she had planned on going the next day after group. Judge Leavitt thought it would be good for her and that it will get her excited about life. He asked about her job she said she didn’t like it. The judge then made it clear that she couldn’t quit without his permission because financial stability is important in her situation. She said that she was going to adhere to her plans and court moved
Ethical dilemmas occur when there is a disagreement about a situation and all parties involved question how they should behave based on their individual ethical morals. (Newman & Pollnitz, 2005). The dilemma that I will be addressing in this essay involves Michael, recently employed male educator working in the nursery, and parents of a baby enrolled at the centre. The parents have raised concerns about male educators changing their child’s nappy as they have cultural practices that do not allow this practice to take place. This situation is classed as an ethical dilemma as there is a dispute between cultural beliefs and legal requirements within the workplace. There are four parties involved (parents, child, educator and director), all
Our conscience tries to tell us what is right and what we should do; in short it guides on judging value whereas Eros is more for us to choose the things that we want which includes love. Eros may sometimes go against our conscience for our lust and love of other things. Without balance, there is no integrity of the soul. In order to find balance in Eros and our conscience, we would need to find the middle ground of the two, it is comparable to that of drawing a line in sand where there is no crossing the line. We would need to follow our conscience on what is right but also have the freedom to choose what we want to do. There has to be limitations and that can only be done by strengthening the integrity of a person. As humans, we should not
Ethics can be dangerous to your career. The danger may come not from your own ethics but from the ethics of people around you and the organization of which you are a part. Employees have various moral decisions to make. Many of these decisions should be made on the basis of our moral obligations, but sometimes the morally preferable action could require courage and be performed beyond the call of duty. One defense against involvement in wrongdoing is vocalizing when there are unethical practices being made. While being prepared for organizational challenges that will inevitably test your personal values, moral beliefs, and commitment may be doing the right thing, is it ethical when one’s job is on the line?
“Brad is a production engineer at a bicycle company and part of his job includes inspecting broken bikes and drafting the design repairs for their repair” (Bartlett). Brad is considering replacing a broken brake cable with a more durable material, even though the customer did not request it in their order and specifically requested that “No aesthetic changes be made to the bike” (Bartlett). Brad’s manager suggests that his considered actions would go against the company’s policy of “The customer is always right.” Should Brad disobey the manager and the customer to possibly lose his job or go along with
