Chain of command – This is the order in which authority and power in an organisation is given. Instructions flow downward along the chain of command and accountability flows upward. Delegation- this is authority being passed down from superior to subordinate. A person can delegate the authority for another person to be able to carry out a certain task. However they cannot delegate responsibility. This is because the business is very large and has many layers within the hierarchy. They have that many because since the business is large they would need a lot of people in higher power to run the shops and so it all comes together to be run smoothly.
