From country music star to pop music sensation, Taylor Swift has made a huge impact in the entertainment industry. Her interest in music started when she was a little girl and has blossomed into something millions of fans have appreciated for almost ten years, me being one of those fans. For a lot of young fans, it is more than just the music. Swift has become an icon that people look up to and inspire to be when they are older. Swift is interesting because she is an artist that has battled many things such as bullying and not fitting in at school, some of the very things I struggle with today at age 19; which is why I chose Swift as my celebrity to write. To support her album, she perform 111 shows worldwide. The album sold over 5.7 million albums and she was one of the first people to sell over a million albums in one week. One of Swifts signatures on her songs is that each of them are personal and have some type of message behind it. She writes songs about her past relationships with her famous boyfriends such as Joe Jonas and Harry Styles. She also faced a lot of “Mean” comments from critics. Zack Greenburg states a direct quote from Swift: “There's nothing like writing a song about someone who's really mean to you and makes your life miserable and then winning a Grammy for it.” Swift is usually bold in her interviews and how she presents herself. She is bold because when asked questions about her relationships and music, she does not hold anything back. Some call her style immature due to the fact that she will talk about previous relationships in songs but she is not due to her writing about personal experiences that happen in her life. Writing songs about someone being mean, everyone can relate to it. Everyone has met someone that has been mean in their lifetime and so has Swift. Greenburg notes her astounding ticket sales “After winning her first award in 2010”. Swift's ticket sales “soared 380%, from $125,000 to $600,000. The next year, that number jumped to $1.1 million” (Greenburg). With this success, Swift is known as one of the best touring artist but not only by her sales, but her content as well. Her attitude where she treats everyone with kindness has paid off and is still continuing to pay
