Success is one of those words that does not have a uniform definition that can apply to every circumstance. Success can mean plenty of things; to someone who started out with nothing and gained little, they would see themselves as successful. On the other hand, someone who started off with plenty can have a different idea of success from the person who started with nothing. I am one of those people who started off with nothing; my parents and I immigrated to the United States from Nigeria and to my family back in Nigeria, I am very successful. Yet I see myself doing much more; my definition of success may change over time, but there is one thing that I expect to have in all my ideas of success: Being so successful that your success rubs off on other people who need it. In thirty years, I wish to be in a position, in which I would be able to help people like my family in Nigeria and help people find their own version of success. Another important aspect of my definition of success is being able to keep in touch with the people that helped me reach my version of success. People such as my math teacher, who introduced me to Computer Science, my parents, who taught me many important lessons and helped me create a mindset that allows me to be determined, and my friends, the people I formed study groups with and took classes …show more content…
I need to be able to stand out and have a plan. I may not know what I’ll be doing thirty years from now, but I have a good idea of what I want to do this year and next year. I need to committed to all the things I signed up for this year, such as STEM Club, Pan-African Club, National Honor Society, Student Government Association, being Senior Class President, Robotics Club, Global Kids, and my commitments I have made at my church. All of these different activities will allow to learn how to multitask and manage a busy schedule, things that are necessary to be
Everyone has his own definition of success. For some, success means wealth, power or fame; but for me it means attaining my goals, always giving my best and knowing that I have tried my hardest despite the outcome. Success is not something that reveals itself immediately, it takes time and patience. I would not be the person I am today if I hadn’t received the love and support given to me by my mom and my grandparents. They taught me respect, the importance of family and to believe in myself. Success is about living my best life and being confident about my own decisions.
I define success as trying you're hardest no matter what and persevering through everything that you try. You may not get through the problem that you are having. Even though you didn't complete the challenge that you were having if you got as much out of the task that was placed in front of you, then you have succeeded. I also define success as when you set a goal for you're self or someone else sets a goal for you. If you reach that goal or go above that goal that was set, then you have succeeded. I believe that success is not just finishing you're work, test or challenge, if you finish it but do not do you're best and try you're hardest, then I believe that you are not successful in what you just did, but if you go as hard as you can, not
The definition of success is in the eye of the beholder. More than three-fourths of your life is spent working to become successful. People are told during childhood to work as hard as they can so they can grow up and make lots of money. But the word success can be taken in many different ways. Everyone has a different understanding of what success means to them. Generally, success means fulfilling the goals that you set for yourself. For some, success is measured by popularity and riches; for others success is determined by the amount of happiness that they feel.
“Success is...” This is what success is to me. Success is three dots right after each other also known as an ellipsis. It is a break in a sentence symbolizing in the english language of information that does not need to be stated and can be inferred based on context. Now to me, this ellipsis means I don't know. It means I'm stuck. This definition of success hasn't changed for me for days because to me, success is one of those words that you take for granted and use carelessly throughout your daily speech but when you take a second to know what it means it will have you perplexed.
How do you define success? Most people define success as having the highest level of education or being wealthy. I define success as feeling good about what I have achieved, being independent and supporting myself, and knowing that I have helped someone while achieving my success instead of knocking them down to get there. One way I define success is feeling good about what I have achieved. Like getting promotions, awards, recognition, and raises for my good deeds.
What is success? The definition of success I believe is very personal and will be different for everyone. Success to some people is when they start earning a lot of money, but to me success is when I’ve accomplished the goals to be able to do my dream job. Something that I can look forward to everyday and easily wake up in the morning feeling happy and positive, instead of trying to drag myself out of bed complaining about the day ahead of me. Success is also the feeling of finally being able to give back to my parents, and have them live comfortably. In other words success to me is living a life I can feel proud of.
To accomplish anything there needs to be a plan to get there. This applies to my academic goals and to my career path. No matter what I want I wanted to achieve in life, I needed to have a plan to get there. With my academic goals I needed to focus on what I inspired to be. Throughout my education I had outstanding teachers. Some made a dramatic difference in how I viewed the world and what I wanted to do in life. Before I knew it I saw my dream job play out right before my eyes. I knew that I wanted to make something of myself and hopefully inspire someone to make a change. Now that I work in the field with kids it made my desire to pursue a career in Early Childhood Education.
Personal success is defined by how content and enjoyable your life is. That is not to say that challenges and disappointments aren’t included in this. A rich, eventful and challenging life doing what you enjoy and positively affecting others seems to me to be just about right. Find a job you love and you’ll never work another day in your life. I know I won’t. In my
Success. It comes in various ways. A lot of times people like to base their success on the level of their achievement, I am one of those people. As a perfectionist it’s difficult to maintain a level head when I fail or succeed. Failures occurred to me all the time. Even when success was reached I find myself looking for more. Resilience was the most important life lesson I learned through sports. I taught myself to not give in when I faced an obstacle. Whether it meant going down 2-0 early in a game or having to play a game without my team’s top goal scorer, my resilience was what kept me working till the very end. Throughout my entire soccer career I never really felt success. Of course there were small spurts of successes when it came to
Success means many things to many different people. The definition in the dictionary says it is the “performance or achievement that is marked by success, as by the attainment of honors” ( Dictionary.com. Dictionary.com. Web. 2 Sept. 2015.) therefore, it means that success mostly comes from hard work. To me, that is the exact definition. Having some kind of achievement can come from just about anything; work, sports, school and much more. No matter what, I do believe that whatever I set my mind to, I can and I will succeed in some kind of way.
A seven thousand square foot home fully equipped with state-of-the-art appliances. A Mercedes-Benz parked in the driveway. A six-figure salary. A vacation home large enough to house an average family of four that’s used solely in the summer. What do all of these items have in common? They represent the possessions an American ideal of what success is. In America, bigger is considered to be better, and more is considered to be, well, more. But what is success, anyway? The Oxford Dictionary of English defines success as: The accomplishment of an aim or purpose. If that were the definition that Americans truly believed represented success, then wouldn’t nearly every citizen living in America be considered successful? Everybody has a purpose. Everybody strives to reach their goals and aspirations. Success shouldn’t be represented by materialistic items. Success is a feeling that comes from within and is unique to each individual. Who is anyone to say that a person whose lifelong aim was to own a dog is any less successful than someone whose lifelong dream was to own a law firm? Being successful is being content with one’s life. Therefore, nobody’s definition of success should be the same.
Everybody has set a goal for them self’s one way or another. Whether or not they achieve that goal is a totally different story. People shouldn’t base their goals too high or too low, but in the middle. This is because basing your goal too high would most likely lead to failure, and basing your goals too low will not give you any passion or self-confidence. Goals that are set in the middle aren’t to easy to not give you that confidence boost, and not too hard to complete. Once completing those goals, you will want to set new and harder goals. This to me is my definition of success.
Most people commonly describe success, as being wealthy in life. This is not the meaning entirely, the definition of success is simple. A person is successful, if he or she has very good payment at his or her work and if he or she is happy with the job, they are doing. Education really leads to success. If a person has good education, he or she can choose their careers and be successful at it. Education is a form of learning in which the knowledge and skills is being transferred from a group of people to another or from a generation to the next, through teaching and training. Any experience that has a formative effect on the way someone thinks feels and acts can be said to be educational. Apart from education, other different traits lead
Success is a word that really hard to define, because everyone will have a different definition for this word. In fact, there no exact definition for the word "success". For a student, maybe the success means to pass all courses of the semester; for a business man, signing a importance contract and get a lot of money are successes; and for a president, leading the country to develop and make the people have a better life are success. For me, I also have my own definition for the word "success". When I was a kid, I really want to be a scientist, but after I become mature, my thinking has become more mature and my definition of success also
What is success? Is it the process of doing a task and receiving a positive result acceptable amongst the community, or is it simply achieving ones own personal goals? Success to me can mean many things. Although I am successful in school, that does not necessarily mean I will lead a successful life.
