He was the highest drafted black quarterback ever. That year, Steve signed a contract for $28.4 million for 7 years, and the first thing he did with that money was build a new house for his mom in Mt. Olive, MI. At 22, he was the Oilers highest paid player. In the offseason that year he was tutored intensively. His primary mission in the 95 and 96 season was to absorb knowledge and make the leap to the NFL. During his rookie season when the starting quarterback was injured, Steve played against the Detroit Lions the second half of the game. He completed 16/27 passes for 203 yards including a TD. He started the next 2 games and won both. During 1996, he played 10 games and started 4. The team went 8-8, just missing the playoffs. During the 1997 season, Steve had 674 rushing yards, which was the third highest for a QB in the NFL. He had the second best overall rating of any QB drafted in the last 6 years. In the 1998 season, the Titans placed second in the AFC Central. In 1999 Steve had a fantastic performance against the Bengals in a 36-35 win with 21/32 passing with 341 yards and 3 TD’s. He led Tennessee to the AFC Championship. The Titans moved on to their 1st Super Bowl berth, where they faced the St. Louis Rams. Steve became the second black QB to start in the Super Bowl. Adam Thielen is an NFL wide receiver for the Minnesota Vikings. He played college football for the Mavericks at MSUM as a wide receiver. And unlike most players in the NFL, Thielen was signed a contract with the Minnesota Vikings as a undrafted free agent. Thielen was also one of the first receivers for Vikings to receive for over 1,000 yards in a single season. This great accomplishment could never have been completed without his hard work filled early life and his spectacular years in college.
Almost all defensive backs look up to Taylor. The way he played was nothing like the football played today. Even today, ten years after his death he is still looked up to. “All the guys looked up to him” said Mike Hans, coach of the Atlanta Falcons. Hans didn’t know Taylor but he’s never seen a safety like him. He was all over the field. Some coaches said he has a “nose for the ball,” he just always knew where it was and how to get there. But when he got there he punished whoever had it. Quarterbacks, running backs, and wide receivers have all said that Taylor is the hardest hitter they have ever played. You always had to keep an eye on him during the game. Because if you didn’t you would get blindsided. He was just one of those players. He didn’t go out there to make friends. He went to tackle the ball carrier as hard as he
After Newton’s college career, he certainly raised questions about his ability to make it in the national football league. (NFL) On talent alone, he was the number 1 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft. But many football experts wondered openly if Newton would be worth the investment.

Michael Vick growing up was always very athletic. He was always the fastest and the best at most of the sports that he played. He left after his sophomore year to enter the NFL and was drafted first overall by the Falcons in the 2001 draft, the first African-American quarterback ever to be taken first overall. During his tenure with Atlanta, Vick was selected to three Pro-Bowls. The Atlanta Falcons made him the first player selected. Vick became the Falcons’ starting quarterback his second season. He helped Atlanta reach the playoffs in 2002 and the conference championship game in 2004 (“Vick”). During that time Michael Vick on
Tom Brady deserves to be on my ESPN magazine cover because he the greatest football player of all time. He is a 5x Super Bowl Champion, 4x Super Bowl MVP, and a 12x time Pro Bowler. Tom Brady has conquered an enormous amount of adversity. Tom Brady struggled to earn a starting spot at the University of Michigan throughout his college career. After he finished college, he continued to face adversity in the NFL. At the combine Brady was seen as one of the lowest quarterbacks in the combine. He ran a 5.28 on the 40 yard dash and this combine report was written about him: poor build, skinny, lacks great physical stature and strength, lacks mobility and ability to avoid the rush, lacks a really strong arm, can’t drive the ball downfield, does not

Manning was talked up to be a great player, and he has proved himself throughout the years. While already being one of the most known quarterbacks in NFL history, Peyton is also considered by many to be the greatest of all time. Peyton Manning is the best quarterback in NFL history because of the following: he's humble on and off the field, he's resilient through neck injuries and surgeries, and he holds a lot of NFL records.

At Norte Dame, Kizer threw for 5589 yards, 45 touchdowns, 18 interceptions with a quarterback rating of 148.75 along with rushing for 1029 yards and 17 touchdowns. With a quarterback class headlined my Michell Trubisky and Deshawn Watson, it comes to no surprise that Kizer was 4th quarterback picked in the draft after Trubisky Watson and Patrick Mahomes. Coming out of college, Kizer was rated high by a lot of NFL Scouts calling him the fourth best quarterback in the
