This mission, to me, means that The University of St. Thomas is committed to their students. It shows that the college truly cares about their students and their success. Not only does the staff want all of the students to graduate from St. Thomas but, also become a better person while they are there. They want the students to become smarter, not only in knowledge of books, but also in life. The goal is to create well rounded students who can be morally responsible and make good decisions on their own. By bettering the students while they are there, the students can then go out into the real world and change things, making our world better. I believe that by St. Thomas educating their students, they will not only make a change in the students'
By aligning with these belief, they are able to strategically put them into action throughout the university in order to carry out their mission. They aim to
How can a mission statement alter an institution, community, and its individuals? The University of Saint Francis has five Franciscan Values: Reverence the unique dignity of each person, encourage a trustful, prayerful community of learners, serve one another, society, and the church, foster peace and justice, and respect creation. These values prompt change and growth along with providing a set of standards for students and staff. The values are inspired by Saint Francis himself, and lived out today with a contemporary Franciscan saint, Mother Angelica. Being a student at a Catholic institution is a beautiful experience that helps grow an individual holistically.
His school was strengthening the students academic excellence and developing social responsibility. He already failed three others schools and this one is the fourth one he attended. When Holden was attending Pencey, he failed four out of the five classes. He got a notice stating that he was being expelled. The mission statement fits in with this statement because it's states "It is committed to strengthening religious faith, promoting academic excellence and developing social responsibility" (Pope John)
The decision as to what the school’s mission statement should be is often defined by the type of school and its outside links. For example, a faith school would more than likely include reference to its church or God. This would be reflected in the school’s practices in the form of daily worship or prayer and visits to its

Junipero Serra was essentially the founder of the mission system and he set much of the precedent as to how the missions would run and treat the indigenous people. Serra’s work on the missions had large effects on the native people besides just spreading Christianity to the New World. More recently, Serra’s canonization has been a rather controversial topic due to the history surrounding his treatment of the natives and the overall results of the missions. The Catholic Church is aware of this history and still chose to make Junipero Serra a saint even with the protests by different Native American groups. However, the Catholic Church feels they have good reason as to why Serra is considered a saint regardless of these arguments. This is an
Thanks Vanessa, you did a great job defining the role and use of supervision. I did not know if you noticed that Our Lady of the Lake mission’s statement is in perfect line with the social worker code of ethics. I would like to share what I found in similarity with our mission statement. According to the National Association of Social Work (2010), the mission of the social work profession is rooted in a set of core values. These core values, embraced by social workers throughout the professions’ history, are foundation of social work’s unique purpose and perspective. Service, Social justice, Dignity, Dignity and worth of the person, Importance of human relationships, Integrity, and Competence. This constellation of core values reflects what is unique to the social work profession. According to Kiser (2012) the field supervisor is key to student learning in any human services internship. Ideally, supervisory relationships are based on trust and mutual understanding. Great job and good luck.

The Society of St Vincent De Paul are a voluntary organization with the catholic church. St Vincent de Paul society strive to achieve there goal, which is to educate Catholic social teaching, and to apply the knowledge they have in catholic social teaching to help and find a way to care for others. St Vincent de Paul let no injustice go unchallenged and mention in their mission statement saying that they aspires to live the gospel message by serving Christ in the poor with love, respect, justice, hope and joy, and by working to shape a more just and compassionate society.
I believe it is straightforward and direct towards students and faculty members. The school’s mission statement is really an advocate towards students succeeding by with the different objectives. I have been fortunate to have wonderful and understanding professors who care and acknowledge me. I learned multicultural and international perspectives from each of my classes such as values, ethics, and cultural engagement. Overall, CI truly motivate me and challenge me to be vigorous and honest. I understand that the school has dilemmas such as class schedules, and limited parking capacity. However, over the years, I learned that there is no perfect society. Schools will continue to obtain dilemmas, therefore, I strive in taking advantage of the opportunities that the school has to
As a Catholic community we must seek to live the life that Christ has shown us, to serve rather than be served. Our daily lives must begin and end with the love for God. And with our strong faith community, we can achieve greatness in all that we do.
I believe the school endeavours to provide as much variety of opportunity as possible to allow each child to find something they are good at. The mission and aims show that the school recognises the diverse nature of its children and families, and their individual faiths, cultures and abilities and encourages its

Earning my undergraduate degree from Seattle University has opened a lot of doors and has expanded my ability to reflect on my life, my intellectual progress and my purpose to find direction. My persistence and determination to advance my education is to increase my knowledge, to become a successful leader and to enhance my contribution to society. In order for me to have a true academic rigor, I believe having the integrity of the Jesuit teaching could help me understand and guide me through the process. I have always found a personal and a professional sense of purpose from a Jesuit tradition.
