‘Discipline is a practice of knowledge and preparation that extend self control, regulation and character’s efficiency. In other words, discipline means the process of educating people to follow rules using punishment to accurate disobedience.’ Self discipline means the capability to control someone’s feelings and to overcome weaknesses. It is allegation of determination over desires and more specifically it is frequently understood to be the synonym of self control so self discipline to some degree, we can say a replacement for mental maturation.

These rules and regulations can be defined as classify the specified standard of clothing, punctuality, social behavior i.e. how to behave socially and moral ethics and also sets number of punishments in case of violations of these sets of rules and regulations. For these reasons, school discipline guarantees the fulfillment of laws. The basic aim is to organize the actions and behaviors of students. An obedient student is in conformity with the rules and code of conducts of school. At an educational level, where there is a cut throat competition and time is very valuable, school discipline can be very helpful and plays a crucial role to overcome the obstacles because this make the students self discipline which will in turn help a student to climb heights of academic excellence. Many times there is a serious conflict between the school authorities and parents on these issues. As Parents wants the environment where the child’ performance will improve putting less burden on child. So in most cases, child suffers because of these conflicts. So the purpose of the study is to seek out a workable approach for the solution of such conflicts. Discipline should be enforced in such a way that it should be likeable for
Discipline is very important for anyone who is part of the Uniformed Public Services. Discipline is put in place to maintain order and to make sure that everyone works to the best of their abilities. All the services are organised in a similar way with a clear rank structure and clearly defined roles and responsibilities, which all rely on discipline to work effectively.
Discipline is important in most aspects of line, discipline is the practice of training people to obey rules and regulations, whilst using appropriate punishment to correct mistakes and disobedience. We use discipline to keep social and working order so that there are no complications. Discipline teaches people correct ways to act so that goals are reached and encourage people to accept responsibility in life. Discipline is not to get mixed up with punishment. Punishment is the consequence of not following rules and regulations.
I believe that each child is unique individual who needs a secure, caring, and stimulating atmosphere in which to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially. It is my desire as an educator to help students meet their fullest potential in these areas by providing an environment that is safe, supports risk-taking, and invite a sharing of ideas. There are three elements that I believe are conducive to establishing such an environment namely, the teacher acting guide, allowing the child’s natural curiosity to direct his/her learning, promoting respect for all the things and all the people.
Discipline is the quality of being able to behave and work in a controlled way which involves obeying particular rules or standards. However, it can be interpreted in an alternative way; if you refer to an activity or situation as a discipline, you mean that, in order to be successful in it, you need to behave in a strictly controlled way and obey particular rules or standards. Punishment can be used to correct disobedience in some circumstances.
Students all have their own personalities, which affects their actions within the classroom. Many times, a students’ behavior is caused by outside factors causing them to act out with disruptive behaviors and disciplinary issues. During these times, a teacher must have a behavior management approach to deter similar behaviors in the future. Many first time teachers are unable to handle dealing with the behaviors and leave their jobs making it all the more important to come up with an effective behavior management approach to curtail those worrisome behaviors before it gets to that point (Sugai, 2009). In an effort to thoroughly discuss an efficient behavior management approach, a common disciplinary problem within classroom and the foundation of the issue will be considered. A combination of approaches may be to needed to stop behavioral issues, such as providing motivation and establishing rules and procedures in a clear way will deter behavioral issues. Finally, an in-depth look at the steps needed in order to implement the approach into the classroom.
One very simple word that describes discipline is training. A child is not born with the knowledge of what is acceptable or expected. A parent must invest their own time and patience while showing love and exemplary behavior while molding their children into becoming well behaved (Child Abuse vs. Discipline). Being a parent is a hard enough job already, but when it comes to being a parent having to discipline your child, it becomes much harder. It takes time for a child to learn and process new behaviors, and this is a reason a parent must not have a short fuse when it comes to discipling their children.
With discipline is all about reinforcing positive behaviors. One example can be to give out praises when a positive social behavior has been shown and encourage to continue the behavior. As the previous example that I used, if the parents had explained that it is not appropriate to hit or throw things at people. Then the child would have learned that what he did was wrong and would likely learn not to do it again if he is given an acceptable consequence to his behavior. When disciplining a child they must receive a consequence that is appropriate for his or her age.
Discipline is the most useful quality. It means to act in an orderly manner, to act strictly according to principle. Discipline involves the ability to obey and follow simple task, orders, or request. Discipline is something you acquire through years of being taught, from young to old discipline should be a huge factor of your life. It should be something you live by and use often. Discipline leads to success in everything you do from school, or sports as a child or teenager to your career as an adult. If you use discipline in school or athletics you’ll be a better student, getting good grades. If you use discipline in athletics you gain success in being a recognized athlete which can lead to
My prior understanding of discipline was uneducated and inaccurate. I was certain that discipline was related to punishment and the goal was to have a particular unwanted behavior to cease. A child that required discipline would be singled out, scolded, forced to perform a chore or action, such as sit for a time out, or the child would have something taken away, such as television or toys. As a child, I grew up in a household with parents who were primarily authoritative. They tended to be fair; however they did use punishment through "grounding", which generally meant that we were not able to engage in fun for set period of time. Other times, we were instructed to perform some sort of labor of their choice, such as washing my Dad's
nowadays school systems, such as the conflict between the parents and teachers, the argument of school suspension, and relationship between students’ expression of freedom and the school discipline.
The word discipline comes from the Latin word disciplīna which means "to instruct". Discipline is a specific form of instruction which develops self-control, character, and efficiency.
Disciplines related to nature, decency and morality. School discipline is to ensure that students and the campus staff are safe and peaceful. According to the U.S. Department of Education on Rethinking Discipline (2017), “Teachers and students deserve school environments that are safe, supportive, and conducive to teaching and learning.” The idea is to decrease bad behavior and school violence which will lead to fewer suspensions and expulsions. There are rules and limitations when it comes to student discipline; there are acts in which students can and must be disciplined. For examples, if a student quality’s for special needs some different guidelines protect them under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act’s (IDEA). Furthermore, the Education Code, Section 48900 was implied to discipline students who committed any wrongful doing such as attempting or threatening to physical harm another person. In the case f any wrongfulness, the student is forced to be disciplined by being suspended or expulsed from school.
Frequent communication with families which includes positive information makes school wide discipline effective (T.L.Musy, Personal communication, October 3rd, 2006). Consistency is an important element in school wide discipline. Rules applied consistently through out the school are easy for students to learn. An effective teacher learns school rules and procedures before the year begins. This would be helpful for the teacher to set up her/his own classroom discipline plan (Evertson, Emmer, and Worsham, 2006).
