What is friction? Friction is the force resisting the motion of two surfaces sliding against each other. In snowboarding friction is present when the snowboard slides across the snow or ice. It can have two states either static or kinetic, in this case there is static friction since the two materials remain still and in contact with one another. Materials play a big factor when it comes to friction, their engineer have done research and found that fiber glass is most suitable for the snowboards top sheet, which is the surface that comes in contact with the snow. Although snowboarding cannot become friction less, as technology advances it is becoming more and more exceptionally friction
To someone that has never set foot in an ice rink it is slippery. The ice under your blades scrape with every move you make. When I was a kid
The two different types of friction that affected the performance of our vehicle was the concrete floor and the elastic band winded around the axel. We first used the elastic band connected with string but we changed it after not the first test.
The two types of friction of the mousetrap car are rolling friction and static friction are the two types of friction that may affect the performance of the mousetrap car. The problem of the friction did I encounter and how do you solve them one types of friction i encounter was the static friction I had to take off some glue from the stick that had my wheels and to open eye screws. The factor did take into account to decide the number of wheels you decide to chose for the mousetrap car I saw a video of a car that had 4 wheels and it ran really fast, so I thought a 4 wheeled car would run fast or at least the four meters. What kind of wheels did I use in each axles I use tires as my wheels on each axles. I think the affects on using big wheels
The coefficient of kinetic friction, or the μk, is equal to FF/FN while the materials are in motion, sliding across the other surface. In this case, the FF on each object is exerted in the direction opposite to the direction of its motion. The values of μk vary greatly between different combinations of objects. Most dry materials have values of μk between .3 and .6, and in some rare cases values as low as .04. Wet materials have even more varied values of μk – for example, waxed wood on wet snow has a μk of .1, while ice on ice has a μk of .03, and joints inside of the human body, which have very little friction as they move against each other, have values of μk around .003.
Drag, when air passes around the bob-sled it creates drag. This drag slows the bob-sled down. To minimize the amount of drag the bob-sled undergoes,

Cite a source for this? Moses gained his social and religious leadership within the Israelites as God spoke to him and commanded him later on in the Book of Exodus to lead the Israelites out of Egyptian slavery to freedom.
Throughout time, the progression and evolution of snowboarding has increased greatly. It has gone from non existence in the late 1970’s, to one of the most watched action sports in a matter of thirty-five years. The upward takeoff and popularity of snowboarding relies on two people, Jake Burton and Shaun White. Jake Burton back in 1977 had the vision for what snowboarding would be, but Shaun White had what it took to manifest that vision. Evidence has shown that time brings change in sports, history has repeated itself with snowboarding, this history reflects the time & changes that has occurred in America.
Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson takes place in a not-so-distant future, but the technology is much more advanced than modern technology. Virtual reality has taken the world by storm in what’s called the Metaverse, a place where computer users, which is only about 10% of the world at this point, can be anything they want. Users of the Metaverse can pick an avatar to be and then walk all around the Metaverse, interacting with other users that are standing in a room halfway across the world. Stephenson’s descriptions of this innovative world are built upon science that is extremely advanced but still credible. Stephenson illustrates realistic, common technological structures that are still more futuristic than modern technology to draw the reader into the Metaverse and world of Snow Crash.
As everyone knows, ice hockey is played on ice, which makes it an extremely high paced game. Unlike ice hockey, Roller hockey is played on a plastic floor that consists of many six-inch by six-inch tiles. The plastic floor makes roller hockey a much slower paced game than ice hockey. The reason that roller hockey is so much slower than ice hockey is because there is more friction. The friction is produced in the
1. Since we live in Munster In, we are always in a cold weather and its always snowing in the winter. Wrangler is one of the best four-wheel drive and one of the safest cars in a snowing weather.
The physics of skiing and snowboarding are very similar. They both rely on a downwards pull from gravity. This pull is what turns the potential energy into kinetic energy. As a smooth surface (or two) pass over the snow a small amount of energy is lost to friction. The bottom of the skis or board zoom across the surface of the snow creating heat. The heat along with the weight bearing down on the snow melt some of the snow creating a film of water on the bottom of the surface. Some energy is also lost by through wind resistance of the riders silhouette.
Lastly, in 2015 about 10,000 people died and 290,000 were injured by being involved in drunk driving crashes. To think that most of these innocent people were just going on about their business and got into a car crash because of someone else's mistake is heartbreaking. Every death, and every injury not only affects the people that were in the crash, but it affects their family, and friends. In 2014, 209 children under 14 died while being in a vehicle with an impaired driver. Drunk driving causes unnecessary fatalities, and since the victims were completely innocent and did nothing wrong, the drunk driver should be given a harsh penalty, for not being responsible and making the wrong decision.
The science behind friction is friction is a resistance between surfaces sliding together. Basically friction converts kinetic energy into heat and if the surface is rough the friction will increase. Without friction life would be like a hockey table, also friction
In this globalize world getting good from one place to another in the most efficient and cost effective way is very important. In the United States, there is high demand for goods that are produced in Asia, Europe, and South America. Some American companies have their goods produced in other countries across the globe because it is more cost efficient, but how does these goods get from these locations to the United States? That is where intermodal transportation comes into play. Intermodal transportation is the transportation of goods involving different carriers during a single Journey.
The coefficients of friction for this experiment were controlled by using the internet to find separate coefficients for the surfaces and objects used. A surface coefficient and the object coefficient were then added together and the answer was divided by two in order to find a final average coefficient.
