“Amazing feedback to your students in 2 hours. Powered by expert, on-demand graders.”
For those who prefer high-quality feednack from real and dedicated teachers, Gradiate seems to be the solution. But is it? Though Gradiate has its amazing parts, it doesn't grade as desirably as you'd think.
Although the feedback Gradiate gives is impressive and on a higher level, the feedback itself isn't suitable for grade level. In my 7th grade class, my teacher expressed to our class how many students' reviews were marked as "ungradeable", however were perfectly gradeable suing a seventh grade rubric. For my classmates who do receive feedback, all agree the feedback is more suitable for say, high schoolers. Its quite a shock for a student who gets a 4/4 on typical essays to receive a grade of a 1 or 2 out of 4 on Gradiate. Sure, Gradiate has qualified teachers, but maybe not qualified for varied grade levels.

Once, just to see how Gradiate works, I submitted a paper around 8. When I checked back around 11:30, my paper was still awaiting review. What concerns me about this is the fact that Gradiate is sending this idea that they give impressive feedback within two hours, but in reality, Gradiate gives feedback whenever they can, but not necessarily within 2 hours.
Gradiate definitely has its remarkable sides. However, I'd rate Gradiate a 2/5 due to the fact Gradiate claims to give fast and reliable feedback, but in reality gives feedback when they can, and usually the feedback isn't justifiable for grade
Michael Thomsen argues against the A-F grading system in his essay “The Case Against Grades.” Thomsen even goes as far to say that the A-F grading system is to blame for the difficulty in reforming American education (1). He supports his conclusion with a few thought-provoking studies and statistics, but overall there are holes in his argument and he does not offer a realistic alternative. Thus, I disagree with Thomsen’s conclusion as I think that the A-F grading system is currently the best method for the United States to use.

Answer: I like Mr.Acevedo but I still think we should be prepared for tests. This is the only thing I don’t like about the way he teaches.

02 Assessment task – Communication and professional relationships with children, young people and adults. Explain why effective communication is important in developing positive relationship In order to contribute to positive relationships, effective communication is vital. By communicating effectively, we are encouraging a good relationship, be it with children, young people or adults. This means we are more likely to talk about things that need to be discussed.
For this week, I was required to read chapter 5, 6, and 7 in the "A history of the personal computer: the people and the technology " online book. This week's reading was much more easier and understandable than last week's readings. These chapters were about computer companies in the 1970s and what they did. It was interesting to read about these computer companies' humble beginnings. It was especially interesting because the two biggest computer companies right now, Microsoft and Apple, were so thoroughly covered in the chapters. Aside from that, I was able to read about flow charting by Bill Streib, who did a great job in explaining it. Even though the paper was mostly filled with pictures and diagrams, it was still a good read. I was also able to read about pseudo code, and find out about it's advantages and disadvantages. After reading and testing pseudo code and flowcharts, I feel that I would be more in the pseudo code camp. Personally pseudo code is easier for me.
According to a simple version of the model, a large city can be divided into six zones. Zone one, closest to the CBD, is where tertiary employment is highest and public transport is the most available, making this zone very accessible. Zone two, extremely close to the CBD, is where many industrial activities are located because of the easy access to nearby labour and markets. Many transport facilities locate here, such as railyards and ports. Zone three generally contains the poorest section of the population, with many immigrants living in this zone, often in un-satisfactory living conditions. Zone four is a mostly residential zone for the working class. It has the advantage of being located closely to the major places of employment, which
One assessment I have in mind we would always taking was the fcat. annual test given to students in grades 3-11 that measures their skills in the areas of reading, math, science and writing according to Florida's Sunshine State Standards. I wasn’t always doing great on their .I like taking the ACT better .I score better and
Analysis the peer assignment closely and make sure all instruction were followed and if any questions were include, answered in a complete thorough way. Studies have shown that unless your graded on the assessment, students tend to not assess. When assessments are graded the task gets done. For most students most reviews had been useful, especially reviews being anonymous, which allowed some of the assessors to be “ruthless”. Text feedback was valued more than marks (Brown, Sambell and McDowell,
The grade I have earned in English 101 is an “A”. I have earned this grade as a result of the essays, corrections, and quizzes I haves completed throughout the semester. In addition, some fudge factors such as not having any absences and constantly participating in class help support the grade I have earned.
Suppose that P.V. Ltd. paid a dividend of $10 at the end of year 1 (any portion of
I have experience with standard referenced grading in helping students learn the key material in class to mastery over time of specific outcomes. At the beginning of each unit I give the students a detailed rubric, that is referenced throughout the unit consistently. My students are tested and reassessed to mastery in various ways including but not limited to test, projects, discussions, reports, etc. Students are also given a plan for reassessment set as a team with the student, parents, and me. At all times the student, parent, and me have an accurate picture of student strengths and weaknesses thru productive feedback.
In order to evaluate the State’s Learning Standards at the student, school, district, and State levels and to meet the requirements of the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB), standardized tests are given each year. The tests are necessary to monitor student progress and ensure students are prepared for the next year of study (NYSED, 2006). Tests administered to math students in grades 3-8 will help identify struggling students who may need additional assistance. It is recommended that schools base decisions regarding success or retention of a student on multiple assessments and not solely the achievement of a New York State Test (NYSED, 2006).
This is an example of how you took initiative because after I realized there was an issue I brought it up with my colleagues. I then made the rubric and shared it with my colleagues for them to use. This year we feel our district is asking us to recreate everything. We each take a task and then share it with each other. We now have a filing cabinet in our work room to store/ share everything we have been creating with each other such as assessments and standards rubrics. Since then I have made several rubrics like the example I have attached and have shared them with my colleagues.
Assessment enables educators to provide feedback to their learners, this in turn promotes self-evaluation by the learner, as they use the assessment feedback to scrutinise and make judgements about the quality of their work (Spiller, 2009:6 & 7).
