The grade I have earned in English 101 is an “A”. I have earned this grade as a result of the essays, corrections, and quizzes I haves completed throughout the semester. In addition, some fudge factors such as not having any absences and constantly participating in class help support the grade I have earned. In the beginning of the semester (first four papers), my thesis was both clear and supported as each essay was handed in to be evaluated. On the other hand, my mechanics within my essays were always weak. I received countless grades that consisted of “A” for the thesis portion of the essay, and usually “F” for my mechanic’s portion. This poor grade which levels out to a grade of “C” left me confused because I always received “A’s” in high
I felt that I put a great deal of effort toward the grade that I wanted, through my strict self discipline in my class effort. I was extremely critical when I was reading novels and stories, editing essays, and writing essays. Moreover, I was able to improve my writing and analyzation
In English 1102 students will learn many different techniques throughout the course to understand and compose an analysis on an array of topics. After the course is over it is up to the students to apply what they have learned to everyday life. Many students throughout this course have questioned why they have to learn this material and that it will not even help them in the real world, but they are wrong. Each and everyday people should look at the deeper meaning and analyze situations very carefully or else one may find themselves being deceived. Being able to analyze is a very important skill no matter what career choice you choose. In this course the material assigned also had many life lessons in them. A great example of a reading assignment
In Honors English (3rd and 5th), ask students to turn in yesterday’s assignment. They have a test on “A Problem” today, so they should log into their pearson accounts online and take the test. I will check their scores and put them in Skyward asap. Once their test is finished please have them read pages 78-79 in the literature book. Their assignment is to read “Like the Sun” (pgs 80-84) and “The Open Window” (pgs 85-88). They should be looking for instances of paradoxes and irony during each reading. They need to complete the critical thinking questions on pages 84 and 88.
The five-minute warning bell goes off. I rush to my first class of my junior year, eager to see my classmates, who I was going to spend the rest of the 9 months with. I find myself stumbling into a classroom plastered with decorations of Denzel Washington with a Dr. Seuss book in his hand, a t and college flags galore. My AP English 11 class suddenly seemed so appealing to me. As a beautiful, curly haired short lady stood in front of me and said “Welcome to AP English 11,” I knew that I had found a treasure so much greater than just a pretty classroom. Little did I know, that short lady was going to inspire me throughout my challenge filled second-to-last year of high school.
In the past two months i fell like i have accomplished a great deal. As i focus on it more i realize i have become a better reader. I did this by concentrating on my readings and take my time to read them. With the help of my professor and classmates i began to analyze what i read.
In conclusion, we have learned a lot about diversities and different cultures in this English 1050 class, including all the different students that we learned about through the weekly discussions. I love to read the weekly post because everyone has different opinions that I can learn. I came from Asia and living in America, and I think in my life experience, I experienced a lot about the diversity and ethnicity issue. To change that and use Ethnicity to bring people together is the big issue nowadays. Might to find some common ground and realize we are all the same. At the very core of our being, we are people, and it is up to us to find ways we can unite and become stronger as a complete whole. Finally, thanks for everyone who fought with
During my first quarter in Honors English 10, I have had my deal of frustration and struggles with the class, along with some success and prosperity. I have found many of my strengths, and plenty of my weaknesses; that I would enjoy building upon for the rest of the school year to come. Although the profuse advice provided by many of my teachers and peers is absolutely valuable (and appreciated), I fancy finding my own way to complete tasks; though it may be an insufficient way.
English 111 has been a great course so far. I have been learning new material that will help me to improve my comprehensive English skills, such as speaking, reading and writing. In this course, we have covered many topics that usually are not presented or introduced to students in younger agers. Sexual harassment is one of the sensitive topics that we have discussed in details. I personally did not fully know what is the true definition of sexual harassment and what form of actions or phrases that we could say that would considered to be forms of sexual harassments or harassments in general. During lectures, we have looked cases of sexual harassments and how we can educate ourselves and be aware of this issue that our communities facing. Student were assigned to draw their thoughts and what they have
In the past, I was able to get a good grade in my English courses without writing particularly strong papers. In ENGL 105, however, I was forced to put effort into my writing. Unlike ENGL 105, for which 90% of the grade is based on writing, my high school English classes had more lenient grading by including assignments such as reading quizzes, vocabulary quizzes, grammar exams, and Socratic seminar discussions. As a result, I was able to write mediocre essays and still receive an A for the overall class
January of 2017 I started taking an English Comp II class. I was very hesitant about it because I knew I wasn't so good in writing. Coming into the class with a little bit of knowledge was good but I still am not a good writer or where I should be at this point. All the assignments the teacher give is kind of complicated for me because i just can’t come up with ideas to help me start and get through my paper. I wish i could focus better and be able to write papers.
Everybody must have some sort of embarrassing story to tell their children as they get old. These stories just happen to be something that always occurs in each of our lives. Stories like these help us grow and become better people, but they may also help laughter or comfort one in need. Just like in the anecdotes, from 7th grade and Girls. Both of these narratives provide laughter and smiles on faces. However, the accounts provide different humors for the readers.
My current in ENG 101 is a C(79), That is a decent grade but it is not grade I believe I deserve. I believe I deserve a B in the class. I have some problems as writer and the skills I learned in this class have helped me improve my writing. I am so used to focusing on content rather than grammar and mechanics , that has been my downfall in other classes not just this one but I am working on improving my skills as a writer.
English 111 introduces students to critical thinking and the fundamentals of academic writing. This is a prerequisite English class for higher-level English education. By the end of this course a student will have gained a great deal of practice in the craft of writing. This essay will evaluate the English 111 textbooks, essays, self-reflections, the instructor, and what I personally learned.
I am pleased with my current grade in my English class. I currently have an A in the class and will continue to work hard to keep it that way. The reason for my grade is because I make it a priority to read the chapters assigned in class, attend my lab sessions on Fridays at 9 a.m., along with getting help from tutors here on campus in the Learning Resource Center(LRC). I came into English 1A with the goal of getting an A in the class. With currently holding a high percentage in the class, I need to remain focused, as I know how easy it is for my grade to drop.
Firstly, to deserve a good grade because, I successfully complete all my essays and I have learnt a lot from my professor i.e. how to use the framing for the essay, how to use the transitions in a sentence and I have improved a lot and I am able to know my mistake by the feedback which the professor gave to me. I am able to express my skill in writing my essays orally by doing some research work before I write my essay. for example, I have submitted my essay and the professor grade me and have given some feedback about my essay so that I could know my mistakes and will correct them in further to improve. By following the guidelines from the friends and clarifying the doubts and
