Yes, I previously applied during the 2016-2017 cycle. Since then, I have pursued opportunities to move into other healthcare settings so that I could learn more about patient care and diversify my hands-on experiences. To do this, I earned my Certified Nursing Assistant certificate and transitioned from working as a physical therapist aide to a new position as a phlebotomist and administrative medical assistant for a diagnostic laboratory.

Teenagers have enough stress as it is right? Adolescence is an awkward time of transition from childhood to adulthood which can be more than scary for most. Between spending time with family, making friends, doing homework, participating in sports or other recreational activities, and growing up in general, who has time to get a job? Although it can add to the stress of teenage life, getting a job has more pros than cons. Shacondra Burnette is the spark that ignited my fire to pursue the nursing field. A close family relative and hard-working passionate woman, she had gotten me my first job as a personal care assistant. Even without certification I was making great money and gaining a new experience in the nursing field. After being at it for a year straight, I decided to take it further and get my certification as a nursing assistant.
