In response to a recent job opening, I am writing to apply for the Certified Nursing Assistant position at Arbrook Plaza. After reading the job description on Arbrook Plaza’s website, I am confident that I meet these requirements. Therefore, becoming a part of the CNA team means believing in helping others who cannot help themselves or need further assistance. I am a full-time pre-nursing student currently enrolled at the University of Texas at Arlington. I obtained my Certified Nursing Assistant certification when I was at Central High School in Keller, Texas. Working at Heartland Nursing Home over the summer of 2016 has shown my strengths and weaknesses and I continue to learn as I volunteer at Heartland Hospice. Overall, I enjoy working
I am a Family Nurse Practitioner Student (FNP) at Frontier Nursing University (FNU). My passion to care for people was evident when I was growing up and I knew I wanted to become a nurse and care for the sick when I cared for my grandmother who was not feeling well. After high school, I started my career as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CAN) and worked with the elderly population which I really enjoyed. I worked as a CNA as I enrolled to school and earned my Associate degree in nursing in 2011. As an RN, I continued to work in a nursing home and rehab facility with the elderly as I decided to pursue my BSN. Upon completion of my BSN I found a job at a hospital in cardiac telemetry heart failure unit where I enjoy working as I care for people.
The Certified Nursing Assistant program started this year with a new instructor, Karla Garrison RN BSN. Karla was previously one of the state board of nursing examiners and tested our students last year. After being impressed with our students and our program as well as the opportunity to make a difference Karla joined our team. Under her leadership we have transferred to a new curriculum and new text books that are more focused on meeting the Arizona state board exam requirements.
Yes, I previously applied during the 2016-2017 cycle. Since then, I have pursued opportunities to move into other healthcare settings so that I could learn more about patient care and diversify my hands-on experiences. To do this, I earned my Certified Nursing Assistant certificate and transitioned from working as a physical therapist aide to a new position as a phlebotomist and administrative medical assistant for a diagnostic laboratory.
My job as a certified nursing aide or CNA is to give direct care both medical and non-medical to patients. CNA’s can work at various healthcare facilities including hospitals, outpatient departments, long term facilities, clinics, and private home. CNA’s speed a huge time in taking and recording patient vitals, collecting specimens, and providing care for patient’s needs and wants. I myself work in a hospital. Some of the main equipment used to help me perform my job is gloves, masks, protective clothing (such as throw away gowns, hair nets, shoe covers), and face shields. These items are very important as a CNA and help protect you and the patient you are caring for. The largest piece of machinery or equipment I use is a lift, called a Hoyer
I am a proud employee at Scripps Mercy Hospital and have been here since 2012 working as a CNA. I have recently been accepted to San Diego City college Associate Degree Nursing program. Since the age of 16 I knew nursing was my calling. I attended a local community college as part of a program in high school and earned my Nursing assistant certificate. I have worked extremely hard to get where I am today and earning this degree would mean the world to me. This degree would allow me to contribute my skills as an RN to provide efficient, effective patient-centered care at Scripps health.
I am currently a student at the University of South Carolina wanting to obtain my Bachelors of Science in Nursing. I am a very determined student and strive for excellence. I believe I will be an asset to the medical field by providing patients with excellent care and to the extraordinary opportunities within the medical field. If I were to be hired to work for you, I would provide the workplace with many beneficial characteristics such as, demonstrating great teamwork and being able to make patients feel satisfied with their healthcare.
Certified Nurse Assistants have a vital role in the medical field today. CNA’s jobs require training; either in the form of a degree or certificate program. Completing these programs can lead to a higher salary and move job opportunities. A Certified Nursing Assistant has many duties that they are the ones that spend the most time with the patient. The CAN is trained to properly help the disabled patient get around to where they need to
Have you ever looked at one of your grandparents? I mean really, really looked at them. I 'm not talking about looking at the wrinkles lining their faces, the silver and white covering their hair, or their beaten and battered bodies that make it hard for them to live. I 'm talking about that look in Grandma 's eyes when, together, you look at pictures of her children when they were younger. I 'm talking about the way Grandpa, unconsciously, sits up straighter or stands a little taller when you ask him about his time serving his country. You may see a sweet, loving, elderly couple when you see them, but when they look in the mirror, you can bet they still see the young, vibrant, courageous kids they once were.
In the medical field there is a great variety of careers to specialize. The most known employees in a hospital setting or even in a doctor’s office, will be a nurse. According to aacn.nche.edu, Almost 66% of Registered Nurses work in hospitals, many also are more advanced in their practices and work in doctor’s offices. When entering a field like nursing, numerous classes of science are taken. Nurses perform numerous skills that include starting IVs, giving medications to patients, keeping patients alive, and also monitoring medical changes pertaining to the health of their patient.
Teenagers have enough stress as it is right? Adolescence is an awkward time of transition from childhood to adulthood which can be more than scary for most. Between spending time with family, making friends, doing homework, participating in sports or other recreational activities, and growing up in general, who has time to get a job? Although it can add to the stress of teenage life, getting a job has more pros than cons. My experience working as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Morgantown Care and Rehabilitation Center has been a learning experience about responsibility, patience, and compassion.
A Nursing assistant fulfills the basic quality of life needs for patients of any age in residential nursing care facilities or outpatient centers. Responsibilities of a CNA vary based on employment. CNAs can be employed in many different settings, such as nursing homes, hospitals, personal homes or anywhere else personal care is needed. Nursing Assistants act as helpful link between nurse and the patient. In many cases, the nursing assistant is the eyes and ears for the nurse, relaying information between nurse and many patients. Becoming a CNA is a serious and tedious job. To obtain a Certified Nursing Assistant licenses the student must complete class, lab and clinical time in a course that can endure between six to twelve months.
“They sound great... Oh… Wait we can’t hire them”, my boss stated as she hands me a small pile of applications back. “Well, why not? They have the proper training and they’ve been a CNA for as long as I have. You know just as well as I do that we need all the help we can get. Especially, since I’m on the desk until my doctor releases me to work on the floor.” “I know we need the help but we already have one guy hired and we can’t hire another one. You would have to switch cares all the time because upstairs we have 5 women-only cares and at least 3 women-only cares down stairs. That would just be such a hassle if you girls are in the middle of cares with a resident and then we have to find cares you can switch with him…. It just wouldn’t be fair to you girls.”
I was very proud to be one of the fourteen people excepted into such a sought after program. After my six weeks of training I completed the program with a 98% average, and found a job one week later as a CNA at Meadowbrook Healthcare. Immediately after completing the program at CV-Tec, I started my first semester at Clinton Community College to continue my journey towards becoming a registered nurse. I began my college career slowly in order to adjust to my new role as a college student while maintaining full time employment as a CNA. Working in the nursing home had secured my decision to further my career in healthcare, and inspired me greatly.
Becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant was the biggest challenge I’ve ever taken on. My decision to become a nursing assistant started when I was in ninth grade. My class went on a field trip to the high school and we took a tour to the Health Occupational Students of America classroom. As I walked into the room, I knew right there that it was the class for me. My instructors, Mrs. Livings, and Mrs. Jorgensen were fantastic, and never failed me as a health care
