SAME SEX MARRIAGE AND THE CHURCH:
According to the church, marriage was established in Eden by God to be a lifelong union between a woman and a man in a caring companionship. To the church, same-sex marriage is a sin that has perverted the idea of God about marriage and family. Most priests and clergymen believe that same-sex marriage is a manifestation of brokenness and disorder in the human relation and inclination as a result of sin. While all human beings are subject to the fallen nature of humans, the church believes that through the grace of God people live in harmony with the world. To the church, same-sex marriage is disgusting and unnatural. Same-sex marriage is equally unnatural. While the satisfaction and pleasure may be the same as heterosexual sex, it is definitely the way the human body was designed to have sexual intercourse. For example, most people argue that the fact that same-sex lesbian couples use dildos and vibrators to pleasure themselves is proof enough that sex was meant for a man and a woman. The same way, anal sex in gay couple is a proof that sex was designed
For the past 3 decades the views surrounding marriage has undergone a great deal of change (Lennox, 2015, p. 1101). This shift is due to the continual discussion of gay marriage. The interplay of religion and politics has led for much controversy. Beyond the religious there are also psychological and physical health arguments, as well as civil rights arguments. Same sex marriage is examined through different paradigms, thus giving rise to religious, political/legal, and religious arguments surrounding the legalization of this institution for gay and lesbian couples.

In the United States, there is social unrest regarding the government's denial of the right to marry for homosexuals. Plenty of conservatives are completely against gay marriage; and many of liberals are fighting for equal treatment. The neo-Christian politicians are using religious arguments to establish that homosexuality is an abomination. While this may be their belief system, this country was founded on religious freedom, where the people are allowed to worship how they see fit. A ground rule, set up from the beginning, states that separation needs to be made between religion and government, so the two shall never meld to become a theocracy. With the issue of gay marriage, lines get blurred and religion
