Richard nixon did very wonderful things to change american. At least most of what he did was good. Richard did a lot of good, yet he also did a lot of bad. Richard nixon was a good president. At least that's what he wanted other people to think. Richard nixon was a liar. The reason why i say that is because he was involved with a scandal call the watergate scandal. There was proof found when he was forced to give up the security tapes and recording that he had. This proved that richard nixon had something to do with the watergate
Richard Nixon arguably could have been considered one of the best presidents to run the United States if it wasn 't for the Watergate scandal. Nixon was able to prevent another Cuban Missile Crisis and was able to do great in both domestic and foreign policies. And was able to welcome back the astronauts from the Apollo XI when they arrived back safely from the moon. Before all his glories accomplishments Nixon ran against John F. Kennedy in the 1960s election which was by far the

Francis Anthony Nixon, father of Nixon had an the lemon ranch on Yorba Linda, California and later opened a combination grocery store and gas station with Hannah Milhous Nixon. Hannah Milhous Nixon was a quaker, who was revealed to be very influential on Nixon's livelihood. Nixon was born on the ranch on January 9, 1913, and was the second of five brothers in total. Vice President he did many things. “While Vice President to Eisenhower, Nixon made the position important. He took National Security Meetings, when the President could not. He also went on good will trips to gain support for the American’s during the Cold War”(Nixon Library). This is an important achievement because the role of Vice President did not have much meaning before then, other than as a backup in the unlikely event something were to happen to the president. This also shows he was always very involved with his job and strived to be good at it. When Nixon won the 1968 election he did many things in his tenure as president. “During his presidency, Nixon succeeded in ending American fighting in Vietnam, improved relations between the US and USSR, and relations between the US and China.” This has meaning as it shows that Nixon was good at his job, and truly

Richard Nixon successfully used Pathos throughout his “Checkers Speech” to appeal to the emotions of the American people. Nixon, more commonly known for being one of the most hated presidents that the United States has endured, is exceptionally brilliant. He used technology to help him plead his innocence, as he televised his big “Checkers Speech” for the entire United States to hear.
In regards to corruption, when Warren Harding is compared to Richard Nixon, one can infer that Nixon’s scandal was worse, but he was a superior leader than Harding because he possessed executive level leadership ability. Although both were likeable, Nixon outshined Harding from a political and ethical standpoint; he was motivated for the job and possessed the credentials that made him qualified for the position. In contrast to Nixon, Harding was unmotivated and ill suited for the presidency, and the only substantial matter that he took care of was a post-war economic recession, which he delegated away to his offices. Nixon, however walked into a war, and despite that he achieved more than Harding. According to White House.gov, “His accomplishments while in office included revenue sharing, the end of
Richard Nixon. If you didn’t already know, there is a very large amount of controversy surrounding this former president. A large part of this controversy has something to do with him being elected president in both 1968 and 1972. These many years allowed many good, bad, and controversial topics surrounding Nixon. Before we can get to all this controversy in regards to this president, we shall explore what Nixon did before his presidency and what policies he had while he was still in office, because it has become blatantly obvious that too many people in the United States are
Gerald Rudolph Ford Jr. was the 38th President of the United States. Born in Omaha, Nebraska, Ford went from being a son of divorcees to the leader of a nation.
Former President Richard Nixon is most well-known for his role in the Watergate crisis in the early 1970’s. The Watergate crisis started in June of 1972, when the Democratic National Committee (DNC) headquarters was broke into by members of Nixon’s re-election committee. The press took this breaking news and began to dig deeper into what the Whitehouse (President Nixon) was hiding. Over the next two years heavy investigations into the Watergate incident revealed that President Nixon did, in fact, ordered a cover-up to keep the incident under control. Fearing impeachment, President Nixon resigned his presidency in August 1974,
James Earl Carter Jr- better known as our 39th president Jimmy Carter- was born on October 1st, 1924, in Plains, Georgia. He eventually chose a career path of politics although neither of his parents were politicians. His mother Lillian was a nurse, and his father, James Earl Carter Sr., was a businessman and farmer. He attended college in Georgia, and later enrolled in the United States Naval Academy where he completed a Bachelor of Science degree. Carter enlisted in the Navy and was posted on submarines in the Pacific and Atlantic. Eventually Carter studied nuclear physics at Union College to prepare for the Navy’s nuclear submarine program. Carter married Rosalynn Smith in 1946, and took over the family farm after his father’s
So, who exactly was the Richard Nixon? In a very broad sense, he was the 37th president of the United States. Before his tenure as the 37th president, according to Conrad Black, “Richard Nixon, under his father’s influence, was already interested in politics, and already a Republican,” by 1920 (11). Likewise, Nixon’s early interest in politics that would lead to his election as a California congressman, in 1946, and sequentially, a state Senator, in 1950. Like many other US presidents, Richard Nixon had a rich history in politics before winning the presidency. But unlike other presidents, Nixon already had controversy surrounding him before he ever reached the oval office. In 1952, Nixon was amidst rumors of questionable funding,
Richard M. Nixon was a former vice president who barely won the election in 1968 against Hubert Humphrey for the Republican party. Once in his presidency, President Nixon pleased and displeased citizens in the United States. He was not necessarily the most liked president, but he was not the most disliked either. By 1972, it was time for the
Richard Nixon, though created a large credibility gap within the US, he accomplished a lot for the country. He served five years in the presidential office as a republican (1969-1974), and he was the only president to resign from office in history. Although through his presidency he had accomplished many things, such as creating revenue sharing, ending the draft, and creating anticrime laws, he still had a rough time rebuilding his reputation after many assumptions of corruption in his office. Though he never admittedly pledged guilty to his crimes of taking government funds for his own personal gain, there was proof that he was. After the Watergate scandal, the American people set their mind to believe what the proof led to, so Nixon’s
He repudiated his anti-Communist past and became the first US president to visit the Soviet Union when he traveled to Moscow in May of 1972. He sought peace with the opposing super-power and initiated negotiations with the Soviet Union to limit nuclear weapons, which resulted in the Strategic Arms Limitation Treaty (SALT). At the same time, he was making secret contact with the other great communist nation, the People's Republic of China, which he visited publicly in February 1972, thus opening official diplomatic relations with China for the first time since the communist takeover in 1949. But no—Nixon is not remembered for his good deeds; the mistakes he made seem to overshadow his accomplishments. Nixon never committed perjury before a Grand Jury. Nixon never had oral sex in the Oval Office with an intern half his age. Nixon never tampered with witnesses who could testify to such an affair. Nixon never sent his wife on national television to blame all his problems on a vast left-wing conspiracy--although a much better case could've been made - the Left wing media loathed Nixon ever since he uncovered Alger Hiss in 1948. Nixon never sold nuclear missile technology to the Communist Chinese in exchange for illegal campaign contributions. They have a word for that; it is called "treason". Nixon never
