I have also operated as part of a team, for example AUQA audits, scholarship allocations, and large IT projects. At the moment, I am assisting with onboarding initiatives for the Government of Canada. A team I have lead was my executive board when I was president of my fraternity.Some ways in which I built ownership of our shared goals was through effective deligation, open communication, and having a plan. Delegation is not simply askiing tasks or projects but utalizing my brothers for their strengths and supporting them in whatever they need in order to accomplish their responsibilities. Communication is important to be able to get input from my Ebaord because their opinions of important decisions for the fraternity needs to be respected and counted equal. Although not all of their opinions will be able to be acted upon everytime but the feeling of at least being heard led to more trust, collabroation and enaggement from my eboard memebers as the year went on.
I have held Acting Manager and Assistant Manager roles for small teams of only four staff, to large teams of sixteen staff whilst working for the Department of Immigration and Citizenship. Vital signs are a fundamental component of nursing care and indicate the body’s ability to maintain blood flow, regulate temperature and regulate oxygenate the body tissue. Taking vital signs are essential in revealing any sudden changes in the body, which could potentially indicate clinical deterioration of the patient.
This essay is a reflective essay on my learning development from a young age through to my current position as a University Student. I will be relating my learning development back to two theories of human development, Vygotstsky’s socio-cultural theory and Marcia’s version of Erikson’s theory of identity development. This position carries a lot of responsibilities and requests to demonstrate leadership skills like critical thinking, conflict management, negotiation and motivation, personal development, time management, research and prepare reports and so on. A representative initially garnered my interested in applying to and attending Syracuse University. Earlier this year, my school system hosted a college fair, and Syracuse University was one of the participating schools. Before this, I had not heard much about the school’s academics; in the past, I mainly only heard about the university’s basketball program. I decided to approach the table occupied by the Syracuse University representative to learn more about the school. I was immediately persuaded into applying to Syracuse University by both the location, in the middle of the state of New York, and the possibility of majoring in Aerospace Engineering, which is something I have been interested in since middle school. Upon successful completion of this project I will identify an existing problem of a team that I am a part of and I will act as team leader and develop a coaching plan to solve this problem.
