Red School
You walk shaking into a classroom. You feel wronged, but confronting Ms. Susan is something very few people have done, and all students have had detention. You're scared as she opens the doors. Your mind is racing, trying to think of what to say. In “bad” schools children may not feel accepted or worthy of going to that school. This is not a good thing. Children who don’t like school can have trouble later in life because they didn’t care. Because of this they get poor grades which led to more and more worse grades which led to low paying jobs. According to http://spf.dpsk12.org/ the lowest rating a school can recieve is a red rating. The more sophisticated term for a red school is Accredited On Probation. If your school is rated red then it means that your school needs a lot more help than other schools. Different ways DPS helps a school rated red is by hiring new staff, maybe a budget review and there often is teacher and student counseling added to the school, or counseling improved upon if it is already in the school. The highest rating a school can be given is Blue, or Distinguished. A Distinguished school is doing really well. It is getting great test scores, it has great attendance rate and it also has a supportive community. There are many different levels of school ratings it goes from Red to Orange to Yellow to Green to Blue. But those are just two examples of what those ratings …show more content…

There are the students that care and the students that don’t care. In a school when you have students that don’t care about their own and other’s education that schools rating can go down because when say half of the students don’t care then that can affect the mood of the school which can change how people think of the school. Also, students who don’t care, when they grow up if you don’t have good grades then you can’t get into good colleges and not being able to get into a good college affects what jobs you have access to. Finally, when you affect a school’s reputation it can take a long time to I guess build back lost trust, and make the school better. Another perspective on the matter of what makes a good school are the teachers. In the same way there are “good” and “bad” students there are “good” and “bad” teachers. A “bad teacher is a teacher that either does not care about their job or maybe they like to teach but they don’t teach
