Red School
You walk shaking into a classroom. You feel wronged, but confronting Ms. Susan is something very few people have done, and all students have had detention. You're scared as she opens the doors. Your mind is racing, trying to think of what to say. In “bad” schools children may not feel accepted or worthy of going to that school. This is not a good thing. Children who don’t like school can have trouble later in life because they didn’t care. Because of this they get poor grades which led to more and more worse grades which led to low paying jobs. In order to combat this problem you must first know about the school rating system, what it takes to become a good or a bad school and a few of the many

According to http://spf.dpsk12.org/ the lowest rating a school can recieve is a red rating. The more sophisticated term for a red school is Accredited On Probation. If your school is rated red then it means that your school needs a lot more help than other schools. Different ways DPS helps a school rated red is by hiring new staff, maybe a budget review and there often is teacher and student counseling added to the school, or counseling improved upon if it is already in the school. The highest rating a school can be given is Blue, or Distinguished. A Distinguished school is doing really well. It is getting great test scores, it has great attendance rate and it also has a supportive community. There are many different levels of school ratings it goes from Red to Orange to Yellow to Green to Blue. But those are just two examples of what those ratings …show more content…
There are the students that care and the students that don’t care. In a school when you have students that don’t care about their own and other’s education that schools rating can go down because when say half of the students don’t care then that can affect the mood of the school which can change how people think of the school. Also, students who don’t care, when they grow up if you don’t have good grades then you can’t get into good colleges and not being able to get into a good college affects what jobs you have access to. Finally, when you affect a school’s reputation it can take a long time to I guess build back lost trust, and make the school better. Another perspective on the matter of what makes a good school are the teachers. In the same way there are “good” and “bad” students there are “good” and “bad” teachers. A “bad teacher is a teacher that either does not care about their job or maybe they like to teach but they don’t teach
In the early months of 2002, Juneau-Douglas High School in Juneau Alaska, held a school-sponsored and faculty supervised event, held off of school property, to observe the Olympic Torch pass through their area. When television cameras began to turn in the direction of a group of students, they unfurled a banner with the phrase “BONG HiTS [sic] 4 JESUS”. The school principle, Deborah Morse, told the students to remove the banner and one of them named Joseph Frederick refused, compelling Morse to confiscated the banner claiming it promoted illegal drug use and suspended Frederick [1]. The school district superintendent supported Morse and permitted the suspension, stating the banner was in violation of school policy by endorsing the use of
he book Red Queen takes places in the kingdom of Norta, in the future. Norta consists of Prince State, King State, and Regent State. The kingdom of Norta has people with red blood, and silver blood. The people with silver blood have powers and they are looked upon as regal and special. Most silvers find themselves better reds, and reds don’t like this. In each on state there is a main city or main cities. The main city for the Prince State is Delphie. Delphie is modern day Philadelphia and a lot of Silvers live there. The main city for King State is Summerton, right underneath Summerton is the Stilts. Summerton is where a lot of Silvers live, and the Royal family stays there for the summer. Summerton is very regal, clean, and nothing reds
Do you think that the neiborbors will be glad that red chief is back? I think that they will be madder than two elephants that don’t have any water to drink. The reason why I say this is because he does a lot of very bad things. Likewise he is always throwing rocks at his neighbors cats and his neighbor really hates that. Also he is as loud as a train horn. Then one day red chief was out side digging a hole to china in the middle of his neighbor’s yard. Then when the lady looked out her widow and sawl red chief digging she came out side scheming as loud as a bobcat.
I came into Norwalk Community College looking for a fresh start. I previously attended a 4 year university that became too much for me; attending school full-time, working 30 hours per week while trying to enjoy the college experience. At the cost of an “experience” I ended up failing most of my classes, putting my health at risk drowned by the tremendous amount of stress and just wanted to completely give up. Looking for a fresh start I decided to leave my University, and attend Norwalk Community College. Though this decision created self-doubt in the beginning, it soon came to my realization that it was the best decision I ever made. Immersed in an environment full of positive people, I was able to put my pieces back together.
Madera High school in its past years have dealt with many cases of bullying and harassment among the students on the campus. A hand full of students from Madera High stated that people being harassed and picked on was something that was seen often on social media and up in personal. This became a major problem when social media such as Myspace were first made. This was the beginning of online harassment and bullying. Cyber bullying isn’t something that other people should just look past and ignore because people take their lives from it. People don’t notice what’s going on in the life of a victim that is bullied. Nowadays mostly all of Madera high school students have social media and physical bullying is more rare to see because most of the
1889, that’s when the long history of Columbia City High School starts. Columbia City High School is a very old school with very rich history, but it's time to turn over a new stone. Since this dilapidated school has reached a point when it's become of ill repair and there’s nothing more to do. The numerous problems that plague CCHS are constant. The final straw was pulled, the city has decided to build a new high school within the next three years. This is a large project that current high school students won’t be able to participate in but should still try the help as much as possible.

So it’s Monday again worst day of the week, and the first day of school thats when everything is horrible for me. When you walk through those doors to Dogwood high school ( which is literally hell on planet Earth ) all of your positive feelings or vibes just disappear. I hate that school so much not because of the work, or the homework, or the teachers, its the students that make me dislike school so much. People can be so mean and nobody even really knows me besides my best friend Blair Rhodes, pretty much my only friend to be exact.
Most of my childhood memories took place in the home that I remember best, the red house on Hawthorne Street, in Portland, Oregon. The house was three stories of endless adventure, with a great big backyard for any little girl's imagination to run wild. In fact, I spent so much time outside that I barely remember the house at all. Also, for some reason, my fondest memories took place during the summer while I lived there. I remember riding my tricycle on the sidewalk with the two twin boys across the street, and sharing my dolls with the little girl who lived in the yellow bungalow three houses down from mine. But, the memory that sticks out most is our forth of July block party.
“Tatum isd, where every student is special.” Our school, Tatum high, just received a large cash gift for having the highest test scores around. I believe we should use the money to update the most important, crucial, productive, and beneficial things to all students. They really need to modernize the restrooms and the transportation, those, to me and many others, are two of the biggest problems at our school.
The nature of the book is an explanation as how to help teachers evaluate and use his methods to create a quality school. Glasser’s book takes place in the American school system during the 1980s and highlights the problems of schools that are failing their students. Throughout the book he gives examples of what is being done wrong in the American school system, and what educators can do to fix it. While hitting major points to cover his purpose he uses scenarios to show administrators and teachers how to take their school and create the quality school.
Fair and equal treatment no special programs everyone has to work together learn and grown as a unit. Whereas in other school the really smart student get places in special honors class which is degrading for some students. Student can tend to lose hope when they don’t feel like they are worth it. Today you see many parent choosing homeschool as an option because they don’t feel that their children will be treated fairly in public school. I feel like public school could learn a lot from defense school and they should implement some of their strategies. Defense School are needed and should continue to be around forever. Think about this most military children move a lot because of their parents duty schedule yet annual mobility rates is 35 percent and 97 percent of the graduation from high school and most of them continue their education
This crisis mentality is in stark contrast to years of survey research showing that Americans generally give high marks to their local schools. Going back to 1984, Phi Delta Kappa International and Gallup surveys have found that the populace holds their neighborhood schools in high regard. That’s been true every single year — and in fact, this year’s survey found that
Schools make a lot of great choices regarding their students’ education, but their one major flaw
Through out the movie you see difficulties that the students are trying to finally fit to be part of the system but they still may not be accepted because of their classes. With low achieving school, have a suspicious amount of high test scores the reliability and dependability are questioned. Conflict theory is used that the struggle in society and schools between the haves and have nots. For example, not funding for computer, not having computers, no air conditioning for summer and less opportunities for students in general. The school is portrayed as a place where students do not want to be or care about being in school. The staff don’t care about the students especially they gave up on them. There is a quote that I got from the movie, that Mr. Escalante was asking the math department for calculus
