Trump plans on making a wall along with its neighbor Mexico is not an ethical thing to do. As looking into the history from different corners of the world we can say border is not a solution rather it comes with lots lot of disadvantages and is not an ideal thing to do. It affects both country and the people of both parties. For example let’s talk about the “Berlin Wall” which is similar to the wall that Trump plans to make.
Berlin wall was a barrier constructed in 1961 to separate East Berlin from West Berlin and East Germany. Mikhail Gorbahev, the soviet leader of Germany was frustrated because people in West Berlin were migrating to either East Germany or another country. West Berliners left because they were disgusted with the economic
After World War II, Germany and Berlin were controlled by four major powers, US, Britain, France and Russia. Many people fled from the east side, which Russia controlled, because they did not like being under the rule of the Soviet Union and communism. Over 2 million people fled over the course of the years 1949-1959. Russia did not like how people were leaving their side of Berlin, so they built a wall. This wall started out as a barbed wire fence that later was made into a 15 feet high and 4 feet wide wall made of concrete blocks.
When the Soviets started to notice that their best citizens (like doctors, scientists, and other citizens that play an important part of society) were moving to West Berlin, they decided to put an end to it. They did so by constructing an 11 foot tall wall between East and West Berlin on August 13th, 1961.
Usually walls are put into places to avoid people to cross borders and keep peace but they destroy peace. Recently one could have heard in the News that Trump wants the Mexicans to pay for a wall between Mexico and the United States. This Wall should make it impossible for people to cross the border unofficially. As one could know from history classes, we had a wall in Germany for many years which was built by the winner countries of the second world war for a similar reason. Before the Wall, many people from East Germany tried to escape to West Germany where they had obviously better living conditions. It divided Germany in East and West Germany. Additionally, there was a part of Berlin, what was in the East German part, isolated from a huge wall that belonged to West Germany. This wall made it hard for the citizens of East Germany to visit West Germany. The Government of East Germany had other principles than the government of West Germany and it was not in the interest of the East German government to show their citizens how good their life could be in West Germany. After the falling of the Wall, it was possible for everyone to travel in Germany whenever they want without standing in line at the borders. But there was a big gap in wealth between East and West Germany. Even today the loans in West Germany are lower and the federal states have less money than the ones in West Germany. But in Berlin, one can visit ruins of the Berlin Wall which are colored and painted. As one could know from visiting Berlin, there is only a small part of the Wall left but at other parts, one could find the position of the wall with marked flagging on the ground. Additionally, one could buy a piece of the wall as a souvenir. Standing in front of the ruins of the Berlin wall inspires this realization: Peace is about breaking barriers not building them.
The Berlin Wall seemed to symbolise what the Cold War meant to so many, a clash between good and evil. The Berlin Wall was built to attract the attention of US president at the time, John F Kennedy, who was to visit the wall. In 1949, Germany was split up into two operate groups. The German Federal Republic, known as West Germany, and the German Democratic Republic, better known as East Germany. Many of the population of East Germany, fled to the other side of the country being West Germany.
The Cold War was the name given to the relationship between the U.S.S.R. and U.S.A. after the end of World War II. Germany was the representation of the war, and therefore, it became the most disputed country. The Berlin Wall was built in 1961 during the Cold War. During late 1950s and early 1960s, the socialist government decided to build a fence across the city border and restrict access to the Western area. Over time, this fence became a brick wall, completely cutting off access to the west, leaving family and friends separated for almost 30 years. The Berlin Wall marked the different ideologies between the different systems of governments, how they functioned, and the meaning to the people.
The Berlin Wall was a tangible symbol of the suppression of human rights by the Eastern bloc during the Cold War and was anti-fascist protection. It blocked West Berlin and East Berlin. The wall blocked to stop young educated people from the East,so that they can be in the more prosperous side.
Berlin Wall - On August 13, 1961, the Communist government of the German Democratic Republic (GDR, or East Germany) began to build a barbed wire and concrete “Antifaschistischer Schutzwall,” or “anti fascist bulwark,” between East and West Berlin.
For me personally I don’t think the wall should be build. The wall is a waste of money, and time the solution of building a wall across the border is not very smart. The wall will cost millions of dollars to build, and on top of that it would take a couple of years to finish it. Instead of wasting money trying to build a wall that would take a long time to show effectiveness, we could use less money to try a different method it’s that would take less time. The purpose of this article is to inform us, about the wall and how going to help stop immigrants from crossing the border, the way I see it is that building the wall is just something trump is trying to do make it seem like he is finding solutions to the problem we face today.
Why was this wall even put up? Well, this was built to keep antifascist from entering East Germany. Germany was divided by this wall and sadly taken over by Soviet control. This means it was under communist leadership. During this Reagan challenged Gorbachev to tear down the wall. He gave the answer to how and why Gorbachev should tear down the wall in his famous speech.
The Berlin Wall had a major impact on humanity’s views on how society should be ruled. Berlin is the capital of Germany. After the ending of WWII, Berlin was split up into East Berlin, and West Berlin. East Berlin was communist, suffered from the repressions of the Communist Party. West Berlin had a better lifestyle, and had financial aid from the United States. From the years between nineteen forty-nine to nineteen sixty-one, approximately 2.5 million people from East Berlin escaped to West Berlin. This toll included skilled workers, professionals, and intellectuals. Because of the loss of these people, the economy in East Berlin was threatened. On August twelve-thirteen, nineteen sixty-one, the Berlin was built in order to stop the people of East Berlin from fleeing. The Berlin wall was a major point during the Cold War, and many opposed it. It gave another reason to detest communism.
The Berlin Wall was a symbol of division between two different political beliefs and two different ways of life. The population during this time was about 3.4 million. This started the Cold War and ended it. Just because of one mans (Nikita Khrushchev) approval to raise the wall; the citizens of Germany were forced to live twenty- eighty years without freedom. Berlin Wall also known as the “Iron Curtain” was ninety six miles long and twelve feet high. The Berlin Wall erected in the dead of night. Just past midnight, while Berliner’s were sleeping, crews of soldiers tore up the streets dug holes to set up concrete posts and fixed up barbed wire on top. Telephone wires were cut off between the wall. The Berlin Wall had very few openings. For example, the main access opening was called “Checkpoint Charlie”. It was used for allies personal and westerners to cross the border. It was decided during World War II when Germany lost, that Berlin was to be divided between America, France, and Great Britain. The Soviet Union started the war and wanted to spread communism around Eastern Europe and West Germany did not want that. This turning point was a physical symbol of the Cold War.
Building a wall has brought everyone's attention and is a matter that has many arguments, but in this case the southern border should reevaluate. The United States can’t fix all the problems that the wall is proposed to destruct. Building the wall may cause more unwanted problems, then there already is today. The conflicts of the United States, can interfere with the southern side causing disagreements. The United States building a wall on the southern border will not only increase the debt of the country, it will bring more division to our nation and will not eliminate criminals, terrorist attacks and illegal drugs.
The Berlin Wall is a historical symbol of the Cold War and the fall of the Berlin Wall is a symbol of the end of the Cold War. And also, the Berlin Wall played a great role in the life of millions of people and defined the fate of German people, which put them apart by the Wall for a long period of time. Sixteen years after the end of World War II, the communist government of East Germany began building a wall on (August 13, 1961), that would divide the city of Berlin into East Berlin and West Berlin. The purpose was to keep fascists from entering East Germany, but mostly to keep West German citizens, primarily people of valuable professions such as doctors, teachers and engineers, from Changing side to the West. People of Berlin Called the wall Schandmaur, which actually means " The wall of shame". Over the years of the wall being constructed it took at least 3x times to rebuild it, but each time bigger than the last one.
husband, Roger Chillingworth, is a businessman, therefore, she has a financial situation, but she doesn’t care about anything from that perspective. Although she has just about any material possession that she could ever want, she misses her husband very much. She misses having someone, in her love life, to fill the empty void. Some feminist theoreticians have spoken out concerning this problem, of having financial stability, but not having a very good love life. Most women, who live in situations like this, are not at all happy with it. One would have to have a heart made of stone to live a happy life and not take these details of their daily life into consideration. Hester, however, admits her sin, and she accepts the punishment without protest. She faces life with a ton of courage, and she does not care about anyone or anything who tried to
The Berlin Wall, built in August of 1961, was s physical symbol of the political and emotional divisions of Germany.
