To Mr. Lapeire, head of the NRA,
Imagine heartbreak, loved ones dying, and losing hope. This has transpired for many in America today, all because of gun violence. It has become a great problem for our society in recent years. Data from Every Town Research has shown In their article Gun Violence by the Numbers “...that on an average day, 93 Americans are killed with guns...For every one person killed, two are injured” Many will deny that gun violence is a dilemma, but it is. Most do not realize this but, over 62% of the deaths that occur are suicides, and just over 1,642 people killed by gun violence were accidental. There is something very wrong here, and something needs to change quickly. If so many of these deaths are incidental, and

Overall the suicide rate is extremely high. It is not the most sought after death, but it is the most efficient. I have known many people over my short 16 years of life who have wanted to kill themselves. I’ve been in the position to end my life many times, had best friends die, and watched them die. It is a horrible tragedy; suicide is a sorrowful disaster that needs to be addressed.
When I look back to why many of my friends died, I recollect how they said they could not handle life anymore. These wonderful, astounding, and kind people went out expecting to find more exceptional people yet, they were sadly disappointed. They went out and found a cruel world. An unfair world, one where dreams don’t always come true; Why? Simply because that is life. Sometimes no matter how hard you work you may never reach where you desire to be. There is always going to be someone bigger and/or better than you; that is the devastating reality of life. I believe the way we instruct children, that everything is fine and dandy in life; that if you try hard enough, you can be whatever you want to be is simply giving them false hope, and maybe that needs to change.
As for contingent shootings, where children have been harmed. I believe we should instruct
You walk through the door, after a long day and you see your six year old son holding a gun that you thought you stored , and your toddler is on the floor with blood gushing out of his body. Your son now scarred, and precious daughter now dying, it’s too late too late to think ‘What could I have done to prevent this’. 48 children and teens are killed either accidentally, in a suicide, or in a homicide every day in America (one person every 30 minutes.) Unintentional gun deaths and suicide are among the top ten of the leading causes of teenage deaths in America (CDC, 2015). Any incident of gun violence involving an underage shooter, is an accident.
I am so sorry for your lost of your friends and teachers . I wish I could take the pain away from your hearts because I know how bad your hurting because right now.
t's the same old same old from Republicans whenever there is a massive murder caused or initiated by a white man or men using a high power assault weapon.
The United States of America is a nation of massacres by military-type assault weapons. Aware of the deadliness of these weapons and due to public safety concerns clearly outweighing the benefits of personal ownership of military-type assault weapons, the United States passed the 1994 Federal Ban on military-type assault weapons. This ban was notably effective during the 10 years it was in effect. However, the Ban automatically expired in 2004. Since that time, the number of U. S. mass murders has markedly increased. Attempts to reinstate the Ban, most recently the stricter 2013 Ban, have all failed. Nevertheless, the less restrictive 1994 Ban did pass the Senate and House of Representatives at one point and was successful. Therefore, the 1994 Federal Ban on military-type assault weapons should be reinstated.
Have you ever thought of ways to stop violence? Some of the many things that cause violence are mass shootings. Another thing that cause violence are murders. Gun control is very important to violence because some people are not allowed to have guns but people still sell them to them. Violence happens all over the world and it can be changed by just not doing bad things or just don’t try anything that you know you cab get in trouble for. Violence needs to stop so the world can be a better place.
Charlie Webb English 1302 Melisa Lindsey Revenge, we all think we should get it back on some one. It can be on the road to the work place regardless you want other to feel how you made them feel. When revenge is brought into schools at the utmost level it can lead to horrifying situations. Some students believe that they need to get revenge by killing other classmates. They use guns and knives to use to inflict harm on their classmates.
At the present time, there is some Law introduced that are promoting Citizens in respect of gun control. The government is mainly afraid of the direction in which the most of the country is headed on various levels. In an ideal manner, we have a democratically controlled congress and a very Liberal President, that concern has grown even more. In a literal manner, with the tragic but senseless random shootings that have taken place over the past few years. Actually, Government heart goes out to the families of the innocent as well as unsuspecting people who were murdered. Moreover, for the families of the police officers who were die down in the time of duty. On that note, this loss of life is known as a senseless loss. On the other hand, the people responsible for these murders had serious mental issues or problems.
Specific Purpose Statement: To persuade my audience that each individual must take responsibility for his or her own actions. The must not blame guns for problems caused by people. .
The Orlando nightclub shooting in Florida on June 12, 2016 was the single largest massacre in U.S history, taking the lives of 50 individuals, including the shooter himself, and injuring 53 others. This is one extreme example of the gun violence that has been occurring in this country, but mass shootings like this and the one at Newton in 2012 are only a small part of our gun violence issue. The everyday gun violence that takes place in cities all across the United States claims the lives of thousands every single year. According to The Guardian, 33,500 civilians die each year because of gun brutality- “that’s about 1 life every 15 minutes” (Beckett). Between the years of 1999 and 2013, there were 464,003 gun deaths in the U.S, about 58% of them were suicides 37% were homicides. (ProCon.org) Gun violence and the consequences of that violence, have become a real and dangerous problem in the U.S , why else would the CDC list the United States as having the highest rate of gun violence out of all developed countries today? (Gale Opposing Viewpoints) This issue is not just attributable to a single factor, there are several that play an important part in why gun violence is such an issue in the U.S, namely laws and poverty; and in these causes we can also find solutions.
I've heard the deafening sound of a gunshot, almost as traumatizing as seeing someone getting shot, because you know that there are only two options when you hear a single gunshot. One, that it was an accident, or two, that it has hit its intended target, successfully.
In 2015, there was a total number of 53,101 incidents involving guns, and of that number, over two thousand teens were injured or killed. There is also an assumption to some black people that black lives don’t matter because they see that african americans are steady getting killed. I think the truth is that all of our lives matter and that neither of us should ever feel that our lives don’t.
In order to have a peaceful community, and for everyone in society to feel safe again, we need more restriction on guns such as who handles guns, when they are handling a gun, and what they are needing the gun for. Violence is a part of history, that has always been talked about. We don’t need violence anymore, and not having restrictions on guns, is just making the violence worse. We need to know the problems that guns have caused in the past, and today, and the real reason why people who are against gun control.
You are with your sister, a friend, and a man with a gun pointing it at you. It’s hot and you sweating. You don’t even know if the water under your pants is sweat or pee. Thinking this might your last day on earth. You can see it in the men face, he was desperate for money and scare. He hands were trembling and he was sweating too. You know he doesn’t want to point a gun at a group of kids, but you also know that he has a family and he needs to feed them some type of way. Little kids usually don’t carry money, but he knew about the background of my family and he knew we were different. You didn’t know what to do, he was asking for money, and you didn’t want to give it, but with a gun at your face, there isn’t an option. He sees your gold chain and tells you to give it too. You see your first phone fade away from your hands. The same thing happens to your sister and friend. You feel like shit because you didn’t do anything to stop him. You feel responsible for everything that happened even tho you only 11 years old. Bullshit, Why is an 11 years old, 14 years old, and 15 years old have to through this moments. You only 11 and you are already thinking about death. It’s not right, it should never happen, but then you remember you live in Honduras, one of the most dangerous countries in the world where everything is possible.
Guns! Are they good or bad? Can they be illegal or legal? Why do we have guns? Should we ban guns? Guns are everywhere. We see police officers with them and also other law enforcement agencies. We have heard of them being in the news. We have mass shooting every year and we see it being more like a routine. Guns have been around for years and it all started from war fights. We use guns to fight war, prevent crime, and the second amendment, the right to bear arms. We range all different types of guns from semi automatic to shotguns, pistols, rifles, snipers, and so on. We have new guns being developed each year and exported around the world. Guns are so powerful that it can take you life away. We have seen the news lately about all these mass shooting. Anti-guns is the way we can stop this violence and to stop the killing of so many innocent people. If we stop legalizing guns, we can stop violence to be a continuous rampage.
I. The second amendment reads as follows, A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. This means that American citizens have the right to have and use guns and other weapons respectively.
