A problem with teachers having a firearm at their side is that kids will no longer be able to hug their teachers. When children are in elementary school many of the children like to hug their teachers. “Kids in elementary age like to hug their teachers, but students cannot put their hands on you they can knuckle bump, they can shake hands, but hugs are no longer appropriate.” Quotes from the training supervisor for conceal and carry permits. A school's staff are our children's first and foremost defense against violent attacks. Posting "Gun Free Zone" signs has proven time and time again, that it will not stop a criminal from leaving a trail of victims. Leaving our staff untrained and unarmed ultimatley leaves all those in the school vulnerable, defenseless, and in the position to potentially be harmed, or worse, killed. Arming our teachers, prinicipals, and staff will give our children and all else in the school a chance to fight for their lives, if ever threatned.
Teachers should not be armed if they are not trained properly. Police officers, swat teams, and security guards go through years of training to face a dangerous situation. So why should teachers automatically have the right to carry a gun? Their job is to teach, not guard a school. According to Russ Moore, who is a school principal, “You would be taking people who were
Teachers should carry guns because they can disarm a shooter. According to the previous history, If an intruder comes into a class, any instructor present, can shoot the intruder before the intruder kills anyone. The big question in a lot of schools today do to several shootings and terrible incidents is whether or not a teacher should be able to be armed with a gun in case a situation of self-defense. It is a concern from regular citizens to teachers and all the way up to the government itself. Realistically, there would be a lot of problems trying to implement guns in the first place but seems reasonable in some ways as well. Teachers having or not having firearms will probably be decided soon enough, but is looking like they won’t have any in the near future. There are several reasons why a teacher should be armed in a school building.
The teachers wouldn’t have to be forced. In order for this to be effective, the teachers would have to be determined and feel comfortable with carrying a concealed weapon. Andy Hoffman, a current state trooper for Wyoming Highway Patrol (WHP), states that the average speed for someone who knows how to load a gun actually gets two times slower when they are under pressure or in a crisis situation. This proves that the teachers would have to be prepared and ready in this situation. Hoffman also strongly believes that teachers should have to go through a certain program to get proper and realistic training before they can carry in a school, so they know what it would actually be like in the event where someone is trying to harm others. With training, determination, and preparedness, teachers being allowed to carry in schools could be very successful in saving the lives of
Teachers should have the choice of whether or not to have guns. Some teachers don’t want to bare the burden of having to kill someone. The day has been totally ordinary until you and your classmates hear a loud gunshot coming from outside the window. Students are screaming and running frantically around the room. Teachers are rushing around doing all the procedures they learned from past drills. Except this is not a drill. This is real. You and your classmates huddle in the corner. Outside the school you hear more gunshots. Would this situation be different if teachers had guns? The answer is no. Teachers and staff at schools shouldn’t be armed with guns.

With this permit and being able to carry and loaded weapon, it does not only allow the person to protect themselves but also the others surrounding them. A student should be able to come to school without the fear of being harmed and not being protected by the school’s
For over a decade, There has been an alarming rate of gun violence in schools from middle schools to college and many people have debated on how to stop this.
