Psychology Project The tests related with personality intrigue people because human personality is a very curious topic for people. Everyone wants to know about their personality and the internet has become the easiest method to access any personality test that claims to solve your queries about your own. People take interest into these tests and end up being fooled by some vague claims made by a machine that has all remarks and conclusions fitted in it. I was no exception to it when I decided to take a personality test and get included in the list of those people who got duped by such tests.
There are many personality tests available on the web that claim to help in deciphering your personality accurately and precisely. This test that I

However, the questions were very straight and addressed directly. There was no calculation in the test that would make a person think. Even a layman can take the test because it just contains some questions and one has to click the right checkbox according to his preferences. After investing my 15 minutes on this test I found that this test was not credible at all. It was just a method of luring people to know about their personality and getting hits on their website. The test was utterly meaningless. The questions seemed to be simple yet direct in the beginning but later on they became repetitive and boring. There was nothing that could make me ponder over some aspect of my own persona. The test claimed to prove the personality type by adding big names like Briggs Mayer Test but there was nothing mature about it. The test results were totally unclear and all it said was that I was on the borderline to every aspect. There was nothing this test told for sure. It just kept saying that I was in the middle of every trait without any explanation. The vagueness of the test was strengthened by the results it showed. It was a great
The need for another personality test seems small. Personality tests have been in use in American since 1943 when the Meyers Briggs was first published (OPP, 2015). The field is now very diverse. With the Meyers Briggs and Smalley’s Animal Types on one end to What Star Wars Character Are You? On the other, these tests run the gambit from serious to funny, and then on down to time wasters. To really prove your usefulness, a new test must fill a niche in the market. Something only your test can provide. However the 34 vaguely worded themes give no great bit of detail to really
The test itself was not what I had expected. When the test began it was simply a series of personal questions and questions about men and women within or out of the workforce. Initially, I believed the test would be a series of similar questions. When I was taken to the next screen for
I personally think that this test got some of my personality traits but not all of it was spot on. It said that I am an
Personality tests are beyond easy to find these days. All it takes is a few clicks from your keyboard and google will present you with thousands, if not millions of personality quizzes. However, some tests happen to be more legitimate than others. Recently, I took one such test at the Career Center at Eastern Florida State College. My results were sometimes correct, but seemed to be slightly off at other times. I did really enjoy taking a test built in this format though.
Personality is defined as the unique way in which each individual thinks, acts, and feels throughout life (Ciccarelli, 2014). Numerous individuals are curious in regards to their actions and how their mind works, thus leading companies to create personality tests, in order to provide individuals with some perspective on their personality. While individuals can take personality tests for leisure, personality tests are often utilized in situations such as job interviews, diagnosing mental disorders, and educational purposes. Two popular personality tests are the Keirsey Temperament Sorter and the Big Five Personality test. After taking both tests, I analyzed them using my knowledge of general psychology and of my own actions. I found the
Some of them I felt were truly accurate, and some of the others showed me characteristics of myself I’ve never realized that I am, like a very defiant individual because on two out of the three we took it seemed I couldn’t really be put into a certain category. The Myers-Briggs test was the only one exception because it had you definitely put into one, single group. My result was that I had the Advocate personality, in the Diplomatic arena. It said I was, “a very rare category, making up less than one percent of the population, but that they nonetheless leave their mark on the world. As members of the Diplomat Role group, Advocates have an inborn sense of idealism and morality, but what sets them apart is that they are not idle dreamers, but people capable of taking concrete steps to realize their goals and make a lasting, positive impact. And though soft-spoken, they have very strong opinions and will fight tirelessly for an idea they believe in.” Which I believe is pretty spot on for me, though I would have never been able to come up with that description of
In conclusion, this personality test has brought more to my attention of how I am as a person and gave me to ability to see in which ways I can grow into a better person. It was hard to notice these aspects about myself until it was all written out and then it made sense and was true. I hope to look back on this in the future when searching for jobs or work places to help get an idea of what suit me the best. Lastly I am taking this class to not only learn more about myself, but to also grow into a better person with information that I will learn while in this
It is hard to say someone is specifically just one type, there is so much more to a person then the few characteristics listed. With that said I do think this test can make people realize their strengths and weaknesses. I enjoyed getting the results of my test and seeing how accurate it was. The only thing that bothered me about this is that I feel like some people could take this too seriously and think that the test describes every aspect of their life perfectly which it does
Personality tests offer an opportunity to learn more about psychology and about oneself. I have just completed the Jung type sorter, the Big five inventory, the mating intelligence scale, and the flirting style test. I had taken both the Jungian Type Sorter and the Big Five Inventory previously, but now have a better understanding what my scores mean. The Mating intelligence and Flirting Styles tests were both novel to me, I enjoyed these two tests the most, but have doubts about the accuracy of my responses to questions.
The personality assessment was a very strategic test that made one self understand new ideas of how one should perceive his or her own personality towards their ideal career path. My personality tested as ISTP which stands for Introverted, sensing, thinking, and perceiving. This personality description gave me a clear insight to the possible care choices that may be best suited for me. As being a person with high intrapersonal intelligence I am aware of my own strengths and weaknesses that am able to understand my own personality better.
This personality test did show accurate information which informed me what my weaknesses and strengths are without me even knowing what they were before. This helped me understand my traits better and maybe I’ll able to prevent them next time they come
Personality test can offer a great deal of insight to someone. After taking the Myers Brigs test, I have confirmed much of what I have thought about myself. My score is ISTJ. This stands for introversion, sensing, thinking, and judging, which very accurately describes me.
Overall, taking the test was an interesting process - especially when I was truly curious about what kind of person I was just as all normal people did, and simultaneously I was analyzing “what trait this question is pointing to.” This dual thinking is that kind of joy only students in psychology would be so willing to have. I tried hard to pay full attention to internalize these statements and examine how true they were for me, and some questions did make me reconsider what kind of person I had become since last time I completed such a survey in freshman year. I was having a tough time when I took the survey, and the statements on neuroticism just kept me rehearse my negative feelings and doubts about my self concept appeared in those days. People always say I am an active, productive, and positive person, but the test tells a totally different story. It makes me curious about whether this actually reflected my states and blue moods in short term, or revealed the
Overall, I believe that the test was fairly accurate in measuring certain factors of my personality so much so that it was difficult for me to find certain factors that I did not agree with. However there were two factors, E (dominance) and Q1 (rebelliousness), which I believe were a bit overrated in myself. Aside from these the test seemed to adequately define facets of my personality. For “warmth” (factor A) my sten score read 4, indicating that I am slightly more reserved and critical that easygoing and good-natured. I scored a 7 in “ego strength” (factor C), classifying me as more stable and emotionally mature and less emotional and changeable in attitudes. In dominance (factor E) my sten score read 8, meaning I am more assertive, competitive and stubborn rather than submissive, dependent and humble. I received an average score of 5 in “impulsivity” (factor F) indicating a slightly more serious and sober approach to the world over the cheerful and enthusiastic view. As for “boldness” (factor H), I received a sten score of 4 signifying a more shy and restrained approach to things as opposed to an adventurous genial one. I received a median score of 5 for “emotional sensitivity” (factor I) demonstrating my slightly more tough-minded and self-reliant view in contrast to a sensitive insecure one. For “imagination” (factor M) a score of 8, indicating that I am more imaginative, unconventional and absorbed in ideas and am less so for practicality and the prosaic.
Have I ever took a personality test that answer will be no I have not taking one but will like to take one to learn more about what type characteristic shape my personality. I would expect the personality test to show my caring ability, motivation levels and strength ability. Also I would like to test tell me about my social skills as a child I did not have good social skills now as a adult I have better social skills do to self confidence that I lack as a child. My personality has grown since I was a child. A personality test will open many doors to my colorful mind.
