Nothing beat the overwhelming emotion of stepping up on the pitcher’s mound and hearing the chant of my name, my heart clawing its way out of my chest. Before throwing the first warmup pitch, my mind raced through the entire season. How, as a team, we have made history winning all three major tournaments in the high school level. We had beaten many top competitors and lost plenty crushing defeats as well. My mind pondered, which situation will I be in today, glorious victory or destructive loss. This is the feeling I lived for during high school, it was my sole purpose. However, this was merely one minute of that fateful day in which I played prodigiously trying to win a baseball game. My emotions were slowly building up throughout the day. Adrenaline was running through my body from excitement as I walked towards the locker room, which we called the clubhouse. I arrived at the front door to be greeted by music and some teammates changing into their uniforms. I slowly walked to my locker when it suddenly hit me… we’re in the semi-regional finals. The thought staggered me as I stood there staring at my lightly stained uniform. All the noise muffled out of my mind as I’m trying to focus. I snap back to reality as I hear my coach calling my name. He simply hands me the folded American flag as if it’s almost routine. Putting up the America flag has been my unofficial job for home games. Once the flag is up I make my way back to the clubhouse, pick up my gear and stroll down to
I’m sure you’ve been told persistence is key, and believe that you can do something, not that you can’t. Well I’m not going to show it to you, or tell you, I’m going to prove it to you. The summer after 4th grade year, our baseball team had the greatest summer ever. At the beginning of the season since their was so many kids at our age group that wanted to play, the adults in charge had to split it up into 3 teams. All 3 teams had fair or average seasons. My team had the best of the 3, but it wasn’t quite good enough. We had had, just enough success, not as much as we would have liked. We found ourselves barely sneaking into the tournament as the worst out of 8 seeded teams. We had to play against the undefeated Watertown team in the first round. We were told we had no chance to win, and we believed that too. The most I’ve ever been wrong in my life was saying, “we have no chance to beat them.”
So what made baseball be the event that made me who I am today. Well I’m about to tell you. First it was the very first baseball game I played, then it was the first game I won, after that it was the first tournament I won, last it was the first World Series I won.
That when you do something in the past that you weren’t good at, then you try it again. When, you try it again you would know what to do but better. So, when I took a break from baseball and didn’t play for months and I came back better than I ever was. So, taking a break was a good thing for me cause i cleared my head and had a different mindset. And, they made me be better at what I do, and maybe even better than people that I couldn’t beat in the past. I once, saw a docomatary about a player (Derek Jeter) that took a break from playing sports and was a good thing for the Yankees. They won the World Series when he came back to play for them. Then i started to think to myself that if they took a break and
To be the greatest you have to start from the bottom and work your way up, work and train hard and wait for you opportunity and take it. Ever since I could remember I wanted to be the greatest baseball player there ever was and to do that I had to master the fundamentals of the game before I could truly become the best. This scholarship to me mean a little bit more than just money to me because where I learned my fundamentals from was Howard. My graduating class might be the last few players that actually remember Howard and I could be the last one to actually play a game with coach Bell. Since then I’ve always tried to focus on the little things in whatever I’m doing because I know that’s was coach Bell always tried to do. Because of what
My sweetest baseball victory came not when I was eight, beating several of my friends on the opposing Little League team, not when I was 15, against our cross-town rivals pushing my school team into the JV playoffs, but the first win of the team that I helped coach. It was just the second game of our season, and only an hour and a half long, but it was a representation of the backbreaking work put in by everyone involved. After my ninth grade year playing JV ball, I decided that I needed to focus on my schoolwork, as it was tough to maintain my grades while juggling sports and other extracurriculars. However, I continued to play club baseball, as my passion for the game never faltered. The trend continued in my junior year, as I needed to drop
“Jack wake up tryouts for the gators are in 3 hours and you need to get ready.”My mom yells as I jump out of bed and get dressed.
A career in major league baseball helped set the stage for his womanizing. Being a professional athlete there is a certain level of fitness to maintain he prescribed to order. The energy he played with on the field help drives his motivation for business.
my name is curelesscrab360, and what are you passionate about? I'm passionate for baseball and video game but mostly baseball. Also I wish to be a professional baseball player when I grow up and be third basemen or pitcher. Because it is a lot of fun but it is going to be a lot of work. I hope I hit homers and strike out batters or catch the baseball in my glove and throw the baseball to first. But I just want to play baseball. That is all for today and I will see you later good bye!
I am the star baseball player. I know many people because of this, I have my own group and they were crazy out of their minds. Carlos is my best friend. We sit together in class. He also knew Emilio, trinity, and Taylor. One day after my baseball game, Carlos came up to me and asked me if I knew about Kab. Carlos explained to me that Kab was a ghost town abandoned 78 years. I didn't like the idea. Carlos, said" Come on it's Halloween tomorrow. I mean come on you don't really want to trick or treat. You're 18 Paul, 18"! I reply" ok I guess we can go". Then Emilio, Taylor, and trinity come over. They ask what are you guys talking about. Carlos says "Kab". Emilio asks" what's that?". I said" some stupid ghost town, knowing that Emilio is
`This is all i’ve ever wanted, be starting pitcher in our championship game. Anxiety drops into my head and I get all scared. What if I lose this game for us? What if all this work I put in doesn't show? I try to clear my mind as I was warming up, SMACK 59 mph right down the inside middle
Tweet, tweet. The other teams players, tapped the ball, beginning the game. An interception, on the First Lutheran School girls soccer teams behalf. Dribble dribble, pass, dribble, shoot, smiss, repeat. Back and forth, like an unchoreographed dance.
Focused and determined during batting practice; we hardly spoke. I looked around to see intense eyes complimented by the black smudges we had painted underneath. I wondered if anyone else was feeling the way I was. I was ecstatic and pumped up but I was also melancholy. I suddenly realized as I was standing with my teammates that this was our last tournament together. I was a senior, the oldest on the team. At that moment I decided to lay it all out, not for myself but for my coaches and my teammates. It was my last day of Aces softball so I knew I had to make it
I went to Siga prefecture and stayed three days there in this summer. So I had baseball tournament. The first day, my team had first game and won.
When I was in the fifth grade a friend and I had made that decision that I should become a part of his town baseball team. When I got home from school that day I asked my mom if I could join and her answer was no. The next day at school I talked to my friend and he told me that his practice was that night and that I should come and try it out. He told me that he usually rides his bike because his dad is not home and that we could meet up and go together. So when I got home my mom was home and around the time I needed to leave to meet my friend she usually went to the nearby school to walk around the track for exercise. She had asked me if I wanted to go with her I declined and she left. I started my journey to the baseball field that was probably
The tournament was double elimination and we had won all of our games except one, and we were now preparing for the championship game. This game was extremely important to us because we typically did not make it this far into a tournament, and I had faith that we could pull through with one last win. As we arrived at the field I could feel the adrenaline pumping through my veins. When we walked into the dugout we saw our rough looking opponents. We were all overwhelmed with nervousness, but we kept encouraging each other as we warmed up.
