I believe what sets me apart from other candidates is my mind set. I am a very open-minded person. I am open to change and am able to see others point of view. A lot has happen to me in my life where I understand other people's actions. I have seen enough to understand that most people act out on emotions and not reason.
Ever since I was young I knew what was reasonable and what was not. I did not respond to getting spanked when I was young. My mother would sit me down and ask explain to me what I did wrong and then proceed to ask me what would I do if I was the parent. Most children would say nothing or some response to get them out of trouble; I would not. I would realize that I had made a mistake and tell her I deserved this or that kind
I am going to be honest. Generally speaking, I have never been a very political person. When I was younger I didn’t care much about politics and up until a year or two ago the most I knew about politics was a basic idea of the ideas of each party, their symbols, that our president is a democrat, and that there’s a presidential election every four years. But, in the past year that has changed a lot. I turned eighteen, and eighteen is the year, the year we become adults, and the year us new adults gain the right to vote. Gaining this authority gives you a feeling that you don’t quite get when you get your license, or your first job at sixteen. So imagine my initial disappointment when the first election I get to vote in involves Donald Trump. But, as I have experienced the campaign in the past year, that disappointment dissolved and I knew I wanted to share what I picked up on.
My presidential run for office would be based off being truthful. I would tell the United States how the government has been taking money from them and spending it irresponsibly. I want to fix the United States because they fail to use money effectually. There needs to be someone that steps in and fixes the problem. When the people of the U.S. votes me into office that will be my task.
Starting high school can be a little scary, especially when you have no guidance from siblings, like me, being the first one from my family to have an education. But that did not stop me from succeeding, I?ve always been confident and determined. I?m an enthusiastic when it comes to trying new things. Who would have thought I was going to be a good athlete plus a book geek, when in my past years I was just a regular kid. I was pretty excited about joining a club that had a connection with high school, that way I didn?t have to start from zero, I always want to be a step ahead. Fortunately, in summer, a high school coach was recruiting freshmen for running either cross country or track, they both involve running, so I considered it like the same sport with different timing. And this is when it all started. Running
My Current Contest PrepHere you will find weekly updates as I prepare for my first step onto a bodybuilding stage.
Everyone has heard of the backseat drive, or the armchair quarterback, and at some point in our lives, we have all acted as the unelected politician. I have decided that since I now have a decent sized soapbox, I might as well hop on and get to talking. Who better to fix the worlds problems than a movie theater manager right?
My current strengths according to the LifeStyle Management Health Risk Inventory, is that I am punctual in seeing a primary care provider, whom I have seen in the past two years, it was suggested that it is of vital importance to do so, as a PCP can provide helpful information about my health and how I can improve any health problems I may have. Another strength of mine is that I get the flu shot on a regular basis, it is important to do so, as the flu virus does not spread to those who I am around and protects me from the virus. According to the LifeStyle Management Health Risk Inventory, my BMI is 21.03, which puts me in the healthy weight bracket, maintaining my weight in a healthy range will lower my risk for heart disease, cancer and other
The question you’re asking me is “What is your vision for America?” Well, I have one big vision for America, but the real question is who can turn that vision into a reality? The answer to that is the American people who truly envision the idea becoming a reality. The most important vision to me would be for America to have peace all across the country. Sure, it’s a far fetched idea, but isn’t that what visions are supposed to be?
A dream is a fond hope or a good wish one yearns to come true. In my life I have several dreams; one that stands out is the dream I have for my country, America. Some of these dreams are stronger economy, people will have access to a good education, diverse ethnic groups will be one, and we will help developing countries.
I am interested in the political process and daily happening that make and effect change, I persevere through challenges both personal and academic, and most importantly I am willing to do the hard work necessary to make the group successful. This aspect is the most important is because a congress has to work as a group to accomplish the goal, and most people are not willing to work for the group goal in a congress setting which is basically what is happening now.
The person I interview was my very passionate and intuitive friend. A very loyal yet pessimistic person I asked him why he is the way he is. What did he experience in childhood that made his perspective on life change? “I grew up in Eagle Rock. There was, and I'm pretty sure there is still is a lot of shootings, gang members, and a lot of Mexican culture. Growing up I was taught to work. I've been working since I was 9 and around the age of 16 I was using my social security. Being the child of immigrant parents I wasn't privileged.I was taught to work for the things in life." Like myself, many first-generation children grow up under confusion and stress. Our parents left their life behind to start a better and new life full of opportunities
I have three things I want you to know about me. The first thing I want you to know about me is that I’m shy. The second thing is that I don’t like sitting in the front row, I like to sit in the middle or back. The third thing is that I don’t like being called on a lot.
I started off this election unaware, unconcerned, and uninformed. Truthfully, I loved my political ignorance. I didn't know anything about party platforms, I didn't know (or care) who the candidates were, and I wasn't worried about the fate of our country- if America has been around this long, it really didn't matter who would be our next president. Things are different now- I am different now.
Racing thoughts encircling in tangled ways always led me back to one question, “What difference would it make?” Throughout 3 years, I was never able to figure it out until my whole life shifted. However, I always believed in the simple fact that everything happens for a reason. Meaning that every decision I’d make was destined for me to get something out of it, either learning from my mistakes, bettering myself, or recognizing my bad habits.
That is, until I was nine and fainted at the sight of my own blood when I cut my finger.
This year was the very first time I had the opportunity to vote. What an election to choose because of all the division and also importance of the electing the next president. With the electing of supreme court justice members, to the fate of the all the policies Obama has implemented, this was no easy decision for me. I voted with an absentee ballot this year due to the fact that I didn’t live in Provo, and I was as anxious in waiting for this letter to come as I was during my mission waiting for letters. The day it came, I mulled over my choices, and there honestly some people I didn’t know about that I wish knew more about. Some of them I had to trust my parents’ advice with because the candidates that were running in a district I didn’t
