Starting with the personal plan in stage one, meeting with an academic counselor to create and follow a plan for degree completion I think is key for being on track to successfully finishing at Normandale. I think a lot of people tend to be on the more confused side with all of the classes they have to take and actually figuring out which ones they truly need can be a struggle. Two days ago I met with a counselor to figure out which classes I needed to take to be on schedule for completing at the end of this academic year with an associate’s degree and being ready to transfer, with engineering having similar standards at many schools I was unsure of which school to go to. The adviser really gave me an idea of the correct direction to go and
Going into college, I would like to peruse many of my goals. I would like to start out getting my general studies in and then build up to become a Registered Nurse. After I accomplish becoming a Registered Nurse I would like to work on becoming a Nurse Practitioner. One reason I am striving to complete these goals is to be able to have a good future and hopefully a good job will come out of this. Neither of my parents went to college and I want to be able to accomplish that for myself.
My College and Career goals include graduating college and getting a job. I wish to attend the University of Alabama. I plan to major in occupational therapy or speech therapy. After I graduate with my bachelor's degree I wish to get my master's degree. After I finish my schooling I want to receive a job that allows me to provide for my family. I wish to receive this job in my degree's field. After receiving this job I wish to improve to reach a leadership role.
What is your Grant Plan for your life? This question has been something that countless people have been asking me since I first began to have dreams and goals for myself. And as I matured from a child into the young man I am today my dreams, which ranged from astronaut to Iron Man to President of the United States, have also matured with me and helped mold all of my ideas into the Grand Plan for my life that I am now pursuing. Growing up I realized that the best way to change the world and improve your own life, and those of others, was through higher education. I worked hard during high school and was able to get into the university of my dreams by staying motivated and focused. I am now an african-american college student majoring in electrical
I went through a lot in life as a child. Growing up was not easy as a kid ( especially
Certainly by now, you know my name. However, I prefer to go by Mia. I have been a student at SBVC since fall of 2013. I know... it seems like a long time. The reason for that is I am a double major. In Spring of 2018 I will be graduating with my Associate's degrees in Business Administration and Accounting. I work extremely hard on my educational career goals. For example, I have maintained a 4.0 GPA and am an honor student. I currently work on-call for a local school district and enjoy every minute of it. I am also a creative writer, which I haven't had much time to do lately, but plan to get back to it as time allows. In fact, one of my newest ventures is marketing in the digital economy, so my creative writing will definitely get
Having been sponsored to leave China and study in the states, I had seemingly abandoned my piano career; my family simply did not have the funds to purchase another piano for me or pay for lessons. This changed when I received 50% off piano tuition from Cape Cod Conservatory and a grant from Olive Cahoon Classical Piano Scholarship Awards in order to pursue my future piano study in the US. Remarkably, I had also been donated a piano from John Gage, allowing me to pursue my passion. I simply could not comprehend the generosity of these strangers whom I had never met. Instead of furthering my own need, I now take time to volunteer for local charities and places in need, such as playing piano in senior homes, volunteering in hospitals and elementary
After completing the college search, I am feeling stressed and way too overwhelmed because feel that i don't enough activities to do like joining a sport team or things that are wanted from a student. I am also feeling like I know more about what some university want and require; without this college search I would only get a little bit information about what college want from other people or whatever would pop up on ads. I am not that satisfied with current academic record because I am not in any sports, clubs, etc. so I need to step up and be more involved in school activities. My strength points are volunteering and getting good grade and that's it; my weak point are very where in my opinion, I need to be involved take risks and become
Throughout my college search I visited numerous different types of universities, from small private religious schools to schools in one of the biggest cities in the United States. After all of my visits I began to narrow down my top schools by what I value. It was clear what was extremely important to me, rigor.
What college comes to mind when you think of your home for the next four years? As senior year begins, the thought of college starts to pop in everyone’s head. We usually have a long list of possibilities to choose from that fits us perfectly. One has to make the right decision for college because that’s where their next chapter begins. My list of potential colleges consists of University of Tennessee, Virginia Tech, or Coastal Carolina.
On a gloomy, emotionally drained, rainy November evening I was stuck in the back of Shari's restaurant scrubbing dirty dishes. Twelve at night and school the next morning, piles of homework stacked higher than the dishes, I can even remember counting down the seconds until I could get out of that place. I then came to the realization that scrubbing dishes until the late night hours not only sacrificed my social life but also affected my education, things needed to change. It was time for a new job, I knew that with the skills and knowledge I acquired at my past jobs, my opportunities were endless for the future jobs waiting for me. The opportunity was eagerly knocking at the front door like my baby nephew does when he wants to come play in
My college and or career goals are a priority to my future. I have a plan that may not be easy but I am ready for the challenge. In June 2017 I will be graduating high school. The next step I will be taking is to apply for college. My goal is to be a Registered (Pediatric) nurse. I will be the first in my family to attend college. Based off of my personal life experiences helping others brings me joy. Receiving the help of a scholarship for pre-calculus would be the start of a successful future. My life growing up wasn’t the best but I have a strong motivation to succeed. I want to create the life I wasn’t given growing up. School is a priority to me. I want to show the people around me I can do anything I set my mind to no matter what
On to old news, i’m tired of high school. I’m tired of the work, people, lunch, community, building, staff, and myself. Throughout all my years of education my teachers hyped me up that after your senior year you were done, well they lied. I’m supposed to continue my education another 15-20 years according to a career? Are you really telling me I have to do more work after they specify you’re done after senior year? If you’re a teacher reading this you’re probably telling me “uh, yea what did you expect?” You want to know what I expected, none of this. You’re probably thinking I should suck it up, grow up and move on, but I’m tired of the negativity I get when I say I don’t want to further my education. I appreciate the people looking out for me
Mom always told me that if I don’t keep the score up I will have to find a job someday. The score is just what my mom and I call my grades. She means that if I don’t keep up my grades she would stop giving me monthly allowance and you know kids these days, that's what keeps us going. I always listened to her until I started playing basketball. Everyday after school I went to basketball training for two whole hours and I know what you’re going to say, why don’t you do your homework after basketball? Well, you see my team always has these team parties. On other days I have to go to my older sister’s lacrosse games. She is a pro at it or should I say she was a pro at it. Lately, she has been missing all the goals. Now she is always yelling at me and bossing me around. She is always saying “Stephanie bring me this...and Stephanie bring me that…” If you are wondering who is Stephanie? Stephanie is me. Stephanie Helen Cooper, yup that’s me.
I was born and raised in Texas. I attended private school till my freshman year of high school. Then I went to an early college high school. I started taking college courses my sophomore year at iSchool High - Montgomery in the Woodlands (yes that’s the full name). By my senior year, I’ve completed 32 credits, was part of the Honors College Program, and Sigma Kappa Delta, an English Honors Society at the Lone Star College - Montgomery Campus. I’m thankful for taking dual credit classes early on in high school. All I have been wanting to do is travel and with the great opportunity, I am able to. This will be my second time traveling abroad; my first time was during the summer. I went to Istanbul, Turkey with my family. But this will be the first
“I want to be a firefighter, construction worker, and professional race car driver when I grow up.” This was my proud childhood statement I would use when asked the question, “what do you want to be when you grow up?” This question in particular is one that will be asked awfully early in one’s childhood, as well as very late in a young adults final years before venturing out into the “real world”. Like many other young children, I grew up with the mindset of having a exciting, heroic, and lively job for when I got older. I dreamt of operating heavy construction machinery, saving families while extinguishing fires of a decaying building, and speeding past vibrant and heavily decalled race cars. However, as I grew older and gained more realistic
