Certainly by now, you know my name. However, I prefer to go by Mia. I have been a student at SBVC since fall of 2013. I know... it seems like a long time. The reason for that is I am a double major. In Spring of 2018 I will be graduating with my Associate's degrees in Business Administration and Accounting. I work extremely hard on my educational career goals. For example, I have maintained a 4.0 GPA and am an honor student. I currently work on-call for a local school district and enjoy every minute of it. I am also a creative writer, which I haven't had much time to do lately, but plan to get back to it as time allows. In fact, one of my newest ventures is marketing in the digital economy, so my creative writing will definitely get
When I started Chaffey College I did not had a college major in mind. My educational plan was set up to take general education for the first two semesters. It took me a month to realize I wanted to be a Dental Assistant. There was a waiting list for the program, but, fortunately I could obtain all the documents need it to be qualified. Now, my education plan is set up to graduate from Chaffey College by 2018. I will end up with an Associate Degree as a Register Dental Assistant. My education plan was set up to graduate in less than 3 years with the best experience and knowledge I could get. Being in college had made me increase my education goal, not only will I get a career in the Dental field but I will continue to become a mathematics teacher
My College and Career goals include graduating college and getting a job. I wish to attend the University of Alabama. I plan to major in occupational therapy or speech therapy. I am currently double majoring in Broadcast Journalism and Public Relations & Advertising. I have an open availability for the weekend starting friday since DePaul does not hold classes on fridays. I was also wondering what this is regarding. Looking forward to hearing back from you soon.
Before I became interested in Spelman college, I knew the type of education that I wanted to receive. I wanted an education that would cater to my many endeavors. I wanted to learn wholly, passionately and creatively. During NSO, when Dr. Burnett spoke, I realized receiving a liberal arts education is more than learning it is an act of resilience, and an act of courage.
Growing up my father taught me many life lessons; one that I will never forget was when he told me: “A man living in a house without light will never know where he is going or what he wants to do.” At the time I did not understand what that meant until one day he explained in to me. Without proper goals a person is just lost in darkness and unable to find their way in life. By working towards my goals, I feel that I am constantly growing as an individual and learning how to approach all sorts of situations that life throws at me. Recently, being a part of the EOF Nursing School Program at Rutgers University, I feel that I have just set the foundation to achieving my goals which include graduating with my Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing alongside one day opening a home for the less fortunate in Guyana.
In the fall of 2017 I will be attending The University of Houston in Victoria, double majoring in psychology and education being a full-time student planning to become a teacher for the deaf making a difference in the disabled world. Not only the disabled world but those outside of the disabled community.
I believe everyone has established goals during their life. They might not write them down or even have a plan of how they will be successful, but the ultimately outcome is based on the individual and their persistent to accomplish it. One goal that I have dedicated and work so long for seems to be coming to a close, but it is a step forward in achieving my ultimate goals. Through planning and being focus anything is possible. Goals that I have established after my post-graduation consist of areas in my personal, academic and professional life. My personal goal is to continue to make every day count and see it as an opportunity for growth. For my academic goal is to obtain my Licensed in Clinical Social Work. The professional goal is not to be passive, but instead begin
Although most people would continue post-secondary after high school, I plan on going to college, most likely Langara college, first after graduating. At first, I did want to go straight to UBC or SFU after high school, however, I started thinking of what I wanted to do. Then it occurred to me of how this is going to affect my entire life. From what I heard from others, people sometimes change their decisions based on what they want to do as a career. Not only does this take a lot of time on studying something else after changing their primary focus, but also costs a lot of money. Unfortunately, I know that I won’t have enough money to pay off the financial expenses just to study for the career I want for my future. I need to make sure that
At the beginning of my junior year of high school, I made the decision to pursue a different educational path. I left my high school and began the Great Lakes Bay Early College program, allowing me to gain collegiate experience and earn college credits while completing my high school requirements. Being introduced to a college environment at the age of fifteen was both challenging and inspiring. It provided a new set of social and educational circumstances and potential difficulties. Thankfully, I was able to adapt quickly and those challenges
Wow. I was actually spot on with my majors salary even though I thought maybe I was low balling it a little, but still what I want to do with my major is completely dependent on how successful my business idea is so it could far more or far less than the salaries listed. Also it didn't specify wether this was the entry and mid level for 1 job in the enrtrepreneurial field or an average of all the jobs in the field.
I am writing to apply for the Sanford Inspire coordinator position in the College of Education. I completed my PhD in curriculum and instruction at the University of Wyoming last spring and feel that this position is an excellent opportunity at this point in my career. When I began my career in higher education, my aim was to help prepare educators to be more of the needs of their students, while employing research based practices in their classrooms. Therefore, I am applying for the position due to its focus on teacher preparation and the excellent reputation of the Mary Lou Fulton College of Education at Arizona State University, where Sanford Inspire was developed. My experience working in Wyoming schools in a variety of capacities makes me an excellent candidate for the position. Furthermore, my knowledge of UW and the relationships I developed during my doctoral study will benefit my work in the coordinator position. I am also eager to begin the next phase of my career and learn more about
Deciding my major has been one of the most challenging and time-consuming problems that I have come across in my life. The solution came about through several trial and error semesters of courses I thought might be interesting. Choosing what you want to do for the rest of your life is an enormous, stressful, and time-consuming task, but it is proving to be one of the most rewarding tasks I have taken on. Many obstacles have come my way, but I have always known that I wanted to help people and make a difference, I believe that lead me to where I am now. Growing up I always enjoyed my Grandma’s stories of nursing, so I decided I was going to become a nurse. The summer going into high school, I volunteered at the local hospital to get real world experience and that was my first rude awakening. Nursing was not for me, having a queasy stomach and nursing do not mix well. After taking many random elective classes and several major changes later, I gained knowledge in subjects I might not have taken, and
On a gloomy, emotionally drained, rainy November evening I was stuck in the back of Shari's restaurant scrubbing dirty dishes. Twelve at night and school the next morning, piles of homework stacked higher than the dishes, I can even remember counting down the seconds until I could get out of that place. I then came to the realization that scrubbing dishes until the late night hours not only sacrificed my social life but also affected my education, things needed to change. It was time for a new job, I knew that with the skills and knowledge I acquired at my past jobs, my opportunities were endless for the future jobs waiting for me. The opportunity was eagerly knocking at the front door like my baby nephew does when he wants to come play in
For the entirety of my school years I have always been awful at math. I really started to struggle with it during high school I barely passed most of my math classes but I never really got the jist of what was being taught. Which is why I knew immediately I did not want to major in engineering. The biggest problem with this major is all the math involved, because math is not my strong suit I wouldn’t be able to work to my best ability so my job would not feel very successful. I think I need a career that I can strive in and know that I am good at it so that the result will be just as good. I also would like a career that doesn’t require as much math as an engineer has to. This is why I do not want to major in engineering.
