The biggest failure I experienced was back during my Sophomore year. The hardest class in the high school was AP World History in which the requirements were hours of homework a night. Many people tried to convince me not to take the course due to the fact that it is considered the hardest class in the high school. My mom tried her hardest to try and persuade me to take a different class but I felt that it was a requirement for me to take it to prove to the colleges that I was up for the task and that I was prepared to do the work necessary to succeed in college. The course required reading a whole chapter in the text book in three days and take a quiz to prove that we read and understood the topics. This fall is my first semester at “Cougar Nation”. I previously attended Saint Xavier University in Chicago, where I held several leadership roles. At the beginning of my sophomore year (August 2014) I resurrected an inactive organization on campus called the African American Studies Diaspora Club. The organization’s mission is to encourage and celebrate the gift of knowledge, power, and unity existing throughout SXU’s diaspora of African American students. Under my leadership, the AASDC became the premier Black organization on SXU’s campus as well as an excellent service to the Chicago community. Have you ever felt the exhilarating feeling of being watched? Like how every move you made felt as if it were being noted and permanently glued to your spectator's mind, the feeling where everyone just wanted to see you fail or make a fool of yourself. In November 2015 my brother and I participated in a fashion show, it took place on on the twelfth and thirteenth at 7:30 each night, Bridgerland Applied Technology College was our host. To be ready for the show we learned the walk, the smile, and anything we needed to know to succeed.

Throughout my school years, I have always tried to be a positive role model for younger students as well as my peers. This year I decided that the best way to serve my school was to participate in our school’s Student Leadership Council. It has proven to be a fantastic decision for me. I succeeded in getting the most votes out of all of the candidates and have had a great experience taking a leadership role in my school. I feel like I have become a much better leader and role model because of Student Leadership Council. I have been really fortunate to be exposed to the Jeter’s Leaders program, since they come to our school to mentor us as SLC members. It has been an incredible experience, and I would really love to continue with it. As an eighth grader at Saint Augustine, we are required to mentor our younger students. I

When I first heard about Berry College, I thought it was just another school in Georgia. My friend told me about it and I thought maybe I should look into it. I put it aside for some time until I saw a picture of this beautiful building. I was taken away by the architecture so I looked up the building and realized it was part of Berry College. I feel like in that moment, I felt in love with the surroundings of the school. I looked more into it and saw that it had everything I was looking for. The environment, the classes, and the activities, it was just perfect. So I have to say that I'm attracted to the feel of the campus and the never ending size. I know what I see it's only on the outside, but I can't wait to see what it has to offer inside.

I’m proud to be a Summit Charter Collegiate Academy, SCCA, bear. When I first enrolled at SCCA as a freshman, the school was nothing but a small, dull institution that focused on academics and nothing else. There were no sports teams, clubs, or school activities. The public viewed the school as a failure and assumed that it was no place for students to grow and experience what high school is like, but SCCA is nothing like the things people say it is. It may be different from the rest of the high schools in Porterville, California, but SCCA is very unique and is genuinely determined to prepare students for the real world. I aspired to do all that I could to make SCCA a better high school, so I joined my school's leadership team, also known as ASB, during my freshman year. Since the moment I joined ASB, I fell in love with the purpose of the organization. I loved to help out the school, and I loved planning events and activities that helped create a better high school experience for all of the students.

During my two last years of high school, i've been in contact with a lot of colleges and universities. Many of which don’t get my attention. Throughout my whole high school years, there was only one college that i wanted to go to, Liberty University. I have heard so many wonderful things about Liberty and what i loved the most was that it was a christian school. Liberty had the number one thing that i am looking for in a college, that is a christian school, but many of my other things that i look for in a college where just not there. I used to live in Florida approximately 11 years ago and let me tell you, it's hard not to miss the sunshine state. Liberty is in Virginia, a state where it doesn't feel like home. East Carolina University is and has always been a dream school for many students including myself. I have grown up hearing about the University and it is nothing short of spectacular. Many family members of mine have attended East Carolina, and I have always pictured myself at this school. It would be an honor to be a pirate. Throughout high school I have struggled in Science and Math. I know I could have done better in high school but in life you can always do something better, im eager to push myself more and work harder than ever to succeed as an adult, if given the chance There are many times when I should I have put school in front of my extra curricular activities such as dancing, art, work, tennis, and swimming. Though I haven’t had the most involvement in extracurricular activities, I have been trying to turn that around. I joined FCCLA at the start of freshman year. FCCLA was an excellent experience to improve my leadership skills, as well as getting engaged with the school and community. This ranged from helping out with school activities, to collecting and organizing books to be donated to children, and crafting dog beds to donate to the Cedar Valley Humane Society. I ended up not resigning up for FCCLA the following year due to my dealing with a difficult death in my family. However, since then I have gotten stronger and want to expand my community involvement. For that reason, I joined Student Council after the end of my junior year. As a representative, I help in school activities and decision-making. Though I’m a newer member, I’m excited to be a part of the Student Council. I have also recently joined the Science National Honor Society. I was able to join this club because of my accomplishments in science. I doubled up biology and chemistry my sophomore year, challenged myself by taking AP Chemistry my junior year, and am currently enrolled in the Pharmacology Technician program at Kirkwood as a senior. I am eager to see guest speakers and have already signed up for a couple of community service activities in this

I understand what kinds of students are needed in this organization. In order to meet the request, I tried my best to stand up in the areas of scholarship, leadership, character and service. For academy, I am a passionate student who likes facing challenges. I maintain a G.P.A of 4.0 for two years, and became the top 2 students in my Biology, Algebra II, ESL, Honor Pre-calculus classes. I am also a math purple team member and attended the state math competition.

I have been attending Anthem Prep for five consecutive years and I am applying the role of Freshman Class Representative. To make it more interesting for our students to get involved, Anthem Prep has been making changes to its student life and topics relating to it. Though our school has made significant progress, I believe the upcoming student government will improve our student body and their lives on campus.

After clicking on the power point, I found myself obsessed with completing the APA game. Students came in during lunch and were amused to hear my boisterous cheers and frustrations while playing the game. Andrew, an ELD student, came in to speak to me about Journalism and interjected the type of computer programming that was used to design the game. He immediately looked at the game setup and gave me his input; he felt it was necessary give me a strategy on how to win based on the configuration of the program. I told him I want to learn APA and was willing to get items wrong because I need to learn APA formatting. I surprised myself and got more correct than I thought. I asked Andrew to help me set up a game like this for ELD and our learning

I participate in Student Leadership Team at C-Tec. I volunteered at multiple community events such as our annual open house and our schools’ evening of exploration. One of our most important duties is to host student run tours and other events to peak new students’ interest in attending C-Tec. Without our service younger students would never get to experience the unique qualities of C-Tec. I currently have obtained 25 volunteer
