If an employer were to google my name several things would pop up one is a criminal background check and driving record. Another thing that would show on my google records is my credit score if the correct basic information was entered. Technolgy has made it easy for employers to find out who they are dealing with all they need is consent and a credit card. I have googled my own name several times the only social media results related to me is facebook and luckily for me I am a good person and my facebook page doesn't suggest anything otherwise.. one action I can take to improve my social media presence during a job search is to get more involved with social media by participating in social media events. Another action I can take to improve
Googling myself was quite interesting, to say the least. When I googled my name and hometown, Brittany Mann Shelton CT, the first two links that appear are my facebook and twitter profile. The links that follow that are all of the times I received honor roll in intermediate school and high school. However, there were also links that were not about me but were other peoples that have the same name as me. One of them was a LinkedIn profile that was not mine and the other was about a girl who is an ex-Oregon putter. This link talked about how great she was in the NCAA Indoor Championships. Next, I googled my Instagram username and I was shocked. The first two links that pop up are links to my Instagram account one of which isn’t even the Instagram link.
Numerous individuals believe that social media is positive toward the working industry. This is because you can utilize social media towards the best interest of your career. For example, according to Patrick Gillooly, “Don’t quit Social Media, Put It to Work for You Instead”, it quotes “Most employers and costumers I’ve talked to are ultimately looking for confirmation of their excitement about you, no reasons for suspicions or doubts.” Not having any profile could be seen as a red flag, so why give a potential employer any reason to question your candidacy?” In other words, having a form of Social Media can aid your opportunities to obtain a job. This is because employers and bosses can get a glimpse of who you are through social media and analyze whether you are a possible good option for the job. Nevertheless, if you don’t have social media, they are going to be left in skepticism. Thus, because they don’t have an idea of who you are, they are not going to take risks in electing someone who they don’t really know about.
This year, my sister did Dance Marathon with her collage as a way to raise money for children with cancer. Throughout the year she would send various things, such as coloring pages and holiday cards, to her kids as a way to cheer them up. Towards the end of the year she then decided to make pillow cases for the kids and had extra dye left. We also decided to make one for a personal friend that was dealing with health issues and was in the hospital quite a lot. It was during this time that I was able to help her make some for her kids as well as make some that would match my bedroom.
It could be said that my assigned site is the neighborhoods all around the state of New Hampshire. But my main base and where my supervisor or contact person is based out of is in Manchester Usually, before we as a group hit the streets of Manchester and the surrounding towns including Hooksett, Goffstown and Bedford we meet up at the headquarters which is located right on Elm street. There were two options offered to me by my campaign supervisor Elliot Gault. The first was to be an office intern in the offices located on Elm Street stamping envelops, making phone calls and filling papers away in a cabinet. The other option, which caught my eye, was to go out and knock on doors all around the state. This experience seemed more interesting to me because my role has a bigger impact on the voting results this November.
I’ve always asked myself,” what does it really take to make it big? To play amongst the greats, how could I do that? Me, Skylar Ross, a young man with this desire, the passion, wanting to play side by side with legends, to become someone people talk about, is what has pushed me all these years. It drove me to become a better player, to become more informed about the sport. This also influenced me to become more intertwined with school, that way I could have a better chance at getting a scholarship at a college.
With employers having access to a wide range of networking sites, it is more efficient for them to look up additional information about the candidate while saving cost and time. One research showed that a candidate was able to secure a job because their social media profile showed them as creative, well-rounded, and a good fit for the company (Budden, Elkersh, Vicknair, & Yancey, 2010). Companies use this data in order to inspect whether a candidate maybe outgoing. For example, someone who does not have any social networking profile is thought to be likely hiding something or is introverted or is not well-versed with technology (which is a requirement for most professional jobs). Companies can weed out candidates using this information and possibly find applicants that are likely to fit in with their corporate culture.
Born in the year 2000, I am almost 27 years and in this short time I have been deprived of many things; my life is not what it used to be. NO, much has changed, I know that I should be like my friends who have fun and party every day. Yet, that is not the case. I am different, I am able to understand things others cannot.
I am an individual with very little patience who tends to be unnecessarily explosive when encountering frustrating situations. Tracking my behavior gave me the opportunity to note how easily it is for me to become upset, angry, or even become aggressive. When I am upset, I tend to make decision I regret once I have calmed down. For example, yelling at a friend and saying things I do not mean during an argument. While looking at my log, I also able to notice that I usually get upset during the morning when I am still tired, and sleepy. In a way, this can be understood considering I am not a morning person.
My identity product is the card that was put in my baby’s bassinet when she was born. It is pink, it has hearts and stickers my daughter’s and I demographics.
The technology fast was not a difficult experience for me. I have experienced and experimented with living a day without technology before. Not taking too seriously during the previous times, I did put more focus into completely eliminating technology out of my life for the day. I ran into moments of unaware actions like paying for a drink with my debit card or using my scale in the morning to check my weight. The overall experience was interesting and lead me to explore some hobbies I had forgotten I enjoyed.
The instructor took the wheel first, ours was a retired Army master sergeant who I suspect had been special ops, but a very cool and competent guy. We sped around the racetrack, he threw the car in reverse, slammed on the brakes and put the car in reverse direction. We would learn or try that maneuver...all of us, even the person who had never driven before. We learned how to avoid a roadblock and how to use this maneuver to turn around quickly and head in the opposite direction. We learned to be on the lookout for vehicles on the side of the road and not to drive by those either. Now, about the drinking the night before, I really didn't overdue it, but I got real queasy in that back seat while the others were driving, although I could
In my own career, I have grown to perfect my content and find it similar to that of Beige & CoCo. I have an impeccable attention to detail and a focus that allows me to create strong content whether it be photographing flat lays, orchestrating phot shoots, or strategically displaying content on social media channels that draw in new
It all began with a simple phone call one night after dinner. “Quavo,” my father hollered up the stairs, “Takeoff is ringing your line and it’s urgent.” As I came down the stairs to pick up my cell phone, I was not happy. I was tired and had looked forward to a nice, quiet evening at home visiting with my father at his house, not another trap run with Takeoff. Thirty minutes later, however, Takeoff’s Rolls Royce Phantom whipped into our driveway, and Takeoff was leaning on the horn before the car came to a full stop. Grabbing my coat from the couch, I walked out of my front door in my with all the enthusiasm of a white boy walking onto gang territory.
This is my Instagram. Yes i know my amount of followers isn't huge but i am a 18 years of age. i am self taught make up artist who just loves to learn new things in the beauty industry and would love to continue to learn new things. As growing up i have actually started out using NYX products to learn how to use make up and would actually go on Nyxcosmetics.com and look at all the beautiful people you guys would post to show how the products are used. I am a positive person and believe that one day i would be able to be apart of the NYX family. It would be a pleasure to be able to promote NYX and show how wonderful the products work. I'm still in the process of growing my social media followers but i am prepared for the work and the time i
Almost everyone in developed countries, during this day and age, has social media accounts. There are many platforms of social media including but not limited to: facebook, twitter, instagram, snapchat, myspace, linkedin, etc… And there are many reasons for using these social media platforms such as: keeping contact with old friends and distant relatives, meeting new people and sharing life experiences with people around the globe, or stalking that cute girl at work but never making contact. Among these reasons, and many more is the controversial topic of whether job employers should be able to use of social media to look up applicants. I believe job employers have a right to look up potential employees because doing so would allow them to
