I want you to know just how much I miss you. Life has been very different out here living my life on the front lines. I miss running through the fields and playing baseball with you. I miss going down to the lake and fishing with you. I hope that you know that I would do anything to be with you right now but sadly I can’t. I have now realized war isn’t what it is made out to be. Some movies make soldiers out to be some extraordinary heroes and show that the good guys never die but that's not the case in the real battlefield. As it turns out underneath the uniform is just a normal person like me or you. Also, as it turns out the good guys die too, and a lot of them. Life in the trenches might be worse than it is made out to be. Living conditions
My legacy began when my family taught me to read. My mom and grandma took turns teaching me different letters and sounds out of an early reader. By the time I reached kindergarten, I read well enough to strengthen my skills on my own. My favorite author from kindergarten was Eric Carle. I brought home Brown Bear Brown Bear so many times that my mother told me I was not allowed to read it again.
If I could go back to any time in the world, I would go back to France in October 1944 on the Western Front. World War Two has always interested me. Being able to see the revolutionary weapons would be incredible. I would also love to take part in such a historic and epic war. War is a horrible event that plays a major part in human development.
This day was busy, but I was able to help out more by checking patients in and checking them out this time around. Felt a lot more comfortable with the system and interacting with the clients and their pets. This was my last day working in the front, I enjoyed working with Leonore and the rest of the staff in the front but, I am very excited to work in the back to get hands on experience working with the technician’s and the doctor’s.
Looking back to the WODs something that I would like to change would be be doing them correctly, as during most of the WODs I was not able to do them correctly. In the future I would like to complete all my exercises correctly with our any mistake, as during WOD#2 I did not complete the rest for 60 seconds, as I was not that tired. For the mile I walked for 17 minutes as it was really hot, and i did not want to get tired easily, so I decided to walk. However in the future, I would like to run for 1 round, jog for another, and sprint for the last. So if i do the math I would be able to run one round for a 1 minute, jog for 1:30, so if we did 8 rounds it would take me around 9 minutes to complete the mile, which is really good for me, as my
Hi iam Edgardo Flores i was born in casa grande, az not that far away from our state capital,Phoenix, Az.theres nothing better to do in a hot summer than going out with the friends to a lake and have a blast riding jet skis boats and my favorite, swimming! My activites of the day are shooting, riding horses, and my favorite one is quad riding.Thats right! ive been doing these fun exciting hobbies since i was 9 years old.pretty young huh?
“Hey you want to drive”, my step-dad yelled over the loud engine of blue grizzly 4x4 quad I yelled “yes!!”, so as I got one the quad I put on my helmet and fased the strap on the same color helmet.
In the beginning of my junior year, I decided to join my high school’s PROUD club, a gay/straight alliance. Support for the LGBTQ community was always something I believed in, but I was always a lot of talk and no action with my beliefs- feminism and liberal ideas included. In this club, I found so many young people passionate about their beliefs, and so ready to go out and make a difference in the world. Joining this club changed my position on standing up for what I believe in. It made me realize that to truly change the world for the better, you have to do a lot more than post on social media about it.
My role in the military has not had the advantages of going to school as often as I would have liked. My final push to complete my program was abruptly interrupted last year. I was notified on March 2014 that I would deploy to Afghanistan on May 2014 to support SOCOM for 12 months. This was a similar setback on top of others in the past.
Overall, my extracurricular the most important thing I did while I was in high school, I joined this nation's Military when I was 17 years old. My experience in the Military has changed my life for the better, not for the benefits, but in the pride I feel to be able to be apart of something bigger than myself. Not only do I feel pride when I wear the uniform, but when my 8 year old brother tells me that he wants to be in the Army to make me proud. In a sense the Military made me put my head on straight and start to care about the important things. As I became more responsible and realized what the Military was trying to teach me and enrolled myself in an EMT Certification Course so that I have a chance to improve myself and others by serving
The lives I would touch for my legacy would be my family and friends because those are the people that care about me and what I do. That they would help me out with anything I need. My major accomplishment would be a pro soccer player and go to Rutgers College. The other accomplishment in my life would be to get very good grades in school to get a good education.
Four or Five years ago if you were to tell me that I would be confidently applying to the University of Miami I would have laughed. Through high school I did not give much effort and like most of my peers, thought that furthering my education was my only option. Nearing the end of my senior year I started realizing that no noteworthy university would even consider accepting someone like me. As the days ticked away, I applied to a nearby college with an incredibly high acceptance rate and found myself opening an acceptance letter a few weeks later.
We Three Kings Daycare was the venue in which I chose to complete my field work. Luckily for me, my mom is one of the employees and so gaining access, setting up a theme, date, and time was one of the easier aspects of this project. The group, my mom, is typically responsible for ranges from 8-11 children ages six through eight. Due to the slightly older age group I was working with. I forego beginning with a song partly because I could not find anything relatable to my theme, and also because I planned on doing my story time after they had come in from playing outside. I figured outdoor play would be enough exertion to keep the jitters at bay. Gathering everyone in a circle, I introduced myself and had everyone go around and tell me their
Today I had the pleasure to talk to Moira while she watched her son and husband play baseball. Moira has been in the Y for a while. She explained to me that her family lived in Washington D.C. before they came to Houston. There she started her son off in swim lessons and she loved it. She decided to try out basketball and also loved it. When she moved down to Houston, she signed her son her for baseball for the experience and for time for father and son bonding. Also, because she like the way the programs are ran at the Y. Her purpose for staying in the Y is because it’s less expensive than a private gym, she likes Child Watch so she can work out, and because it integrates something for the whole family. It’s good to see that the Y is still provided and family cultures in
I await for the day I will see you again. The thought of you keeps me going while I am fighting in the cold, dark, and musty trenches. They tell us we are fighting for the protection of our loved ones. When I sit with my gun in my hand I know I am doing this to protect you, my love. I hope you are not mad at me for volunteering, know that I did it for you. Here, I am making friends that I will keep for life.
