The start of 8th Grade Football When I was younger, I was always interested in sports. I was usually at the top of my class in sports. I always dreamed that I would be the best at what I do. Even though things seemed hard, I would try my hardest even if things looked bleak. Football was my game and I played to the best of my ability.
Starting 8th grade football, being one of the older kids, felt awesome. I knew I had advantage over most of the kids on the team. My job being one of the older one’s was to teach the younger ones their place. It was the first day of practice I was really excited to be playing the sports again. I was confident that I would be the running back because I played that position
We’ve all had that time in our life that we were ready to give up, or quit because we didn’t care about anything anymore. Life seemed like it was getting to tough and nothing right was happening. This happened to me one time in particular that I can remember. In my senior year of football I had came across an injury in my knee. I had torn my meniscus in my left knee. It was one of the worst pains I had experienced in my life. I thought my final season was over. After learning from the doctor that I could still play but I would have to endure the pain when I played. While we’re in high school we start to get in these situations and have these sorts of feeling such as giving up and not caring what happens to us but that is not the answer to
Tonight was a game that determined the outcome of the season. Tonight they had to win. Tonight was the night where they had to improve their record. York High is a tough team full of many talented athletes, but lacking the knowledge of the game. Or so we thought. Walking into the locker room, you could feel the intensity of the guys. They knew that their season depended on tonight. It was their last night as freshman football players, it was their last night to make a name for themselves. They tried to play it off as if they weren't nervous, but I could tell otherwise. Dani, the injured guys, and myself had the water filled and ready to be loaded onto the bus in no time. Now it was just a matter of getting all the guys onto the bus. At 3:30 the bus arrived, and that meant game time would soon be approaching.
We start with the ball i'm the guard so I start with it. I dribble down make a move and shoot. splash I drained it. We get the ball back, we pass it around until isaac hits a wide open three pointer. The game ends we win by 6 points but 2 baskets because they were three’s. The next 5 games we won. We were undefeated going into the playoffs. We play some really bad teams.
With a score of 44 to 37, the Varsity Football Team won against the Midway Panthers last Friday night at Waco.
This was my first college football game I been to and it was a great experience. I heard of tailgating before, but never actually been to one, until Saturday. I went to the tailgate and got to eat free hotdogs and also got a lot of free t-shirts and koozies. At the tailgate they were a lot of people walking around playing games, drinking and dancing, all before the game started. I left the tailgate a little early to go get changed for the game so I missed the parade leading into the stadium. I went back to my dorm and decided to head to the stadium with some friends. My friends took long to get ready so we got arrived a couple of minutes late to the game. We were planning to go walking, but then we saw other people waiting for the bus who were also heading to the game so we waited with them. All the busses said GAME DAY on them and were coming about every five minutes to pick up people. It wasn’t until the fifth bus that we got on because all the buses that were coming were packed like sardines. More
One of my favorite memories that I’ve is my freshman year of football. This is my favorite because we turned ourselves into a 1-8 8th grade team to an 8-1 freshman team. This is a good memory because we came together as a team instead of individuals. This all happened week 1 in August of 2012. One of our teammates shoes were thrown on top of the rafters in the main gym at East Noble High School. Coach Amstutz was told about the incident and the whole team was punished and was forced to run 2 miles.
Victorious we had one more game one more chance to realize our goal make the playoffs. This one game summed up our season going into it our quarterback goes down with a high ankle sprain and can not play, but we were not worried as our backup was a phenomenal athlete we just needed him to play other spots till now. It is friday October tenth we had a home game against the Seymour Thunder who was in the same boat we were in win or go home, they were also carrying on their roster two Wisconsin badger recruits six foot six three hundred and sixty pound Jon Dietzen then do it all lineman at six foot four and three hundred even pounds Gunnar Roberege. The game does not start how we would like right out of the game they score on a long touchdown
Since they were only going to be involved with the first play of the preseason, they didn’t need much instruction. Rosanna went over the basics of the game, the role the quarterback plays and what the tight end was responsible for. One thing I can say about Rosanna, she is bold.
I think that playing football is one of the best decisions I’ve made. I have become a football star. Last year, in 6th grade, I played wide receiver and I was the leading scorer. There were only 2 touchdowns in the whole season that I didn’t get. That was my best season so far. Football has become my favorite sport and it has made me tougher.
To be good at something you have to work had, you must give all your effort and all of the time you are being tested. Whether it is about sports or school, you cannot be good at the thing you are doing if you do not practice or give a good effort.
Sitting on the cold bleachers, I waited for my sister to appear. Cradling a cup of hot chocolate I tried to warm my hands from the harsh fall winds. Taking a sip of the cocoa, I could feel the warmth of the liquid go down my throat. Then I saw her. My sister ran onto the field surrounded by her teammates. A huge grin on her face as she sprinted to the outfield, softball cradled in her glove, she looks like she belonged. The next year she was no longer apart of that team, yet I was still found on the bleachers. Once again I looked for my sister, warming myself with my hot chocolate. I found her running onto the field, lacrosse net in hand. Alongside of a new group of teammates; she still looked like she belonged. Another year passes, and I was
Almost two years ago, while everyone else was fixated on school, I could not believe what I was in the midst of. My soccer team was venturing to state for the first time in school history, boys or girls! Nothing will ever compare to that exhilarating moment. This experience showed me that hard work does pay off, and the friends that I made will last a lifetime. Having the opportunity to stand on the biggest stage in high school soccer was incomprehensibly elating. I will never forget the gripping time I persevered to the state championship.
Football is a game of passion, a time when nothing else matters and the only thing that matters is going out there having fun and fighting for the guy next to you. Football has always been something that I loved and had a wild passion for. I’ve made friendships and memories to last a life time and I can always be grateful that football did that for me. Now of course I’ve had some bad memories during football as well, I remember walking out of the film room on the last day of spring ball and having Coach Antle grab me and say “Gage, I think I want to try you at a new position, I want to put you at defensive end. We need you more there and we think you can really excel there.” I remember being so furious, I had played linebacker ever since I could remember and now the last day of spring ball my senior year everything was about to change.
After my first game at running back, I felt like everyone looked up to me because the Coaches told me the next week that I was going to dress for the varsity game and play in the J.V. game, because I did so well at my game. I was so excited and proud of myself because of the perseverance that I showed. I could have given up, but I kept my confidence up and challenging myself to work harder and telling myself not to quit. After my freshman year the head coach of the varsity football team introduced me to my mentor.
My very first Varsity high school football game was the best experience of my life. It was the first week of school and I had practice every day. The practices were heavy we practiced for four hours every day after school. Everyone on the team felt we were being overworked but, that was just the beginning of our season. Our first game was a Friday night all that time practicing made us ready for that night. Two hours before the game we had loud music playing and we were all yelling to get ready for the game. I remember getting on the field and hearing all the fans screaming. Now it was time for kickoff I lined up on the 50-yard line then the whistle was blown, and I sprinted to go tackle the ball carrier. I made lots of hits but also took some
