Journal Entry 8
From this week, I think that learned something very valuable and applicable thing in my career and my personal life i.e. communication. In my opinion, communication plays a very important role for any relationship to have a strong foundation and make it last longer. At the same time, it very important how one expresses it and the other perceives it. The non verbal communication was one of the important thing to know for any person. There are a few components to non verbal communication like facial expression, eye contact, and touching. As an international student, it is often very hard for people from different culture to fit into another culture and get adapted to how the new culture works. Something that I have significantly

Often times during my interview, I have observed that my mood totally impacts the kind of opinion or answers I have it for the interviewer instead of just freaking out. Another component in communication are the boundaries, and the kind of communication pattern that one would prefer. I learned from this class that a long distance relationship should have theses four important values like observation, needs, feeling, and request. Since, most of the long distance relationships might not be able to meet frequently,so communication is one of the most significant thing for couples to sustaining their long distance relationships. Furthermore, even if the relationship is not a long distance one still it is very important what both of you value and would like to have a clear picture about the relationship. Finally, I think that communication is a very important and a meaningful language for human existence of relationships. Furthermore, for a person it might be different how one would express this and for the other one who would perceive this. Thus, one important thing to keep in mind is how we all think because our bodies change our
I met with my colleague earlier this week and she asked if it was ok with me to facilitate the substance abuse group on Mondays, instead of the relapse prevention group on Wednesdays. She said this will help me to become more knowledgeable about the street drugs and there effects on the body. I told her I didn’t mine taking over the substance abuse group at all. In the substance abuse group the facilitator usually have discussions on but not limited to the different types of illicit drugs on the street and the physical and psychological effects on the human body. The different routes of entry to the body and how long it stays in the body is discussed as well.
Communication is important in relationships as it allows us to share our interest, concerns, and support one other; organize our lives and make decisions. Communication allows us to work together. Effective communication is based on the way we talk and listen, and how we respond with our body language. We can all learn how to improve the way we communicate but it takes more than words to create a safe, exciting and secure relationship. Too often the signals we send are not those we intend, when this happens, often both connection and trust are lost in our relationships.
Communication is part of everyday life between people and can be used in many different ways. People communicate to build relationships with one another, but also to maintain those relationships formed. When a relationship is built through communication, people then can express their needs, wants and feelings to each other, as well as being able to reassure an individual. Communicating allows people to share thoughts, ideas and information to others where
1. Communication is the most important part to understanding and being understood. It is vital for our survival and used in every day of our lives, from the moment we are born. Talking, shouting, crying, reading, writing, seeing, listening, using body language, expressions (e.g. smiling, frowning), gestures and signs are just some of the means by which we communicate.
One of the reasons people communicate is to understand each other. Understanding is a big part of communication as you have to understand what people problems may be, but also to take on board their views and opinions on the situation to be in a position to hopefully sort out their underlying problems.
Interpersonal Communication is a very important ingredient in making strong, healthy relationships. Communicating is how we get a better understanding of one another’s perception of things, as well as how we help someone to better understand ours. We need to express our feelings in relationships and know that they are reciprocated. Not communicating leads to problems and misunderstandings. People need to learn to understand what the other person is trying to communicate. Interpersonal communication is the process by which people exchange information, feelings, and meaning through verbal and non-verbal messages: it is face-to-face communication. It is about what is said, how it is said, and the use of non-verbal communication through
When we talk about communication one of the most important things we always want to insure is that the message
Communication is the process of gathering meaning from the world around us and using verbal and non-verbal messages to share this meaning with others. (Beebe, Beebe, and Redmond, 2005) More specifically, interpersonal communication can be defined as; “a distinctive, transactual form of human communication involving mutual influence, usually for the purpose of managing relation ships.” (Beebe, Beebe, and Redmond, 2005, p. 6) Interpersonal communication is extremely complex and encompasses many different themes and issues that affect many aspects of our daily lives. These
For my written task one I decided to make personal/professional journal entries written by O’Brien. What inspired me most to write from O'Brien's perspective was the mysteriousness in which Orwell writes the character throughout 1984. As the audience we never learn as much as we want about O’Brien, his character plays a small role in the majority of the book until the end when he becomes the other key character besides Winston. I also felt really drawn to the character because of how much of his motives and personality is left for interpretation by the reader.
Communication is an ongoing process in which individuals exchange messages whose meanings are influenced by the history of the relationship and the experiences of the participants. (Adler, p.384) Communication depends on relationships between the people who are communicating, and on common basics between them. Problems in communications between people may arise due to differences in cultures, perceptions, values, and expectations from life.
1. Communication. Communication is key when trying to make a long distance relationship work. The two of you must be able to talk about anything and be comfortable with it. “Frequent communication, no matter how minor, will show that you care enough to put in the time and effort into the relationship” (Casey).

people communicate as we must appreciate that the language we speak, the body language we portray, may not necessarily correspond to that of others, and so it will need to be modified to promote a positive foundation on which relationships flourish.
It takes two individual to build a successful relationship. Relationships or marriage would be a success if the communications towards each other were strong. A strong and loving relationship is a source of great happiness in life. Unfortunately, a relationship that lacks communication can be a source of unhappiness. In addition, being in a relationship takes commitment, compromising and communication skills. Each individual has to share to each other their feelings and thoughts to know each other’s wants, and needs. Without shared understanding and lack of communication, the
