PWCS 31: Principles of communication in adult social care Identify the different reasons people communicate.
One of the reasons people communicate is to understand each other. Understanding is a big part of communication as you have to understand what people problems may be, but also to take on board their views and opinions on the situation to be in a position to hopefully sort out their underlying problems.
Another reason people communicate is so that they can build positive relationships with people and ensure that any support that may be needed, is given in the right way. Positive relationships can turn into wonderful things and can create a great bond with the other person involved which also creates trust eventually.

Finding out information about a certain individual from others can benefit you in many ways, for example, that person may have worked with that individual and knows them inside out and can give you tips on how they communicate best and how well they work with others or just how they generally have a conversation.
Observation is probably the biggest part of communication as you are using your own knowledge when getting to know someone and allowing them to feel comfortable around you and vice versa. When observing someone you observe their attitude, ability, body language and many other things and take all these into consideration when deciding on what is the best way to communicate with them. The most important thing when observing is taking it upon yourself not to judge them in any way.
There are many advantages to consider when trying to establish the communication and language needs, wishes and preferences of an individual. These advantages include: You can gain your own information Face to face discussion A full, in depth conversation may be gained Create your own opinion
Gaining your own information when talking to someone is very important, you can begin to create your own opinion on the person and work out ways in which it is best to communicate with them. You can also have a full, in depth conversation with someone which can be face to face which will enable you to find out a lot about a person by being face to face.

Establishing effective communication is about more than just exchanging information. You need to be able to understand emotion and intentions behind the information that 's being said, as well as being able to respond with a clear and honest message that fully portraits any information you need to
2.1 People communicate to let other people know their needs and wishes. They also need to tell others if they are in pain and how they are feeling, and to put their anxieties at ease.
To express needs to share ideas and information to reassure to express feelings to build relationships socialise to ask questions to share experiences. People will need to communicate with each other within a workplace not just so they can work part of a team but also for confidentiality and so they can trust each other with certain subjects.
1. Communication is the most important part to understanding and being understood. It is vital for our survival and used in every day of our lives, from the moment we are born. Talking, shouting, crying, reading, writing, seeing, listening, using body language, expressions (e.g. smiling, frowning), gestures and signs are just some of the means by which we communicate.
It is important to realize why we communicate. We communicate for a reason. The primary goal of communication is to share meaning and to connect with other people. Understanding these human needs and communication purposes is essential to success as a communicator. (Sole, 2011) There are many purposes for communicating. One of the most basic purposes is to meet personal needs. Humans are social animals; we need to interact with one another. Another purpose is to learn about yourself and others, this is a process that you must continue well
A. It is important to observe an indviduals reactions when communicating to gauge how people are feeling in the situation. Some people may have barriers when it comes to communicating such as personal space issues. It is imperitive to make the client feel as comfortable as possible when communicating, if the person looks to be feeling uncomfortable with how you are communicating they may not be taking in the information you are giving them putting them at potential risk or if it is the client that is giving the information they may be holding something back again putting them at risk.
As quoted, (Children and young peoples workforce, early and child care book 2010) there are a number of reasons why people communicate which are to:
1.1 People communicate for many different reasons, it is mainly for understanding what is going on around them and to know what needs to be done. To be able to express their feeling's and say what they need and want. For reassurance when they are not sure of something. And to ask question's when needed, To socialize and get to know other people and the thing's they like, dis-like and their background history.
You communicate, so individuals do not get anxious or worried, and you can listen to their concerns.
Assumption 2: Individuals enjoy talking about themselves and what they know and enjoy. If someone has new information about a topic they enjoy, they will most likely listen and remember that information given to them.
Interpersonal communication is a learned skill that can be improved with knowledge and practice. What makes these skills necessary is that they allow you to express your thoughts, feelings, and any information quickly and orderly. These skills can help you understand someone, and can even help you make an
Communication is an essential thing to everyday life. Communication is required in everything we do. Knowing how to communicate properly will help in many aspects of life like friends
To build relationships - People communicate to make new relationships the way we speak to them at first may make them feel welcome or overlooked.
In conclusion, communication helps us better understand an individual or situation. Communication enables us to resolve differences, build friendships and trust. Could you imagine the world without communication? Imagine having generations all over the world which would have to learn everything from scratch, this is what would happen without any communication.
I can learn many things by observing people and surroundings. I can have an idea what their feelings at the moment. When I was observing at the county office people did not look happy and looked bored. I can learn what do they like to drink or eat. Because I see some people eating some snacks and drinking. I can learn the strategies for moms to keep their kids busy when they get fussy, I saw moms letting kids play with their phones and snacking them or even singing to them. I can learn how each person act different to the same situation, some mothers do not care if their kid cries and others try to comfort them. I can learn that some people love each other no matter where they, I saw young couple kissing each other and holding hands while waiting. I can even tell if a person is easygoing or angry by observing only. I see some people were complaining and some did not care and that gives me clues about a person’s characteristics. I think I do not really have to talk to a person to learn something about that person. Observing for a certain amount of time will give some clues about a person.
