3.1 Research Design
This chapter gives an overview of the research design and will concentrate on the findings that arose from the analysis and interpretation of data. The information at hand will be primarily assembled through sets of questionnaires. The questions will be structured in relation to the objectives of the study, so as to achieve the desired results
3.2 The Research Instruments
The research instrument of choice for this investigative study is the written questionnaire. A questionnaire is a prepared question form submitted to respondents in order to obtain information about a given topic (Beins, 2003:31). A structured questionnaire, containing questions with alternative answers from which the respondent selects, is

The sample must be representative of the population from which it is drawn and must have a good size to warrant statistical analysis. For the purpose of this study; (a) one (1) educator; (b) one (1) learner; (c) one parent; and (d) one (1) member of SGB will be randomly selected from 5 schools. This will provide the researcher with a sample of 20 participants.
3.6 The Sampling Techniques/Procedures
The current study will be conducted through a non-probability sample since it deals with collecting data from participants who are willing to be part of the survey. The researcher aims to collect data from 20 subjects within a one month period. The reason that probability sample was not chosen was because it requires selecting subjects from a list which is not going to be done in this study. Availability sampling which is also called convenience sample is the type of sample that this study will utilize. The level of measurement of the questionnaire will be nominal; limiting to yes and no responses. The actual survey consists of seven closed ended questions and three one open ended question. Furthermore, the language that the surveys will be given are only in English. The research questions raised will be based from current empirical literature on adolescent pregnancy prevention programs and the role of the Department of Basic Education.
3.7 Data Collection Procedures
The manner
In response to the question set, I will go into detail of the study, consisting of the background, main hypotheses, as well the aims, procedure and results gathered from the study; explaining the four research methods chosen to investigate,
The research design used in this study was correlational. The correlational design allows the determination of existence or degree of relationship between two variables. In this study gender was used as the nominal independent variable and hours spent in in Pinterest weekly was the dependent variable. The correlational research method was chosen because it allows relevant evidence to be collected and the data collected is directly related to the research question. This type of study manages variations, identifies relationships between variables, and produces answer to the research question. The purpose of the research had to reflect on the research design in order to reveal whether or not there was a statistical significance, in this case
The questionnaires will be correctly labelled to ensure survey data will be correctly linked. Verify that all surveys collected have signed consent forms. Track and analyze data as it comes in. All data will be stored on computer files for easy access and to comply with privacy laws. In conducting of the pilot testing, efforts were made by the researcher to ensure the setting, choice of participants and interview methods were as close as those intended in the main study as possible. Interview the participants on any difficulty they encountered while responding to the questionnaires. Record and analyze their responses for drafting the final questionnaires. This form of data collection and management aims ensure the collection of accurate and reliable
For the purpose of this study, the researcher intends to use a cross-sectional research design where all the data will be collected at the same time. The distribution of the research questionnaires will take place over a time period of two weeks where the main data will be collected from the respondents.
This chapter covers the background and rationale, statement of the opportunity, purpose, research questions, nature of the study, definition of key terms, the significance of the study, assumptions, and limitations. It also covers the scope, worldview and theoretical foundation depicting the logical path of the research study.
Questionnaires, are cost effective and cover a large geographical area with the facility of the interviewee being able to fill them out at their own convenience when sent online. Questionnaires are used as an instrument for collecting survey material, providing structured often numerical data being able to be administered without the presence of the researcher (Wilson and McLean, 1994). A questionnaire is simply a ‘tool’ for collecting and recording information about a particular issue of interest. It is mainly made up of a list of questions, Questionnaires should always have a definite purpose that is related to the objectives of the research, and it needs to be clear from the outset how the findings will be used. Respondents also need to be made aware of the purpose of the research wherever possible, and should be told how and when they will receive feedback on the findings.
The research design seemed appropriate to address the aims of the research as sampling, data collection and analysis was carried out on the basis of qualitative research method.
The topic areas used to develop items for this survey questionnaire are derived from the research questions developed through the literature review. The research questions that guide this study are as follows:
The research design is appropriate to meet the aims of the research by answering the questions sought in the study, minimizing bias and anticipating confusion (LoBiondo-Wood and Haber, 2009). The researchers have
It is a time demanding design given that is a qualitative study. In order to manage, there will be research assistants that will help especially in collection of data from the respondents. The data analysis is complex and need time and finance. The thematic approach will be used in addition to prudent coding data (Li, Chen, & Zhu, 2014).
A brief summary of the two shall highlight the aims and focus of the research, the background and context of the studies, the research design research methods and the analysis and findings and
Before listing the limitations of the original research design, I will briefly summarise the research question and methodologies.
This report contains detailed and explanatory notes on the Presentation of Findings of the fifty completed Research Questionnaires.
The next section of the paper will look at the methods and design used for this study. This section will include information about how the participants were selected as well as demographic information regarding the participants. In addition, this section will include an explanation of the diversity of the sample participants. Finally, the instrument used to conduct the study will be detailed.
This study will use a 3 x 2 between subjects, qausi-experimental, factorial research design. The first independent variable, affect will be manipulated through one of three video clips. These videos induce either a positive affect, negative affect, or neutral (i.e. no affect). Videos were chosen because they have been shown to be a very effective method of inducing emotion under experimental conditions (Verleur, Verhagen, & Heuvelman, 2007). Whether or not the participants have completed a graduate level ethics course will serve as a subject independent variable. The dependent variable will be the number of correctly identified ethical issues on the Ethical Discrimination Inventory. The participant 's views on how strictly they should adhere to ethical guideline when confronted with an ethical dilemma will serve as a covariate in this study.
