Introduction This document analyzes Current Problems’ online presence and social media usage. Current Problems’ existing online presence includes their website, Facebook page, a newsletter, and a Flickr profile. My report will include an overall evaluation of the website and these social media platforms with a focus in website design and layout, audience engagement, information and social media platforms, information, and content. Later sections will also analyze Current Problems’ effectiveness in targeting stakeholders, expanding its audience, and achieving the non-profit’s goals. This font also has wide gaps in between letters which make skimming more difficult. Another issue comes from most of the website being 12 point font, which makes the text more difficult to see, especially in longer paragraphs. However, the website does combat some of these issues by having high contrasts in background and text and increasing user readability. Navigating the website also creates issues. Both the upcoming events and link to the newsletter fail to load, leading to an error report. On the opposite side of the spectrum, too many windows pop up when visitors hover over certain names in the “About Us” section, leading to a browser full of the same biography. Even then, other names have no information at all besides the name and title. Other information is lacking throughout the website unless certain paths are taken, including any information about specific projects. Audience Engagement The Current Problems’ website has a tab calling visitors to action labelled, “How You Can Help”. This page includes four ways to benefit Current Problems, including becoming a member, making a donation, becoming a sponsor, or becoming a volunteer. While the member application and donation button work, sponsors and potential volunteers must send an email to receive necessary information.
