Summer Heights High is an Australian mockumentary series which uses satirical devices to depict the public school system, and its teachers and students in a negative light. The creator, Chris Lilley, portrays these subjects using stereotypes, irony, and hyperbole. The show focuses much attention on the main three characters; Hellen "Mr G." Gregson, an overenthusiastic high school drama teacher; Ja'mie King, a teenage girl doing an exchange programme from a private school to a public school; and Jonah Takalua, a Tongan troublemaker. These characters are all represented in a very exaggerated, stereotypical way, throughout the series.

Imagine a world where everyone was accepted, no matter where they came from. It’s a dream world, am I right? Everyone has to come up in the world, and make their own place for themselves. Well, in Fresh off the Boat, Eddie Huang has to do this in the suburban world of Orlando. Being Taiwanese, he does not exactly fit into the stereotypical ‘American’ life. So, in this series, he and his family work hard to live the American dream.
Rebecca Rea Sugar, or known as Rebecca Sugar is a powerful female comic illustrator, songwriter, and animator. Additionally, she was a storyboard artist for the Cartoon Network Show Adventure Time but later moved on to create a more meaningful cartoon that a lot of people know as Steven Universe. Although Steven Universe seems like just another silly cartoon that you watch every weekend or after school, there is a whole new meaning to it. Rebecca is the first female cartoon creator, and the first creator to animate LGBT+ stories for kids. As a child, Rebecca struggled with her identity and who she was and later realized she was bisexual, but as you know, she was frowned upon by most of the people around her and the only people who supported
Following the success of the US version of The Office starring Steve Carell on NBC, Parks and Recreation, a small-town government political mockumentary, premiered on NBC in April 2009. The show trails Leslie Knope, an employee of Pawnee, Indiana’s Parks and Recreation department, as she pursues both her political and altruistic ambitions to better the town and perhaps the entire country through bureaucratic hard-work. The audience journeys through the amusing political climate of a small middle-America town, as Leslie attempts to beautify and magnify her town via new parks, programs, and events. With thanks to the talented, comedic cast, including SNL’s Amy Poehler and The West Wing’s Rob Lowe, Parks and Recreation aired for 7 seasons, recently

“The Golden Girls” is an iconic television show set in 1980’s Miami that not only provides insight to aging in America through humor, but sometimes lectures the viewer on social topics with an obvious liberal agenda. Even though I have probably viewed every episode hundreds of times over the past thirty years, I still find myself eager to watch it every night at bedtime to end the stresses of the day on a happy note. I do not always agree with the opinions expressed by the characters or the outcome of a particular episode. However, I still come back for more each night because most episodes end on a happy note, and that allows me to drift into sleep with a little less stress on my mind.
Good comedies are very rare to come across, in today’s times. Due to the fact that many comedies are not as funny as they 're thought out to be and they focus on issues that not related to anything funny at all. Satire, is mostly seen associated with comedies and comedians were they express their selves using irony or a lot of ridicule to show people stupidity. In my thesis essay, I want to show the reader that I have a full concept of what the essay is about while showing how satire is used in the topic I chose. In William Goldman’s novel, a comedy entitled “The Princess Bride”. There is a lot of satire that is paraphrased in the book.
This genre is typically modern, perky and upbeat, but the common narrative in all of them is that it features a woman who is strong and she overcomes adversity to reach her goals. There is also a message of empowerment that also struggles with a romantic predicament and using comedy to poke fun at the male characters. Industries are still producing soppy romantic comedies for the female audience but the divide between the standard chick flick and romantic comedy is slowly disappearing. Similarly to the beginning of this essay it is evident that institutions are moving in the direction of women’s place in culture in relation to this film genre; women are usually shown as the super power since they are made to appeal to the female audience. However
Have you ever heard about the daily show? Jon Stewarts the daily show good or bad for American democracy? I think is good because the news that we have now is boring and more people would watch it now then the regular news. I think people will get more entertained and not bored. Making people watch it and liking it.
I recognize that, even coming from a father of two preteen daughters, that headline might sound alarmist, so let me elaborate—the Disney Channel and its prime competitor, Nickelodeon's Teen Nick, are a pox upon our tween nation, corrosive forces that impart more awful messages than any of Disney's retrograde princess films (and attendant merchandising).
Since the late 1990s, a anti-globalization duo that makes up the Yes Men have been creating satirical content, and “culture jamming” to spread their ideals throughout the mass media. The end of the film states that The Yes Men, “Help whoever holds power that needs to be criticised.” this is typically done by creating “Spectacles that reveal something about our culture that is profoundly a problem. Their work started with two misleading websites in a pre “fake news” world, causing many people horrified and amazed at the satire and spectacle these men make, and some could have took it at face value.
Blonde is, at first glance, soft; it feels pliant and yielding in a way that Ocean’s past works haven’t. But just beyond that surface is a hardened core. Ocean’s voice, always easy above all else, often sounds stony but apologetic, like he’s talking to someone he’s afraid of hurting. Blonde is both full and empty; love is never allowed to exist without lack. On "Ivy," a pretty, lilting song, Ocean sings, "I thought that I was dreaming when you said you love me," but, in case you thought this was a love song, he follows with, "The start of nothing.
Directed and written by Yasuhiro Yoshiura, Time of Eve sets its viewers on an escapade where the relationship between humans and androids is further explored and distorted. Time of Eve in itself is an anime that manages to be compelling in a visual sense, and just as thought provoking in a thematic sense. At first glance, one may disregard Time of Eve as simply being an anime where the correlation to the androids having a soul/sentience is the overall takeaway. On the other hand, sentience is vital, yet Time of Eve presents us with an even greater ideologic approach that is much needed for the current era of humanity and possibly the future. It is progressive in the way that it teaches acceptance of one regardless of background and shows how
