NASA says that over 97% of scientists agree that climate change is happening, and humans are causing it. Not only NASA, but all around the world people are trying to do something about climate change. Like the Met Office Hadley Centre, the NOAA National Climate Data Center, and the Japanese Meteorological Agency.
Climate change is simply, the climate changing. The reason the the climate changing is that humans are releasing CO2, or Carbon Dioxide. This causes the atmosphere to get thicker, and thus heating the Earth more efficiently. It is a simple as burning coal. So in you house, leaving on the lights could cause more coal to be burned, thus releasing more CO2 into the atmosphere.
Climate change can cause some pretty bad things for ecosystems.
Climatologist Tim Ball argues this point in his article, The Science Isn’t Settles – The Limitations of Global Climate Models. Dr. Ball looks at the data of global temperatures and concludes that the earth’s atmosphere is actually cooling while in its cooling cycle, which is the complete opposite to the assumption that the atmosphere is heating up. In 1999 a petition was asked the U.S. Government to reject the environment treaty The Kyoto Protocol, which was signed by over 17,000 other scientists sharing the same views. These scientists view that there is no convincing scientific evidence around the idea of global warming and all of these conclusions are not justified. They believe that the human release of CO2 and other greenhouse gasses are not contributing to global warming and the climate change, instead the increase of CO2 is promoting plant and animal growth. Some other scientists argue that global warming is being blown way out of portion and its effects are so small we will not notice its effects. They believe this increasing in extensive publicity is an environmentalist scam for more recognition, power, and
First, an overwhelming scientific consensus agrees that human activity is primarily responsible for Global Climate Change. A study in 2010 showed that 97-98% of researchers agree that human activity is the primary cause for climate change around the world. This study also found that the expertise of researchers unconvinced was “substantially below” the researchers that were. The 2013 Cook review showed that out of the 11.944 studies, less than 1% completely rejected the possibility of humans causing this. A different review of 13, 950 studies of climate change found only 24 that rejected humans causing climate change. Let’s just go with majority rules. A different study held by Bray and Von Storch, two German scientists, showed that 83.5% of scientists studying climate believe that humans are causing the recent amounts of climate change. Also, a study in 2011 showed that 84% of scientists studying earth, space, the atmosphere, oceans and hydrology believe that human caused climate change is
On one side of the argument we have we have scientists, who recognise that climate change is present in our society today and realise the importance of direct action. They provide us with important and relevant data and statistics that are evidence that climate change is real.
Selfish human beings are neglecting the major clues given by Mother Nature that indicate that climate change poses tremendous risks to the planet. NASA scientists have detected greater O2 emissions, and dramatically increasing global temperatures. Global temperatures have spiked higher than at any other recorded time in the 20th century.
Climate change is one of the most controversial and ongoing topics in society today. Scientist and politicians alike all have opinions, but very often they are not in line with each other. 97% of climatologists agree that climate change is happening, as well as many of the large corporations in this field such as NASA, the Geological Society of America, and the American Association for the Advancement of science. Still, these debates take place on sites such as climatedebatedaily.com or the worldwide conference that was held on June 6, 2015 that took place 79 countries. Both sides claim to have solid evidence that supports their theories, but it is evident to most scientists and corporations alike that the human race is creating our own destruction
Ninety-seven percent of climate scientists agree that climate-warming trends over the past century are very likely due to human activities, and most of the leading scientific organizations worldwide have issued public statements endorsing this position.
A study shows that there was a 97% consensus among scientists who were interviewed said that global warming is caused by humans in 2015. The number is always changing considering the fact that there was a 100 percent consensus by 2004, with a percentage of 91 scientists in agreement in the beginning of 2014 with a 93 percent consensus by the end of 2014. (Friends) All of these scientists believe that global warming is being caused by and can be prevented by humans. They see that sea levels are rising because of melting ice caps, the number of immense wildfires is increasing along with the length of the wildfire season, droughts are becoming more severe, storms are becoming more extreme and common, and dangerous heat waves are becoming an issue. Sea levels rising dramatically increases the risk of flooding, especially in the Gulf of Mexico and U.S. East Coast. Similarly, more rain falls during the heaviest downpours, increasing the risk of flooding events even more with the temperature increase caused by climate change. Scientists see that climate change has significant implications for our health, including increased air pollution and a longer and more intense allergy
Nasa has imperical data that is backed by substantial proof that in fact our planet is expierencing climate change. Studies show that human-produced greenhouse gassess are causing global warming to occur. Particular gassess that are released in the atmosphere are causing the heat to be unable to escape the way it naturally would. Since some gases have the tendency to linger in the atmosphere and not escape the climate has no choice but to expeirence change.
Climate change can be defined as a significant change in the “average weather” of any given region sustained in the long-term and can be caused by Earth 's dynamic processes, external forces including variations in sunlight intensity, and also by human activities (USEPA, 2014).
Climate change is not an idea that just popped into existence within the last few years, it has been a political issue since the 1990's but the issue began to raise its head in the 1970's. There are many different factors that play into the greenhouse effect that has wrapped the planet. The most important cause is the gases in the atmosphere blocking heat from escaping. While carbon dioxide plays a part in the greenhouse effect, the most abundant is water vapor while the methane in the atmosphere is far more active than the carbon dioxide will ever be. Nitrous oxide, used in soil cultivation practices, and Chlorofluorocarbons, which are synthetic compounds of industrial origin, also play a part, but on a smaller scale (Global Climate Change:
Global warming projections have been proven wrong many times. The majority of predictions made by scientists were not true. Al Gore, the 45th Vice President of the United States and an environmentalist, said in 2008 that the North Pole would have no ice in the next five years. “...Arctic sea ice coverage was nearly 9,000 cubic kilometers by the end of [2013] melting season, up from about 6,000 cubic kilometers during the same time last year.” The Arctic ice has not been decreasing, but increasing. Just like Al Gore, most of the other scientist that says global warming is an important issue, are
Climate Change is a change of global or regional climate patterns, usually due to toxic gases in the atmosphere. Sea levels are rising, coastal cities are at risk, and harsher natural disasters, are all effects of climate change on the environment. Most pollutants come from burning fossil
Climate Change Is Real Water is rising, glaciers are melting, wildfires are happening, posing a huge threat to the future and who’s to blame?... Us! I believe that Climate change is real, there is factual evidence to prove so, and it poses a threat to our future and the people and animals in it.
Climate is sometimes confused with weather, which can lead some people to think that an abnormally cold day can mean that climate change and global warming is a myth. Climate is the weather conditions of an area over an extended period. Climate change is the current warming trend of weather mainly caused by human activities. According to a report written by NASA on global climate change, the main cause of this new human induced, climate change is what’s known as the “greenhouse effect.” The greenhouse effect results when the atmosphere traps gasses, such as carbon dioxide, nitrogen, and methane which causes earth to trap heat (“Global Climate Change”). According to a report by the Washington State Department of Ecology, carbon dioxide and other heat-trapping gasses caused by humans have warmed the earth and are causing many negative
This doesn't necessarily mean that every scientist sees eye to eye on each component of the climate change problem, but broad agreement exists that climate change is happening and is primarily caused by excess greenhouse gases from human activities.” (EPA)
