I grew up in Panama City Florida, home of the worlds most beautiful beaches. My childhood was filled with priceless experiences at the local amusement each summer and with playing with my five siblings on the sandy white beach. I haven’t been many places in my life; however, one of the most memorable places I have been would definitely be Lake of the Woods. The lake itself is beautiful. I can still remember the spray as my family and I skipped across the water in our boat. I had never been to the Boundary Waters so, naturally I had just assumed it was like any other lake; although, I knew it was much larger. The first time my family and I went to the Boundary Waters was only to fish for a week over the summer; nevertheless, the beauty of the land trapped us and asked us to stay and we ended up staying two. Cheers, to paradise. Santa Monica beach is where myriad of my best tween memories were made. Specifically the silky, gold colored skin tans my oldest sister and I was out to get, blackened fish aroma from local restaurants, to the courtside seats for the glimmering scenery of paradise. Truly, I loved the Santa Monica beach because I enjoyed the glimmering scenery, fun outdoor attractions, and quality time spent with my family.

My parents and I happily trudged out of our chilled condo room, weighed down by various beach supplies. We made our way to the elevator, slowly but surely exiting the maze we call our condo hallways. As we glided down, floor after floor, we finally reached the parking garage. We stepped out of the elevator feeling a mix of humidity and heat immediately cling to our tan bodies. We exited the garage to find a beautiful scene. Birds were flying overhead as there were sun rays beating down against white, hot sand. We crossed the bridge that held shoes and scattered shells. After we did so, we pressed our feet against the white sand that belonged to Destin, Florida. The sight was even more alluring than I had ever imagined.

The place where I feel most comfortable is a place where I am calm. A place that is peaceful in its own ways. It is the place to go to get away from all my troubles. It is the one place where I could sit forever, and never get tired of just staring into the deepest blue I have ever seen. It is the place where I can sit and think the best. A place where nothing matters but what is in that little moment. The one place capable of sending my senses into an overload. This place is the ocean.
