“Families are the compass that guides us. They are the inspiration to reach great heights, and our comfort when we occasionally falter”(Henry). My family has several different aspects that make us a “family”. Many times I have thought to myself that Family isn’t important, although I think about it a little harder and my mind completely changes. The overall theme of a family is different for every single person. Morals are just another example of how different families are. My family has shaped me into the person I am today. The impact on my family is a lasting aspect. Many people believe family is only blood and I can’t disagree with that statement more. Many different factors go into describing Family, and the theme, morals, and lasting impacts describe my family.
A family is an extremely subjective term to describe people that provide support, love, and teachings. First, receiving support from my family is truly the best feeling imaginable. My siblings and I, are extremely different from one another. Without my parents being able to accept and support our differences we wouldn’t be who we are today. Nowadays, I truly believe the only people that love me is my family. No matter what happens my family is there to love me whenever I need them. Having that love from my family is what I need the most days. Lastly, receiving the feedback and lessons my parents provide me have shaped me into the person I am today. My parents tend to be relatively lenient with certain topics
Family can be defined as people who are related to you, consisting of (but not limited to): grandparents, parents, siblings, and children. Our families affect who we are by raising us in a particular way that coincides with their culture and beliefs. As we age and learn more, we can decide whether we will keep these beliefs or accept a new truth. This can cause people to either embrace their family, or distance themselves.
My family, which are my three boys are my world. Every decision, including going back to school and working nights so I could be there for them during the day was made with them in mind. Family means different things for different people. I personally do not think family can just be classified as mom, dad and kids. It is whomever has made the decision to go through life together as a team. The author of our text book, Kendall describes family like this, “As relationships in which people live together with commitment, form an economic unit and care for any young, and consider their identity to be significantly attached to the group.” (Kendall, 2014) I personally think family is the foundation that makes us who we are and makes society so
Family is “a group of people who are related to each other: a social unit consisting of parents and their children” (merriam-webster.com). My family has had a very positive influence on my development. I was always taught family comes first and my sister was my best friend. I happen to have lived with my extended Italian family for most of my life. When I was younger, my Nana lived with us and after I was married, my parents moved into the in-law apartment in my house. My family was and still is a very important part of my life. We are always there for each other and still are very active in each other’s lives. For me, personally, it is hard to talk about family without mentioning my Italian culture. Being from an all Italian family and since I am only the second generation born in the United States, I am quite certain that culture has had a major effect on my development.
What is a family? Family is defined in many different ways by different people. The main purpose in being a part of a family is it being a safe haven. When something goes wrong, your family should be the first group of people you would turn to. I define family as being a group of people who always sticks together no matter what the situation may be.
Family as defined by Webster’s College Dictionary can be one of many different people. Family can be your parents, spouse, children, brother, sister, grandmother, uncle, any blood relative, or even people who are not blood related that share that common bond (Webster 475). My definition of family is similar to Webster’s, but I feel that there is more to it than just being a blood relative or close friend. A person’s actions, beliefs, and morals play a major role in deciding who makes it into that “family” group. Family becomes more of an idea or feeling, like love or hate, than just who a person is or where they fall in
A family consists of a couple key parts. First, the family plays an enormous role in one’s life by influencing the children. Due to the children
Family plays a crucial role in an individual's life. They affect your decisions and the way you live. Your family can either bring you down or lift you up and push you to do your hardest.
After discussing the concept of family with four different people I was able to see a few similarities as well as differences about their views of family. The first major similarity was when I asked, “What does the word family mean to you?” Each person I asked had almost had the same answer, which was family, is a crucial support system with constant love and support. I completely
Family has a very complex definition. It can be stripped of its value by being described simply as a blood connection, something with only dna binding you to each-other. It can be associated as a money source or just strangers that live in the same vicinity as you. Family could just be a never ending list of people who you don’t truly know or seem to care about. Yet, family can also be something of deep enriching and emotional connection. You don’t necessarily have to be blood related but, you can form a connection that can’t be broken no matter how broken of a situation you may be in. Family in many people’s eyes is a bond that can withstand anything and everything and will remain to stand intact. It doesn’t matter the size or the type of
When you think of the term “family”, you will most likely think of a group consisting of parents with a child or children living under one household. And while all this could be true, it is not the only way or the correct way family could be defined. Family is more accurately described as a group of people who, is not related by blood nor marriage but, sincerely care and love one another. Family that will help you every step of the way, and give unconditional support you can’t find anywhere else.
What is a family? Most people get confused about the definition of family. A family is having a close relationship to a group of people and they do not have to be blood related. That group of people should share respect, love, and loyalty. Usually a family is consisting of a father, mother, and siblings. However, mine is grandparents, parents, and siblings. Families are important because they give love and security. For example, I always feel loved when I am with my family, and secured or protected. A person can learn anything from family such as respecting people, dealing with situation, and starting a new family of own based on the family. My family has influenced me in many aspects but most the influence is about my personality. My
Family are the people you come home to with smiles on their faces after a long and tough day. When you have messed up big time and made mistakes, family is the ones who have your back. If you are struggling and need someone to talk to, they are the people who are there to console you. When it feels like the world

A family can be defined in many ways, but the common denominator in all is the love and fulfillment one gets by being surrounded by family members. Families can sometimes be at odds with each other, but the strain of this type of relationship usually creates an upsetting feeling to the people involved. People want others to rely on, talk to, do things with, share, love, embrace, and be part of. No matter what the family dynamic is the qualities the word family has will remain the same, as time goes by, and life evolves once again for every person living their
One definition of family is a group of individuals, each a unique masterpiece, sharing unconditional love, hugs and support, and is one of life’s greatest blessings to cherish always. Family is not only defined by bloodline or last name, but it’s having a strong commitment and love for each other. It simply means showing up when the family needs help the most. Moreover, it means having unconditional love when you struggle to like each other. Ultimately, family means being in the moment with each other during both difficult and successful situations and not giving up on family.
