While at the Salzburg court, Mozart composed his only violin concertos, as well as his first piano concertos. Growing up he “mastered the universal technical difficulties of musical composition, such as counterpoint, harmony, fugue, variation, instrumentation, and formal planning (of arias, ensembles, sonatas, and rondos); yet all this learning never suppressed the element of fantasy. Wolfgang’s mother, Anna Maria Pertl, was born to a middle class family of local community leaders. His only sister was Maria Anna with their father’s encouragement and guidance, they both were introduced to music at an early age. Mozart was an extremely talented child, who started to compose music before the age of five years old. By the age of thirteen, Mozart started writing proof of his genius with sonatas, concertos, symphonies, religious works and quite a few operas. In the year 1773 he wrote his first piano concerto.

     Archbishop von Schrattenbach, who was a great supporter of Mozart, died in 1771 and was succeeded by Hieronymus von Colloredo. Wolfgang Mozart had amazing career filled with a ton of music. After returning from Italy, Mozart learned of his first job opportunity as an assistant concertmaster. This allowed him to make a small salary. During this time, Mozart worked with several different musical genres. He composed symphonies, string quartets, sonatas and serenades and a few operas. After a time of being an assistant concert master, he wanted to find a new job. In August 1777, Mozart set out on a trip to find more prosperous employment.
