For my poem I decided to look at Angel Butcher by Phillip Levine. For a poet that later became known for his poems that supposedly authentically depict working class factory life in the Detroit factories, Levine’s early poetry is almost allegorical – complete with the kind of poetic artfulness that is generally believed to be against reality and actuality. For one thing, it’s full of angels, which is probably the last category of character you expected to see in a work by this type of author. And somehow of course, they are very common in his works. In many of Levine’s early works depicting industrial life, angels are very commonplace and are almost always handled with violence.

All of Michelangelo’s artistic manifestations, be it strict artistic creations or poems, shows us what he intended and believed as a whole. For Michelangelo you could not separate the fact that he believed in God from the images he had to portray, but this was also a product of his time as he lived in a territory ruled by the Vatican. The work done by Michelangelo during all these years are a testament of his own resilience, and this he also wrote about in a veiled manner when he depicted himself as stone that was transformed by fire: “So friendly to cold rock is the inner fire That if, drawn out therefrom, it circumscribes, Burns it and breaks, in some way it survives, Itself a bond for others, fixed forever.

Michelangelo contributed many things to our society, especially to us Catholics. He painted to roof of the Sistine chapel, created the ‘Madonna of the steps’ carving, ‘Madonna and child’ carving, ‘angel’ carving, and many more works of art. To name a few from the Sistine chapel, there is the most famous ‘creation of Adam’, ‘the first day of creation’, and ‘ the prophet Jeremiah’. He also helped to create some amazing works of architecture, for example: laurentian library, and saint peter’s church. Without him, we wouldn't have many beautiful works of art!

Michelangelo is an amazing and wonderful painter, sculptor artist, and a architect . Michelangelo painted "David" and "Pieta" statues and the Sistine Chapel frescoes. He was famous for his Paintings, sculptures,and an architect. He was considered to be the greatest artist in his lifetime. Michelangelo had spent only a year in a his workshop when an opportunity opened to him. Michelangelo Changed the world of art with his marvelous paintings. He brightened the world with his amazing art and pleased many people.

Michelangelo Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni was born in March 6, 1476.One of the most famouse artist of the Italian reinassance. Michelangelo was a sculptor, painter,and poet. He was born in the city of Florence, Italy. He was born to a family of moderate that means is the baking business Michelangelo was unique, he was the only one that its biography was published when he was alive, there was two. Michelangelo during his lifetime was called a lot by I1 Divino that means the divine one. He has a quality of inspiring. He had a highly original style that moved him to next major movement to western art, after the high renaissance.

Italy boasts about how beautiful their paintings are, they have some of the most spectacular artists. When I hear the word Italy I think about a few artists such as Michelangelo, Leonardo Da Vinci, and Donatello.

Michelangelo was the greatest artist of his time sculpting and painting many frescos still known the world over to this day. He was born March 6h, 1475 in The Republic of Florence, he was born into a family of minor nobles and did not begin his art apprenticeship until the age of 13, he left after only a year as he knew everything he needed. In 1498 he was commissioned to by the Bacchus to create Pieta which presented the unusual challenge of having to extract two figures from a singular block. After two older more advanced sculptures passed up a particular marble for being too imperfect 26 year old Michelangelo created his masterpiece David from the stone. His father`s name was Leonardo di Buonarroti Simoni and his mother`s name was Francesca Neri. Together they had five children, one of the son was Michelangelo and they returned to Florence when he was just an infant. Michelangelo is the considered by many as only a sculptor, however he was also a painter, architect, poet, and anatomist. He started by showing great promise as an artist early in his life; he was apprenticed at age 13 to one of Florence’s preeminent Renaissance artists. Michelangelo’s significance to art history is enormous. Michelangelo's output in every field during his long life was prodigious; when the sheer volume of correspondence, sketches, and reminiscences that survive is also taken into account, he is the best-documented artist of the 16th century. He created two of the most influential works in fresco in the history of Western art, the scenes from Genesis on the ceiling and The Last Judgment on the altar wall of the Sistine Chapel in Rome. He then later on in life designed the dome of St. Peter's Basilica in the same city and revolutionized classical architecture with his use of the giant order of pilasters. In a demonstration of Michelangelo's unique standing, he was the first Western artist whose biography was published while he was alive. This shows how much significance he has and how much his art works influenced the world. His Sistine Chapel ceiling painting shows the significance he had to the church and Christianity. His hands work quickly and delicately to complete this work of art. Every chiseled muscle would be as smooth as silk, each hair a perfect curl. Sweat dripped from his face and his heart pounded rapidly in his chest as he stepped back to see what he had created. Two years- two long years to finish this piece. What will the result be? He worried that all his work would have been for nothing. Tears swelled in his eyes as he gazed at his work. It was spectacular. The marble seemed to faintly glow in the afternoon sun. Michelangelo's expressive and idealized works of art have been a major influence from his own time to ours.

Days pass until I see him make an appearance while I’m fully conscious. By counting the meals he’s left on the nightstand, I’ve determined that I’ve been in here for at least a week.
